SSJRuss Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 Doesn't Captain Planet lose his powers if he's off of Earth?

Here's what the Captain Planet Wiki says: Earth Link: Like Gaia, he is bound to the physical realm of Earth. Although he is capable of flying into orbit, he can’t travel away from the planet. Thus, in the aforementioned Greenhouse Planet episode, he was unable to "return to the Earth" completely as Kwame and Ma-Ti were stranded in space along with their rings. In this weakened form, he had only the Earth Manipulation and Empathy powers, and his skin was rock-gray in color. So we have to question... How far away is the alien ship? Is it in Earth's orbit or is it far away? Also, how many Planeteers summoned him?

Also, how many Planeteers summoned him? The scenario doesn't provide those details. It's unknowable. If the Captain Planet character looses power the farther away from Earth it is, however, then one might assume the character has less chance of escaping a robust probing. Yosemite Sam is kinda easy to trick, though. Toss up?

But if Captain Planet retains his Empathy powers and maybe one of his elemental abilities as seen in Greenhouse Planet, he could potentially give the aliens a little bit of a fight or he could convince them to leave him alone and escape.

I remember watching a lot of Looney Tunes cartoons back on Cartoon Network (do they still air them on that station?) and I recall a lot of cartoons where Marvin had allof this tremendous power and weaponry, and it backfired on him. Also did Yosemite Sam ever get into conflict with Marvin? I can't remember.

Pizzaguy2995 Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Here’s a thought, what if Sam’s rowdyness and hothead unintentionally distracts the aliens long enough for Captain Planet to slip away? Yosemite Sam does have a tendency to lose out thanks to his temper causing his own demise, plus CP has been able to get himself and his planeteers out of trouble without his powers before, such as the space episode.
DSkillz Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 It would take a pretty damn strong probe to work on Captain Planet if he's even at a fraction of his normal strength.
