Penny has a good chance of surviving this as she isn't an incompetent idiot.

However, if there are fully matured Xenomorphs living in the Derelict as it has been depicted in later continuity post ALIEN and ALIENS, her chances of survival are much much slimmer.

I assume she'll have a space suit. 

But I think she can survive, she's more than careful a lot of the times.

One could argue that the landing crew of the Nostromo were also not incompetent idiots, however it still did not work out too well for them.

The only question for me on this one is does Penny have "Ripley level" plot armor that's going to see her through to the end of the movie.

She doesn't have plot armor as much as everyone that's evil in a Saturday Morning Cartoon show of the time has bumbling incompetence. I think she'd be murdered by the first Xenomorph that she comes across.

And then there is the possibility of Penny coming across the black liquid filled ampules, if the Prometheus and Covenant films are to be considered.

Penny would likely have to quickly become a scrappy survivalist like Newt in Aliens to have a chance here. She is about Newt's age and size, so she could maybe crawl into spaces that most of the Aliens couldn't. Would the Runners catch up to her before she could think to do that, though?
