Interesting pull for L. I would probably say L is smarter, and is probably immune to Lecter's manipulation, but this challenge might be hard. That said, L does actually have a pretty vast web of intelligent people he can hire to help protect the estate. I'm honestly not super sure how this would go

This scenario gives both parties prep-time, but also deals the criminal an inside card.  The criminal has the best view of how to make a run at this.

Given Hannibal is a master of manipulation and utterly ruthless I foresee him finding the weak links in the defense and possibly taking out a number of the mansion guards in the process.  And eating them, naturally, with fave beans and a fine Chianti.

Depends on what they're armed with, realistically. L should work closely with government agencies, which means that the security guards won't be just regular, mindless ones, but if trained soldiers (That's of course assuming he has access to all his regular social webs.)

Lecter’s out of his depths against L. L’s the single greatest detective in the Death Note world, he outwits and outfoxes criminals and psychopaths like Lecter on a regular bases, their’s nothing Lecter could do that L wouldn’t have already planned for, the guy was already planning for the Death Note book before he even really understood what it was.
