The dark and shadowy environment of the mines gives the shapeshifting, chameleon-like Mystique the edge.

She'll be hard to spot and, using stealth, I think she's guaranteed the opening blow.  A stab in the back, I'd wager.

Thing about that is that I'm pretty sure Captain Cold has an AoE cold aura-like ability, doesn't he? Does he have to activate that?

I'm sure she's not adverse to shooting him in the back if she can't get close enough for the blade.

Cold's smart, as others have said, but has he fought against a lot of shapeshifters before?

Personally, I'm thinking Mystique might just find a way to shape shift into a goblin or something else and use that against him here.

Cold shouldn't be an easy target to sneak up on. He's fought the Flash for years and is used to being run up on at insane speeds. His reaction speed is pretty good, so if she does get the chance to stab him from behind, I don't think he's going down without hitting her with that cold gun.

If Cold can react to Flash’s attacks then I doubt Mystique is going to be able to land a hit on him, sneak attack or no.
