Probably the aliens don't do great here, as they immediately get apprehended for being weirdo aliens. The Tramp could certainly do some shenanigans to stall for time

 

Fun fact: Chaplin (who obviously played the Tramp) made a movie critiquing Hitler way back in 1940.

I’d expect The Tramp to know the geography of Austria better than the aliens. Also if you’re going to smuggle people you probably don’t wanna stand out to Nazi’s as some aliens with big heads.

Eh, just like with Lammy, the Nodes could "win" by sacrificing themselves to the Nazis curiosity, and allow the von Trapp children to escape that way.

Plus the Nazis would definitely be attracted to the sudden appearance of space aliens, as their weird science experiments proved.

I feel like Chaplin would be extremely motivated to do well in this one. He was notoriously anti-nazi to the extent that he released The Great Dictator to make fun of Hitler. He was also Jewish. I have a feeling he would pull out all the stops; do whatever shenanigans are necessary to pull off a distraction.

This is a total sell for me. The aliens provide such a distraction that the entire events of the movie wouldn't even happen.
