It's not like Cerberus was hunting him that time. Dick Dastardly revives Cerberus to go look for his dog. Muttley was not in anyway surviving Cerberus in that time period.

I feel like Muttley could have a shot at surviving. I mean the Eric character survived however many weeks/months on the island alone in Jurassic Park 3. And a group of teenagers survived for months in the Camp Cretaceous series. 

I know Muttley is a side kid to a character that constantly had mishaps and screw ups, but for 24 hours, I feel like Muttley could escape from harm
