Raphael firmly landed the back of his right hand across his opponent’s face. And it was a very satisfying feeling. There was something which he firmly enjoyed whenever he pummeled a fist into someone’s face. Seeing his opponent stagger from such a blow often showed him the level of strength which he could have over them and that was something which he wanted to exercise thoroughly. Without any hesitation, Raphael spun his sai within his left hand and gripped the handle, positioning the weapon in reverse only to turn with his weight as he leaned into the punch as he thrust his left arm out— now firmly slamming the handle directly into the mercenary’s mid-section, directly in his solar plexus. Raphael watched as Ralf Jones lurched and gasped as he doubled over in pain. Following this, the mutant Red Ear Slider side-stepped over to the right, and he immediately then thrust his right elbow down, firmly slamming it into the back of his opponent, causing him to drop hard onto the concrete floor of the parking lot. Fighting through the discomfort, Ralf firmly placed his hands onto the floor and worked to push himself up.

Raphael again went onto the offensive as he then swung his arms horizontally, aiming to unleash two hook punches for his opponent’s mid-section. Ralf Jones widened his eyes as he immediately crossed his arms, taking the blows directly into his forearms and worked to endure the pain which he was being subjected to. Not once did he think in his entire life that he was having so much difficulty against someone who he thought was a cosplayer in a Turtle costume that just happened to know martial arts. If anything, he wanted to say the idea of such as absurd and maybe somewhat humiliating. Raphael quickly then rapidly thrust his arms forward and out, impacting the blunt ends of his sai handles hard onto Ralf’s forearms, leaving bruise markings onto the mercenary’s wrist. The hot-headed Turtle then had snapped his right leg across, smacking his foot across the mercenary’s knees, causing him to buckle. Seizing this opportunity, Raphael swung his right arm up in an uppercut—firmly impacting his fist underneath Ralf’s chin.

“MMRPH!”

Ralf moved his left hand up to his mouth and rubbed away at his jaw to cope with the discomfort which he was feeling, and looking down—the mercenary blinked at seeing a stain of red on his forearm. The mercenary nodded his head in approval. He knew that this was definitely going to be a real fight.

The leader of the Ikari team immediately rushed right in towards the red masked ninja, his fist clenched as he now zeroed right in on the Turtle. He turned in a spin and swung his left arm across, intending to go for Raphael’s head but then followed up by thrusting his right arm forward and out, and aimed to finish by swinging his left arm upward in an uppercut for the mutant Red Ear Slider’s chin as he unleashed the Gatling Attack. But he hadn’t expected the Turtle to move so fast, as Raphael hunched to evade the first strike, ducked underneath the second punch, and he side-stepped around to evade the uppercut.

The red masked ninja then snapped his left leg upwards and out, intending on firmly striking at Ralf’s chin but the mercenary moved his right hand down, slapping away at Raphael’s foot. The ninja then snapped it up again, and Ralf slapped it down once more. Then the mutant Turtle swiftly swung his right leg across as he brought it diagonally up, and shifted his whole weight into the kick. Ralf leaned back, evading what might’ve been a strong roundhouse. Raphael the threw his weight forward and down, now somersaulting ahead and he would bring his feet forward and down, his left foot impacting and then his right slamming harder down onto Ralf’s chest, causing the veteran to fly back and slam back first onto the hood a parked vehicle.

Raphael then clasped his twin sai together, holding them in his left as he allowed his right to be free—and the red masked ninja then moved his right hand down to his utility belt and quickly took hold of three shurikens. He took aim for his opponent’s mid-section and then threw his hand forward, releasing the throwing blades from his grasp.

“SHIT!” Ralf shouted as he immediately rolled to his left, moving out of the way of the incoming shurikens as they embedded themselves into the hood of the vehicle he had been previously laid out on.

Summoning up all of the frustration he accumulated, Ralf immediately now bolted to his feet and ran right in towards the red masked Turtle. Upon closing the gap of space between him and the mutant reptile, the mercenary jabbed his left arm and followed up by a strong thrust from his right as he aimed out for Raphael’s head. The Turtle raised his arms, blocking the two punches with his arms. Ralf set his sights on the ninja’s mid-section and he quickly leaned in with his weight as he swung his right arm forward, impacting his right fist into the Turtle’s plastron and… to his surprise, Ralf felt something solid. If this was supposed to be a costume, why wasn’t the front made of some kind of foam or latex? It felt like… a real shell. No matter, Ralf needed to keep the pressure going and so he tensed himself up, pushing himself to the air with his legs and then kicked them both out in a drop kick—firmly impacting Raphael in his plastron protected chest as he unleashed one of his own techniques.

“RALF KICK!”

Raphael grunted and he would be sent stumbling back until he had collided back first into a concrete support beam. He shot a glare to the leader of the Ikari team, and he couldn’t help but raise his left brow in a quizzical manner.

The Turtle didn’t have much time to ask any questions as his opponent was already making a mad rush for him. Ralf quickly moved his right arm across in a hook punch, solidly landing a strong hit onto Raphael’s face and then he followed up by thrusting his left forward and again solidly striking the Turtle. The mercenary moved his arms, grabbing a hold of the mutant Red Ear Slider by the shoulders and with tremendous strength, he lifted and hoisted him onto his shoulders, only to now throw him up into the air. Raphael felt weightless for a moment, and suddenly was caught by Ralf. The Turtle grunted upon impact, and he was tossed onto the ground after having experienced Ralf’s Super Argentine Backbreaker. The Turtle grunted again, and was already on the path to rising to his feet but was immediately met by a solid elbow to the top of his head delivered by the veteran.

“On your feet, loser!” Ralf chuckled.

Again, Raphael felt a pair of hands grabbing hold of his shoulders and lifting him up off from the ground. Realizing what was about to transpire as the mercenary raised him over head, the red masked ninja moved his right hand down to his utility belt and then took hold of a pellet. Immediately, he tossed it to the ground at Ralf’s feet and a burst of flame erupted only to then release a waft of smoke upwards. Startled by the sudden burst of flame, Ralf unintentionally released Raphael, and the Turtle skillfully landed feet first onto the ground.

Ralf coughed as he moved his hands, working to brush away at the smoke which prevented him from seeing his opponent. Capitalizing on this, Raphael quickly had swung his left leg diagonally up in a roundhouse kick, firmly smacking Ralf hard onto his face. The mercenary retaliated and turned to the direction from where the kick had come from, swinging his arms to perform two quick hooks but instead hit nothing but air. Raphael then spun his sai in his left hand, now having the handle end protrude from between his fingers and he turned with his weight as he took aim for Ralf’s mid-section and firmly struck the man in the ribs. Ralf lurched and gasped as the air was forced from his body and he felt a sharp pain moving through his mid-section but worked to quickly fight through the pain. In response to the punishment delivered, Ralf turned to the direction where the strike had come from and he swung his right and left arm across three times, before he leaned forward and kicked his right leg out.

But the veteran again, hit nothing and the smokescreen wasn’t helping his situation at all.

Ralf moved his hands frantically, working to brush the smoke screen from his sight. He moved, aiming to leave the area affected by the smoke and when he managed to get clear of the smog—the veteran now glared for any sign of his opponent but the red masked ninja was nowhere to be found.

“What the hell?”

The veteran turned in all directions as he now searched for the reptile. He moved through the parking garage, still looking for any sign of his opponent. He couldn’t help but wonder how the Turtle was able to disappear like that so suddenly. And just as that train of thought came to mind, Ralf Jones suddenly felt a heavy impact hitting him from the back of his head and he grunted as his senses were quickly overwhelmed as Raphael delivered a mighty elbow from his left. Ralf worked to overcome the pain and he turned to meet the Turtle once more. Quickly, he would thrust his left arm out in a jab, and then lean in with a solid straight as he took aim for Raphael’s head. The red masked hot-head crossed his arms out in front of himself, blocking the two punches head on. The mercenary reached out and placed his hands to the back of Raphael’s head, and immediately aimed to pull him close and down—but Raphael responded by raising his right leg up, pressing his knee against Ralf’s chest to prevent him from taking him in and down entirely, and he arched himself to keep upright.

“You’re tougher than I thought, froggy! But you ain’t got me just yet!” Ralf grinned.

Raphael instead responded by thrusting his head forward, slamming his forehead directly into the mercenary’s face, causing his nose to experience new pain and forced Ralf to release his hold from him. Pain moved through the veteran’s senses, and he worked to fight through it once again. In an act of fury, Ralf Jones rushed in towards the mutant Red Ear Slider as fast as he could, and leaned forward with his right shoulder out—executing the Ralf Tackle, and impacted Raphael directly only to wrap his arms and immediately take him down. The mercenary quickly straddled onto the Turtle, and raised his fists to beat down his opponent but Raphael quickly saw what he had intended to do, and so he turned with his weight to the left, and aimed to throw Ralf off from him.

The Turtle succeeded in doing so.

Both combatants rose to their feet, and Ralf moved his hands to grab a hold of Raphael, but the red masked ninja threw his arms up, using his forearms to bat away at Ralf’s wrist to break away quickly. He swiftly then turned with his hips and thrust his arms out, striking Ralf firmly onto his mid-section with the blunt ends of his sai handles and then the red masked ninja swung his right arm across to the left, firmly striking the mercenary across the head with his sai handle, causing Ralf to stagger from the blow.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Raphael tensed up his leg muscles and he pushed himself up only to throw his weight to the left and he turned in mid-air only to snap his right leg out in a jumping spinning back thrust kick. His foot struck Ralf Jones firmly in the solar plexus region, causing Ralf to gasp and double over in discomfort and pain while the impact was more than enough to cause Ralf to fly back and drop onto the hood of a parked vehicle once more. Raphael rushed ahead and the red masked ninja took to the air once more, now turning his sai with the pointed pronged weapons facing forward and he took aim for his opponent’s shoulders only to thrust his weapons down in an effort to perhaps stab them through Ralf’s shoulders.

“SHIT!”

Ralf quickly moved to his right, moving out of the way of the Turtle as his opponent thrust his weapons firmly into the hood of the vehicle, piercing through the metal. Raphael pulled his weapons out as hard as he could, and he turned to glare over to the mercenary.

“Things are heated. They’re getting close to finishing.” Leonardo spoke as he watched intently.

Ralf quickly rushed at the red masked hot-head, and he thrust his right and left arm out three quick times—intending on striking away at the Turtle’s mid-section and head. Raphael quickly raised his arms up, blocking the strikes with his forearms as he had crossed them out in front of himself. But it was at this moment that Ralf immediately unleashed a barrage of punches from his right at blinding speeds. His movements fast enough to ignite his fist briefly and the red masked Turtle was sent flying six feet as he had been subject to Ralf’s Vulcan Punch. Raphael was engulfed in as small explosion and heat now moved through his form as he had slammed down onto the hard concrete ground, but the flames were immediately extinguished leaving only minor burns in the form of redness on his green colored skin.

“MOTHERFU--!”

Raphael didn’t even so much as have time to finish as Ralf now charged in and he snapped his left leg out for Raphael’s face with the intent to plant his boot onto the Turtle, but Raphael quickly rolled to his right and evaded the kick. Ralf now screamed out as he tensed up the muscles within his body and began to draw upon the raw physical strength which he had worked many years in developing. And when he felt his strength reach it’s apex, Ralf then charged forward and aimed to throw his right arm forward with the intent on striking Raphael hard onto his face, intending on ending this fight with one massive punch.

“GALACTICA PHANTOM!”

The mercenary came in like a freight train. Quickly, Raphael clasped his sai together and moved his right hand back to grab a hold of the special shurikens which Donatello prepared. Grabbing them quickly, he took aim for his opponent’s feet and flung them out. Upon striking the ground, the shurikens exploded into a burst of flames and wafted a light smoke screen upwards. Ralf quickly stumbled to a stop as he now forced himself to stop, aiming to avoid the burst of heat and flames.

Raphael rushed in ahead and the red masked ninja then leaned forward and slammed his right shoulder firmly into Ralf’s mid-section, and continued charging until his opponent collided into one of the concrete support beams. Ralf grunted upon impact as his back slammed into the beam, possibly bruising as well. Raphael then gripped his sai firmly in his grasp, now thrusting his arms out as he would slam in the blunt ends of the handles firmly into Ralf’s mid-section, further bruising his rib cage as he struck firmly and repeatedly. Then, the Turtle swing his right arm across to the left, striking his sai across Ralf’s face and watched as his opponent dropped.

Raphael waited ten seconds to see if his opponent was going to continue. Ralf made no movements.

The match was concluded.

The red masked hot-head now turned and walked his way back over to his brothers as he nudged his head up and chuckled in amusement of his own victory. Seemingly, out of the Turtles— Raphael had come across the most vicotries and acquired a good deal of experience when it had come to fighting other styles. As he approached his brothers, Raphael moved his sai handles to his belt, slipping them in safely before he raised his hands up. Donatello and Michelangelo raised their hands up, slapping their palms onto Raphael’s hands. Leonardo crossed his arms in front of his plastron protected chest and nodded in approval of Raphael’s hard earned win over the opposing team’s leader.

Leona and Whip moved over to where Ralf’s unconscious form had happened to be, taking hold of him and raising him to his feet as they then moved back to a safer distance in order to allow him to recovery and awake if the beating he had endured allowed him to do so.

“I suppose it’s going to be up to me now.” Clark spoke out as he now stepped forward.

Leona and Whip looked over to the man, and nodded as they would take the time to look over Ralf. Leona had placed her finger tips onto Ralf’s jugular, and thankfully there was a pulse. She looked to her teammates, and nodded her head in confirmation that the hot blooded man was going to be alright.

Michelangelo had stepped forward as he moved his hands down and then took hold of his twin nunchaku in his grasp, but then was immediately stopped by Donatello as the intellectual Turtle moved his right arm back and took hold of metal bo-staff and drew it out, now position it in front of Michelangelo to stop him from moving forward.

“Seriously?” Michelangelo asked.

“Yeah. I don’t feel too good about my last match… I want to make up for it. Gotta bring something worth to the table here. I know what mistakes I made.” Donatello replied.

“Psscht… Yeah, man. Go right ahead.” Michelangelo shrugged.

Leonardo then looked over to Donatello and nodded in understanding. Much like his brother, Leonardo didn’t like the idea of experiencing a loss. He had worked to get over the loss of his match against Terry Bogard, and then tying in a battle against Rock Howard didn’t do his confidence much better either. And hearing that Donatello had learned from his mistakes from his own battles, gave Leonardo some hope that he had made some efforts to improve the areas which needed working on. He knew his brother, and when Donatello said his mind to something— it got done.

“So you’re going to be my opponent? I have to say, you guys look good out there. Best of luck.” Clark nodded.

“Ummm… Thanks.” Donatello replied as he stepped forward and now paused some six feet away from his opponent.

Clark opened up his hands, and then set himself into his own fighting stance. He rolled his shoulders forward and then back to undo whatever stiffness he might have been feeling there. Donatello then did a quick inventory check as far as his own personal weapons were concerned. Feeling confident that he had everything, Donatello then spun his staff within his grasp and then shifted to his own fighting stance. Clark stared from his sunglasses, awaiting for the Turtle to make his move. Donatello took in a breath of air through his nostrils and released a breath to release whatever tension was within him.

There was no room for doubt, no time to second guess himself. He knew what he had to do. He thought about his matches with Andy Bogard and Bonne Jenet, both resulting in draws. These fighters at this tournament, they could take as much as they dish, and Donatello now realized that. There was no need to hold back anymore.

And now the second match between the Turtles and Team Ikari now commenced.

The next match in my Mirage Turtles storyline has finally been posted up and the recap between Raphael vs Ralf Jones was somewhat easy to write up as I managed to find some videos of Ralf's movesets to better incorporate them into the recap. I find that this is something which makes writing these matches easier for me to write the breakdown on and makes coming up with the next matches much easier. In the case of Donatello, I wanted to write something of a bit of developmental progression for him as a character, that while he has won a few matches-- two which he managed to get a draw in and that's something which might affect him, making him feel like that he needs to bring something worth to the table so to speak, and now he's not going to second guess himself for this fight. Also, I feel like Clark would've been a more appropriate opponent for him, all things considered since he's the opposite of Ralf, who in turn was similar to Raphael.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

Donatello is low tier superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation.

Donatello possesses a new Electro Bo-Staff, Electro Shurikens, Explosive Shurikens, Kunai and Modified Laser Equipped Roomba.

Clark Still is in Peak Conditioning due to his training.

Clark Still has his moveset from the KOF games.

Do I always have to be the first to comment on Rakai's matches, y'all? :P

But yeah, great set-up as usual, Rakai. Good to see Raph have to work a bit in this one, but at the same time take some advantage of Ralf's rage.

It's also good to see Donnie take the initiative in this next match-up after not quite being in full fighting mode against B. Jenet (a.k.a. the weird tie :P). After having just being in that tough tie match, though, he might not be at his freshest against Clark Still here.

Being younger and with something to prove, though, I think Donatello can pull this out by using his staff and other gadgets to play keep-away from Still's strikes and grappling moves.

Regarding Donatello, I will say that he is refreshed after a few hours rest between the match between the Turtles and Team Garou and this current team battle. I always give the Turtles sometime to recuperate between team match ups. And indeed he does have something to prove and is taking the initiative with a more aggressive approach and some newer gadgets as well-- one of them being inspired by one of Donatello's gadgets seen in Injustice 2.

Love how hard working you are at writhing your matches Rakai! I give a 5.0, very great!

The Ikari Warriors have never really impressed me much, though that might be because I only played one of there games once a long time ago. Donnie can take this, Clark is far from the toughest opponent he and his brothers have taken on.

Clark Still, despite being a somewhat boring vanilla character to me, has some devastating power moves if he can get his hands on Donatello. If we are bringing the story so far into this as it is, Dontello might try to change up his approach considering he has two ties. He could think that his approach is holding him back and switch it up, but while he is trying a different way he could mess up and then Clark has him in his torture rack throws and power bombs and Donatello is in a world of hurt.

Also, despite going down a narrative path that could lead to victory for Clark I am still picking Donatello. I believe he is overall a better and more diverse fighter and he will be too much for the Ikari Warrior to handle.

Great job in the recap of the Raphael fight and incorporating Donatello's fight history into his arc. I think the Ikari Warriors's best chance at a victory in this group will be Leona who has sticky bombs and some great moves at her disposal. Although she would be facing an uphill battle against I assume Leonardo with Michaelangelo taking on Whip if Donatello continues the brothers' winning ways.

Thank you for commenting and providing the assessment!

Also, you've very much deduced on where I was going with the Ikari Team and the Turtles as far as the match ups goes!

This one was close, certainly closer than I expected it to get, but also about what I expected from a fight like this, as both fighters were battered and broken by the end of this one. Raphael did win here, in spite of the challenges he faced, but I wonder if the reality of this fight will also sink in with him as well, that is I wonder if he'll realize that he almost could have lost if he was not as careful as he was here. That notion is certainly one that he'll never admit publicly to anyone, least of all his brothers, but to himself it is one that he will and probably has in the past, have to face and conquer as he continues to advance in his career as a fighter.

That aside, it really feels like a great sort of brawl from both fighters, and I do like both the effort you put in and the different sense of styles you give to not only the Turtles as they fight, but to also how the narrative plays out, as it seems as though you have a pretty good eye for the various important aspects of who certain characters are and how they operate, so on that note, I do give you a lot of credit as always. Also, I'm liking your personal determination to get these out in the timely fashion that you do, I gotta say it is pretty impressive, especially with as hard as life can be sometimes, so I can certainly see your dedication and determination to continue working on these pieces through that as well.

Donnie will probably face some troubles with Clark, as he does pack a wallop and that Napalm Stretch attack of his could do some damage if he lands on the Ninja Turtle, however Donnie's no slouch either as he has no doubt been in fights with opponents that rely more on their physical attributes than skills and still won, so I'm thinking that he'll power on through in spite of that. A lot of this fight will come down to Donnie switching up his tactics, as Clark can and will hit him with upper body and sky jumping typed attacks, so for Donnie here he'll have to rely more on a flexible set of strategic moves to outflank Clark's capabilities and outfox Clark's ability to perceive what he might do in their fight. Put in practice, Donnie could, especially with his equipment in tow, utilize a strategy of attack or fight Clark one way, and then work hard to shift to his true fighting aims in order to put the mercenary into  more of a bind than he might otherwise have expected from the Turtle. Granted, Clark has served as a mercenary and has some fighting experience no doubt, but in first meeting a Ninja Turtle and in having no real clue as to how they fight necessarily, Donnie could certainly use that to his advantage here.
