If we are talking about who can become the most popular and make the most money, I'll have to give this heartily to the cute cheeky monkey.

A sabre-tooth tiger may appeal to a certain group of people in terms of very specific advertising, but Abu brings a cross-demographic appeal to the field. He's able to advertise more things, star in more complex commercials and has that broader appeal. 

Plus, capuchin monkeys have a familiarity about them, think Indiana Jones, PIrates of the Caribbean, Night at the Museum, Ace Ventura etc. 

Abu for the win.

Yeah, I gotta say. I've seen far too many people that just lose their minds when they see a monkey star in anything, to the point where the enjoyment of said thing is amplified. Gotta go with Abu.

Poor Zabu. I'd love to see him in a commercial, but Abu is clearly more marketable.

I think Abu would make for a much better commercial or advertising, especially for younger kids

Although I agree it's Abu, Zabu would have the more memorable commercial. As stated above, there has been plenty of representation of the Abu type. A sabre-tooth Tiger will turn quite a few years.
