I think Barbie on brand recognition could possibly succeed here

I agree on this. Sorry to say, it looks like Willy hasn't really been pop culture-relevant since the '60's.

This is an interesting challenge.  Barbie clearly has the beauty, charm and appeal to those who lean feminine.

But... look at the product she's working with.  Who are we marketing this to?

I would say that Barbie as a mascot for this nasty goop might not hit the target audience.

The type of person who is interested in a disgusting condiment product like this is probably the same type that would identify with Garbage Pail Kids(tm) and candy shaped like worms.  And I'm thinking that Willy the Hillbilly has a brand image that goes well with nasty goopy condiments.

Well spoken

I would also point out that Barbie would seem like a health guru type salesperson. Ketchup is not exactly a healthy condiment so I would assume she would have a hard time trying to sale something that isn't exactly a health food

A weird goop might be up Willy's alley

First of all, I loved that green ketchup. I mourn its loss every time I eat frozen tator tots.

Willy clearly seems to be the right mascot to me. Weird ketchup seems like his thing.

Needless to say, I don't even know who Willy is. He can DEFINITELY get a career resurgence if he sells something silly like green/purple ketchup. Barbie, on the other hand, might tank for associating with something like this. Not a given, but there's a chance.

Glad WIlly pulled through on this one.  Clearly he is the mascot this green ketchup needs.
