I still say Mulan given she ended up getting Chinese army training anyway.

Now this one's tough for me. Both of them are actually very skilled with weapons and could potentially do well here. However, Mulan actually has killed, and I don't think Merida has killed another person, so I'm thinking Mulan wins

I'm leaning towards Mulan. She did train in an army for combat to fight other armies. Usually that unfortunately does involve killing. She has been trained for it and became a skilled warrior in that same army. 

Not saying Merida is not skilled and is not capable of that extreme response, but i feel Mulan was specifically trained for combat
