Jack of all Trades: who is the most Persuasive

Posted

I'll gotta admit something off the bat: I'm not a big fan of drafting "specialists", unless their specialty happens to involve the main theme of the Draft itself. I generally like drafting characters, etc. with diverse abilities. So I was kind of worried once I drafted P. T. Barnum and then saw many of the challenges he may go through.

This, however, is one of two or maybe three of the type of challenges that Barnum excels at. :D

So, could Barnum talk Rapunzel into cutting her hair? Well, Barnum was virtually born a showman and a con-man.

  • As mentioned in his first match-up, Barnun stitched together a dead monkey with a dead fish's tale, called it a "Feejee Mermaid", and sold a lot of tickets for people to watch it.
  • He also purchased a blind slave and convinced everyone that she was 161 years old. Barnum even made a great stunt out the discovery that, when the slave died, she was actually around 80. (*eck*)
  • And of course, he made a "circus of freaks" the greatest show on Earth.

I think I like Barnum's odds here.
