We've seen how children play with Buzz. He was every little boy's favorite toy for alittle while, which should indicate how popular he was among imaginative kids. I think that should be enough to get him the win.

Important to remember that My Pet Monster started as just a plush, not connected to any existing ip or character, unlike Buzz in the real world or in the Toy Story universe. It brought so much joy to kids who infused it with their imagination that it then spawned a cartoon, movie, closing books etc.
