GAINING AN EDGE: A MASSIVE FIGHTING GAME CROSSOVER

PART CXXIII

hakan.jpg.85f19ef5be2c43e10246e0b62e171edf.jpg

In Turkey, masked wrestler and muscle for hire, Raiden, slammed down his phone in frustration after a repeated inability to get a hold of Vega. (REF: MOMIJI VS. VEGA) The Spanish killer and Heavenly King of Shadoloo had fired Raiden in unspectacular fashion via text before he even had gotten a chance to earn his check.  (REF: LUONG VS. JURI HAN) Raiden glared at the man that was supposed to be his target, Craig Marduk. (REF: CRAIG MARDUK VS. HAKAN) The mixed martial arts fighter was flat on his back in the ring staring up at the ceiling. He appeared to be dazed and confused by the technique of the man who had just defeated him. That man, Turkish oil wrestling extraordinaire, Hakan, stood in the center of the ring with his arms outstretched soaking in the cheers and adulation of his countrymen.

In his brief text, Vega informed Raiden that they were no longer searching for participants of the King of the Iron Fist. Raiden was confused and angered that the value for bringing in Marduk had disappeared completely within the span of an exhibition match. He was angry at Hakan for not finishing the fight earlier, and at Craig for trying this sort of stunt in the first place. Did that moron actually believe he was going to be able to use his grappling holds on someone covered in oil?

Hakan continued his celebration in the ring by pouring more oil over his body and shouting in jubilation. Craig Marduk’s companion, King, was checking on him in the ring. The fact that Raiden was now staring at two King of the Iron Fist participants made the dropped bounty an even harder pill to swallow. Why were they no longer important?

Elsewhere in the audience was someone very interested by the emergence of Craig’s partner, King, in the ring. It was another wrestler who had wanted to fight King for a very long time, but could never get him to agree to a face versus face match and King never worked as a heel. But now that would no longer be a problem, because the wrestler in the audience was no longer working as a face himself. He had recently reinvented himself as a heel to get revenge on those who had defeated him previously. People like that smug blonde Mexican wrestler, Ramon. Until now, the wrestler had viewed this heel persona as a vehicle for vengeance, but now he realized it could also be a ticket for dream matches. He grabbed the red Dinosaur mask by his side and placed it over his head. He let out a loud roar before issuing a challenge to King. The challenge was not heard because of the elated Turkish fans screaming in his vicinity. The King of Dinosaurs decided to try again. He walked away from his seat and leapt over the railing. He was now on the ground floor outside the ring. The King of Dinosaurs tried to call out King again.

The first one to take notice of the King of Dinosaurs wasn’t any of the three men in the ring, but rather Raiden from his ringside seat.

“As if I needed more things going against me,” Raiden thought to himself. “It’s that goof who started taking my spot  in the King of Fighters tournament in 2003. I hate that guy. Why is he wearing that ridiculous T-Rex mask, where is his bird mask?”

Finally, the King of Dinosaurs got King’s attention.

“Rooarrrr! I am the King of Dinosaurs and I challenge you to a match right here right now!! We will determine who the real king of wrestling is!!”

King was confused by the sudden challenge and the appearance of the man who laid it down.. It took him a few moments to recognize who was shouting at him.

“Tizoc?” asked King.

“There is no Tizoc here,” the King of Dinosaurs insisted. “Only me. And you must face me right now because if you don’t I will do some bad things, because I am a villain!”

Raiden rolled his eyes. This man clearly still had much work to do to refine a heel persona.

King stunned the King of Dinosaurs by rejecting his challenge and replied to the match offer with a thumbs down. This infuriated the King of Dinosaurs.

Raiden took a different approach. He skipped with the formalities and charged the ring. He needed to take out his frustrations for a missed payday on someone, anyone. He slipped into the ring under the bottom rope. Raiden then stood up and charged at King, but he immediately slipped on the copious amount of oil on the mat. He tumbled forward and got himself tangled in the ropes. Both Hakan and King burst out laughing at the big man. Craig Marduk, who had recently returned to his feet, also took some pleasure at Raiden’s misfortune. However, Craig’s joy was short-lived.

The King of Dinosaurs entered the ring and attacked Craig from behind. He slashed at Craig with his clawed hands and chomped at him with his dinosaur mask. He then spun around and smacked Craig hard with his tail attachment. A dazed Craig crashed into the turnbuckle. The King of Dinosaurs lifted him in the air and threw him over the top rope into the guard rail.

King pointed an accusatory finger at the King of Dinosaurs and accused him of taking his gimmick too far.

Hakan chortled in disbelief. “People say Turkish Oil wrestling is too bizarre for the mainstream, but look at this guy. He is bringing weapons into the wrestling ring with those costumed claws.”

“You stay out of this!” The King of Dinosaurs growled.

Although he still had his arms tangled in the ropes, Raiden commented, “Tizoc, you do look ridiculous.”

“You are in no position to mock the appearance of the top predator,” the King of Dinosaurs retorted before he suddenly remembered to add, “And who is this Tizoc that you speak of?”

This unique exhibition match that had drawn all different sorts of fighting fans to Turkey had now descended fully into an absolute circus, and King had had enough of it. He agreed to fight the King of Dinosaurs if it was ok with Hakan, the host of this event.

Hakan thought it over. “An intriguing but bizzare encore for my victory. But in the spirit of inclusion of all different types of wrestling styles I say go for it. The Turkish fans deserve nothing but the best in their entertainment.”

“Make it a triple threat match,” Raiden demanded.

Hakan laughed in his face. “Why would we do that? After you made a fool of yourself in front of this huge crowd, no one would take you seriously.”

Raiden huffed in frustration.

Hakan offered both King and the King of Dinosaurs some of his extra bottles of oil, but both men refused.

“Suit yourselves but you are missing out on wrestling in its purest form,” Hakan insisted.

King asked if the ring could actually be cleaned before his match against the King of Dinosaurs so that they could both avoid Raiden’s fate. Hakan agreed to this request.

Event security attempted to remove Raiden from ringside. Before they could escort him away, Raiden ran over and kicked a still ailing Craig Marduk to make himself feel better.

Back in the ring, the King of Dinosaurs roared with excitement. Finally, the chance to prove himself the superior “king” wrestler had arrived.

A little bit of a brief detour. I am still not sure how I am going to tie this particular thread into the main narrative, but I will think of somethimg.

I did, however, wanted to make sure I went "full professional wrestling" for this fight. I believe it's the only way to do it justice lol.

Someone added Tizoc/King of Dinosaurs to the database? Well... that's something interesting!

And both are Lucha Libre fighters too... Hmmm...

I'm probably going to go with King, as he's someone who's probably fought some very interesting opponents as far as the Tekken series is concerned. I mean to me, it seems like he's fought the more dangerous opponents such as Craig Marduk, and to some extent, even the more vengeful Armor King.

Gotta go with King! The guy is tougher, more skilled, and has been a much more impactful player in Tekken then Tizoc in King of Fighters. Also King of Dinosaurs? Man what an amazingly ridiculous name. Glad someone thought of it.

This is my kind of match and really cool to see KoD fight King. I'm a fan of both and think they'd have a great match. Maybe even have a great series of matches in a storyline.

I like this on it's on. Nice set up.

King wins this match based on his skill set and moves. It should be close.
