Living Toys: which can protect a child

Which one could be the hero that saves the kid in trouble?  Where's Chucky when you need him?  This one is difficult, and I'm certainly open to different takes on it.

At a glance, though, I'm liking the Nutcracker.  I think he's gonna be crackin' a different kind of Nut here.

If this is like the nutcracker who turns into a prince and fights the rat king, he could do pretty well.

The other one is a small tiger though, and tigers are pretty fierce.

Isn't Hobbes merely a stuffed toy tiger to everyone but Calvin? If that were the case, I'd have to give it to the Nutcracker.

Give the toy full value in it's "living" incarnation.

So... small tiger protecting small child.  Living toys... it's all part of the holiday season magic.

Pretty sure that the Nutcracker is a guardian or something. Seems he would be fit to defend a child.

Hobbes spends his time hanging out with and protecting Calvin. I think he’s much better suited to protect a kid.

I’m actually confused why this isn’t an easy win for Hobbes. Wouldn’t he be much better equipped/inclined to protect a child?

The nutcracker actually protects that ballerina while Hobbes only balances on logs and stuff.

The nutcracker is still only a regular sized nutcracker who fights regular sized rats. Hobbes is a full tiger, still think he’s much better for protection.

Full Tiger is definitely overstating it. Hobbes is child sized.
