If someone could explain how Kato and Shego got into a 'Comedy' sidekick slot, I'd appreciate it.  Not knocking the people who chose them, I just thought we were choosing comedic sidekicks for this slot.

I think they were thinking of the horrible Seth Rogen film version, but even then Kato played the straightman. @Fox Care to inform us?

Kato might be a fantastic martial artist but the perils of silent hill are more than just physical threats. Any version of Kato has his flaws, and those flaws are what the town will feed on.

Basically if the character is a sidekick in a comedic type show that was okay.  That Seth Rogan movie was a comedy, I guess, for certain definitions of "comedy".

Anyways, a lot of people had trouble with this one. There were a lot of rejections.  I did my best.

This is a hard one to judge.  I am going just by the Silent Hill film, which is all I have experience with in Silent Hill.

I recall that I thought the film was pretty good, but it's been awhile.

The protagonist in the film survived it.  And she had no skills like Kato's.

HOWEVER, she also made decisions Kato wouldn't necessarily make and had some plot armor due to her gender.

Being trapped in the Church for an eternity isn't winning, and I don't know that Kato could negotiate with the woman in the Hospital that turned Silent Hill into a nightmare.

Tough one!

I think Shego fits the mold the same way Penny fits the mold as laid out in the original posting since Kim Possible is definitely a comedic show. It was stated the sidekick themselves didn't have to be comedic. I was thinking of picking Kato myself, but I didn't think of Green Hornet as a comedic show, wasn't even thinking about the movie.
