Hell's Kitchen...

Blood dripped from his nose as he pushed through exhaustion and pain. The moans filled the room as he unleashed his ruthless attacks upon his enemies. The snapping of their bones was almost deafening as the Man without Fear had knocked down his last opponent. For a moment, he staggered as the pain shot throughout his body. Leaning against the blood-stained walls, Matt took a moment as he regained his strength. There were whimpers and cries in a room down the hallway. There were several heartbeats beating with fear. These dreadful heartbeats gave him strength as he made his way toward the door. There was a slight jangling noise that roared in Matt's hear. He felt the padlock on the door and with a swift kick, the door opened wide to reveal the horrifying room. Within the room, there were young girls of all ages crouched in the other end of the room. They were overcome with terror at the sight of the Man without Fear. Matt stood before these girls and let out a sigh of relief. "Everything is going to be okay. You all will be okay." The terror in their hearts started to fade as they heard the melody of sirens in the distance growing closer. Daredevil stumbled back and slowly started walking away.

As another night in Hell's Kitchen continued on, Matt could hear the sounds of the city from all around. Those words still echoed in his soul, "Everything is going to be okay. You all will be okay." It was his mission to fight for this city. With each passing night, he felt as if it were his destiny to give everything for the soul of this city. It was his life to give his blood, sweat and skin for those that were victims to the evil that plagued the streets. He carried the burdens of those that continually cried for help. Every night he heard the prayers and pleas for salvation. With every plea, the Devil of Hell's had made it his goal to answer these calls for help. When the law could not bring the justice these people needed, he became their justice. The weight of this burden pressed upon him with each passing night as he continued to seek his own solace. In his heart, he had to believe that everything was going to be okay. His mind told him that this city was bleeding, but he believed little by little there was healing within the streets. He stumbled in his home and staggered through his hallways. There was comfort in his mind that all those girls were safe now.

He fell onto the silk sheets of his bed. The sounds of the city continued to weigh against him as his eyes closed. Fading off into sleep, he took rest in those words that he told those girls, "Every is going to be okay." Sleep had taken a hold of Matt Murdock as the night came to a close. The early morning rays of the sun shined into the streets. It was a new day in Hell's Kitchen. The alarm rang out with a intense blaring sound as Matt slowly sprang out of his bed. He carried out his morning routines before heading to the office of Nelson & Murdock. While he walked through the streets, he listened as his city came to life. There were radio broadcasts and news reports that spoke of the events that had unfolded the night before. They spoke of the vigilante known as Daredevil rescuing almost a dozen girls from a trafficking ring that consisted of over two dozen suspects. Authorities were still looking into the matter. The reports stated that the girls were of all ages and were from different parts of the country. A small grinned formed over Matt's face as he heard that these girls would be returned to their families soon. He felt like everything was going to be okay.

Opening the door, he sauntered into his office. Foggy and Karen were watching the news on a small television screen that they had in their office. Their eyes were glued to the television has Matt greeted them. They barely acknowledged him as they were watching the report. Matt almost chuckled as he thought about the report and everything else in the world. In a world with a billionaire in a high-tech suit, a green rage monster and a guy swinging around the city like a spider; his colleagues were enamored by this report in particular. Perhaps it was a local event that they were so captivated by the story. As the report ended, Foggy stood up and broke an awkward silence that had filled the room.

"Wow! I'm glad those girls are okay, and this Devil Man guy went all Liam Neeson - Jedi Master on those crooks!" Foggy said with a silly grin.

"I think you mean Taken, and I also it is not Devil Man..." Karen said with a smirk. "He is Daredevil."

"I get all of them confused now days..." Foggy said as he started walking back to his office. "I mean there is Thundering Hammer Guy and the Incredible Four."

"I think you mean Thor and the Fantastic Four." Matt corrected with a grin.

"Ha..." Foggy chuckled. "Yeah, I know, I just wanted to see if you did."

"Yeah, sure you did." Karen said as she smiled.

"Sure, I did! Hey one of the girls that were rescued is a student at Columbia University...." Foggy said as he was reading on his computer. "Says that she is from Haddonfield, IL... Hmm where have I heard of Haddonfield?"

Karen immediately searched on her phone as Foggy continued to read through the different articles. "Haddonfield, IL is the town that had those murders in 1978 on Halloween night, and then again almost 40 years later!" Karen responded as she remained tranced at the findings on her phone. "Oh my...." Karen said as she put her hand over her mouth.

"What is it?" Matt asked as he started going through legal documents for one of their upcoming cases.

"It was the same guy that did it! A Michael Myers..." Karen said as she had troubling trying to understand what was happening. "On Halloween he murdered his sister and then went to an asylum. He broke out in 1978 and killed several people!"

"Then what?" Foggy asked in disbelief. "He broke out again 40 years later and did it again?"

"That's what the article says." Karen replied. "His first psychiatrist... A Dr. Loomis... Samuel Loomis described him as the most dangerous patient that he had ever observed. An embodiment of evil."

"At least he is probably locked up for good now or dead!" Foggy said as he leaned back in his chair.

"Apparently not..." Karen said as she scrolled to the bottom of the article. "After his attack on Halloween in 2018, he went missing. It was believed he died in a house fire, but no remains were found."

"That sucks!" Foggy said as he looked down.

"As much as I enjoy talking about America's Most Wanted, how about we get to work on the next case. Trial is only a couple days away, and we need to be prepared." Matt said as he tried to change the conversation.

"Right...." Foggy said as he scrambled to reach for his file folders. "Work now, Netflix documentaries later."

Near Columbia University...

It seemed as if the adrenaline would never fade away as Carly sat in the back of the police car. The previous night was terrifying, but there was that relief when she saw the man in red. For what appeared to be an eternity, she was held captive. She feared that she would never see her family again after she was taken. The police were going to drop her off at one of her friend's apartments. It was a friend from her hometown, and she also attended Columbia University. This friend had an apartment with her mother and grandmother. Her friend assured her that she would be safe until her family came to pick her up. Her friend told her that her grandmother would keep her safe. This particular friend had some of her own history that Carly felt as if she could relate to now. This friend, Allyson had experienced trauma on Halloween in 2018 when Haddonfield was terrorized by a masked killer. She lost her father and they both lost some of their mutual friends. Carly was not present for that night's events as she was away with her parents visiting their grandparents a couple town's over. She knew that Allyson was broken from that Halloween, and never felt as if she could relate. Now she, herself has been traumatized by the evils of the world. Her mind raced as she gazed outside at all the passing people. Any of these people that they passed could be the very evil that had caused her so much pain. She shivered in her seat as she realized that she would live with this fear until the end of her days.

The police car started slowing down as they approached a crowd of people. Carly could see swarms of cameras outside the car in front or her friend's apartment complex. As the police car had stopped, the officer quickly went over to open the door for her. Carly saw Allyson coming over toward her with her mother, Karen by her side. She almost let out a chuckle as she saw an older woman with a baseball bat swinging at the people with cameras. "That must be Allyson's grandmother." Carly thought as she followed behind Allyson toward the doors of the complex. She could hear Allyson's grandmother screaming for them to leave them alone. They rushed inside the complex and quickly made their way to the apartment. Karen tried to calm everyone down and said that she could make some warm tea. Allyson’s grandmother Laurie said they would probably need something a stronger than tea as she threw the bat onto the sofa. Allyson and Carly just stood in silence for several moments as Carly tried to keep from breaking down. All these women had been through so much, and now it seemed as if there was an unnatural moment of silence. Karen broke the silence and said that Carly's parents would be there in a day or two as they would be driving in from Haddonfield to pick up their daughter.

As the day ended and night started to set in on the city. Each of the women realized that Halloween was fast approaching. It was a day that Laurie, her daughter, and granddaughter had come to dread since what had happened a few years back. Laurie had carried much pain in her life since she was terrorized all those decades ago. These four survivors sat in their living room sipping a glass of warm tea. Laurie had poured some liquor in her glass, but they refused to turn on the television set. They did not want to watch the reports or the news. These women just sat around each other waiting for these dark days to pass. Eventually, Karen made her way to her bedroom as she grew tired. Allyson was not too far behind as she wanted to get an early start in the morning. It was just Carly and Laurie sitting in the room. Laurie gazed at Carly, and she recognized that look in her eyes.

"Everything is going to be okay." Laurie said as she leaned back on her sofa.

Remembering what had happened and the man in red, Carly could not help but let out a chuckle.  Laurie looked puzzled as she continued to gaze upon the young woman. "What is it?" Laurie asked as she took a sip from her cup.

"The man in red..." Carly said as she thought about the others that were rescued. "He said the same thing to us after he saved us."

Laurie remembered Dr. Loomis all those years ago, and she could not help but think about her own battle with Michael. "You have seen evil... An evil that should not even exist, but.... but it does... You have seen good too. I don't know what to tell you, and honestly...." Laurie said as she struggled to find the right words.

"Allyson told me about what you went through, what... what he did... I... I can't imagine." Carly responded as she tried to keep the conversation going.

"Many believe he died. We trapped him in a burning house, but no body was found.... I guess you remember... your parents probably talked about it. The largest manhunt in Illinois history and... nothing... State police and even national guard... they never found a body...." Laurie said as she reflected on the past couple of years. "After the funeral for Ray, we came here..."

"How did you keep going? What did you do?" Carly asked as she gazed at Laurie.

Laurie glanced at the young woman and saw the tears forming in her eyes. "I survived.... I prepared... I fought..." Laurie said as she looked off. "He killed my friends, my family... I was not going to be a victim again. I became stronger. I became a survivor."

"Do you think he will come back for you?" Carly asked.

"I hope so..." Laurie said with a small smirk. "If he is not dead already, then I will kill him for good." Laurie finally stood up and started walking to the kitchen to put away her cup. "He is probably dead. It has been a couple years. He probably crawled somewhere and is a rotting corpse now."

Carly finally had the strength to go to bed. She laid in the bed with her eyes opened wide. There was still that fear within her heart. "Everything is going to be okay." Those words continued to race through her mind as she still felt that dread deep in her heart. She then thought about what Laurie had said about getting stronger. There was evil in this world, and she saw the warrior that Laurie had become.  Perhaps Caely could become stronger, just as Laurie became stronger in her perseverance.

Haddonfield, IL...

Halloween Night of 2018

Tragedy continued to plague Haddonfield as it watched another bloody Halloween. There was a history in this town that circled around one man. That man was a plague that became something of a legend. Some had called him the Shape while others called him the Boogeyman. Many grew to fear this evil incarnate. In his final escape, he terrorized the town that was once his home. Blood in the streets and bodies piled high, Michael Myers once again became the face of Halloween. He went face to face with one of the survivors from his reign of terror in his first escape. Little did he know, she was not a victim but a fighter. She fought against the Shape and trapped in a fiery prison. She left him to die in the flames. He glared upon her, her daughter, and her granddaughter as the fire swarmed all around. Despite the flames and certain death, the Boogeyman escaped. He crawled from that dungeon that he was left in and walked out of the burning house. The sirens echoed in the night as emergency vehicles neared. Michael Myers started to walk into the tree line. His mask had scorch marks as he walked off into the night. Blood dripped from his damaged fingers and out of the wounds that he had sustained. Despite the wounds, he had something pushing him to keep going. His work was not finished yet. Leaves and sticks crunched underneath the Shape as he continued to walk into the night. Halloween was coming to an end. While his work was far from over, he was free. He disappeared into the darkness of the night as Halloween had come to an end.

Days leading up to Halloween...

It has been a couple years now since that night on Halloween. Haddonfield was preparing for yet another year's Halloween. In the outskirts of the town, the parents of Carly were scrambling as they were preparing for their trek to New York. They were devastated to hear about her disappearance but were delighted to learn of her rescue. There were other young daughters that were rescued. They were horrified by the evil that had taken them but found solace in the fact that there is some good in the world that saved them. As they were prepared for their drive, the husband saw that the door to his shop was wide open. He told his wife that he would be back in a second as he went to go check it out. As he walked closer to the shop, his thoughts were on his daughter. He crept through the door of the shop and saw the light on in the back corner. After turning off the light, he felt something was off. There was a strange odor in the air as he glanced around. He glanced over at his wall of tools and noticed that some of his tools were missing. He let out a chuckle as he thought it was just some kids that were trying to make a quick buck. The man waved his hand through his blonde hair and let out a sigh. Shaking his head, he was about to leave when he turned and saw the Shape. The Boogeyman himself stood before the husband with a hacksaw in his hand. Before the husband could even react, Michael sliced through his neck open as if it were butter. Falling back upon the shop floor, the husband tried to crawl away. Blood dripping beneath him as he tried to get away from the monster. Michael picked up a hammer from the table and started bashing in the man's face. He bashed in his head until there was nothing left except brain and blood scattered throughout the floors.

With his hands covered in blood, Michael peered over the man's lifeless remains. His grip on the hammer was extremely tight as he started walking toward the door. He gazed upon the house and saw movement inside. Without a moment of hesitation, Michael made his way toward the house. He opened the door and heard the television playing down the hallway. The man's wife asked if he was ready to go. The Shape silently walked down the hallway as he made his way toward the woman. She had long brown curly hair that went down to her upper back. The floor squeaked underneath the Shape as he walked toward the woman. "How was the sho..." The woman muttered as she turned around. She stopped as her blue eyes widened at the Shape. She looked into the dark eyes behind the beaten-up mask. In that moment she realized that she was looking into the eyes of madness. Michael lifted the bloodied hammer. "NO PLEASE!" The woman screamed as Michael swiftly swung the hammer. With one quick movement, the Boogeyman bludgeoned the woman between the eyes. Her lifeless body fell back on the hardwood floor beneath her, and her petrified blue eyes stayed open as wide as ever before. Michael gazed over the blood that drained out of the wound on her head. He was about the bash in her face just as he had done with her husband in the shop, but a voice stopped him in his tracks. There was an all too familiar voice that blared from the television. He glanced at the screen and saw the very person that had defeated him before.

Michael leaned down and grabbed the woman's curly hair. He dragged her lifeless body through the house and to the outside. He placed her lifeless body on top of her husband's lifeless body. Michael walked back into the house and picked up the keys the car. He glanced back over at the screen, and saw Laurie Strode along with her family. That rage within him started burning with the desire to finish what he had started all those years ago. As he started walking toward the door, he glanced over at the wooden counter tops. There was a knife set on the countertop. The Boogeyman walked over to the knife set and pulled out the butcher knife. He gazed over the blade and saw his reflection shining off the metal. Michael left the house behind and got into the car. With the engine roaring to life, Michael Myers started his journey to New York.

Halloween...

The areas around Columbia University were filled with students in costumes of all kinds. Some were dressed as the many different areas that fought for the good of human and mutant kind, while others dressed in some questionable costumes. There were many that were trying to have fun with the different parties that fraternities were hosting. For the Strodes, this time of year was simply a reminder of the evils that have occurred in the past. For Carly, she wanted to be home with her parents. She wanted to be away from this city and take a moment to regain the self. She had attempted to contact her parents on multiple occasions, but it had only gone to voicemail on all those attempts. Karen assured her that they were going to be there soon and there were probably just issues with their phone service. This did not comfort Carly much as she was just ready to be home. Karen watched her mom sitting near the window. She watched as Laurie gazed out upon the neighborhood down below, and Karen then glanced over at Allyson who kept to herself. Karen had her own conflict within her as she remembered losing her husband on this time a couple years back, but she needed to do something. She told everyone that she would be back soon as she would go out and get some groceries. She wanted to cook a meal for everyone before Carly's parents arrived. There had to be something that she could do to get their minds off the times that they were in. She had to do something to make this night a little bit better.

Miles away...

For Michael Myers, he approached the city with the car that had belonged to Carly's parents. He stopped at a gas station to fill up the vehicle. As he silently waited next to the vehicle, a group of people had approached him. They all had their face painted with what appeared to be skull shapes. This group approached Michael with laughter as they mocked the man behind the mask. The Shape simply gazed upon the small group as they came closer. One of the members threw an empty liquor bottle at Michael. Another told him that he was in the wrong part of town, and that he had a very nice car. The small group circled around Michael without knowledge of what this monster truly was. The leader of the group stood in front of the towering killer and took out a small blade. Michael could smell the liquor in his breath as the leader rubbed the blade against Michael's chest. He told Michael that he would be taking the vehicle now. The other members of the group simply laughed as the leader mocked the man behind the mask. Without hesitation, Michael pressed his thumb into the leader's right eye and gouged it out. The other members' laughs stopped as their leader started to scream in pain. The Shape then grabbed the leader's head and snapped his neck in one solid motion. The other members of the group tried to attack Michael, but he had taken the blade of their fallen leader. He sliced through one of the other member's necks and crushed another one's legs. They all screamed as the infamous killer of Haddonfield butchered them on Halloween night. The gas station owner watched in horror as the man in the mask got into his car to drive away. He hid behind the counter and prayed that he would not be seen. His hands shook as he dialed 911. He prayed that someone would come quickly as his heart pounded against his chest.

After driving for several moments, Michael stopped outside the apartment complex. He sat silently in the car as he saw the daughter of Laurie Strode walking back to the complex. She was carrying bags in her hands as she slowly started going up the steps. There were several passing people that were all dressed in different costumes. Michael reached over to pick up the butcher knife that he had taken from the house in Haddonfield. Quietly, he opened the door as he moved in the cover of darkness. He made his way into the apartment, just behind Karen. At one moment, she had turned as if she had heard something behind her. Michael hid in the darkness as Karen just stood gazing out into the street. She opened the door to the complex and made her way inside. Michael made his way inside the complex and glanced as Karen started walking up the stairs as the elevator was out of order. The Shape silently stalked Karen as she sauntered up to her floor. As she reached the floor, Karen heard a breathing sound from behind her. She glanced back and her eyes widened as she saw the monster in the mask. Before she could let out a scream, Michael quickly moved toward her and pressed the knife into her chest. Her grabbed her mouth so that she could not let out a sound. He pulled her back into the stairwell. He sliced into her body several times as blood leaked from her flesh. He silently watched as the life faded from her dark eyes and dragged her into a corner.

Moments Before…

Prowling the rooftops and watching over the city as its guardian, Matt was prepared to face a crazy Halloween night. In his time since becoming Daredevil, he had faced many kinds of criminals and had teamed up with several different kinds of heroes. He had faced powerful individuals, but Halloween always brought a unique challenge each year since his time as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. As he leapt from rooftop to rooftop, he heard a police radio in the distance. There was a four-person homicide not far from there. Something strange was said that caught Matt by surprised. The person that murdered those individuals was driving a vehicle with an Illinois license plate, and it was said that he was wearing a burnt up looking white mask. Several thoughts started to run through Matt’s mind as he started to reflect on the past several days. Foggy and Karen were discussing those murders in Illinois. They said that a man in a white mask by the name of Michael had committed murders in 1978 and again in 2018. As Matt continued to listen to the radio, they said that the plates belonged to the parents of one of the girls that he had rescued several nights back. It all came to him now as he realized that this was not a coincidence. He knew that this Michael Myers was coming for her, and he had to stop him before he could finish what he started. As fast as he could, he rushed to where the apartment complex was that the girl was taken to. Those words that he said to those girls that he had rescued started to flood into his mind as he ran across the rooftops. “Everything is going to be okay.” He just hoped and prayed that would be true.

Now…

There was a knock at the door of the apartment. Carly glanced over at Laurie and Allyson as they were just waiting for this night to end. She figured that it was Allyson’s mom trying to get back into the apartment with all the groceries in her hand. Carly stood up and started to walk toward the door. She put her hand on the doorknob and was about to look through the peep hole when a powerful force knocked the door into her. Carly fell back onto the floor and gazed up at the man in the white mask. She had heard the stories but now she was face to face with him. She heard as Allyson let out a horrifying scream and Laurie immediately got to her feet as she pulled out a hunting knife. Before Michael could put his blade into the daughter of the people that he slaughtered in Haddonfield, he heard a noise from down the hallway. Michael slowly turned around and walked back into the apartment hallway. He gazed upon a man in a red suit down the hall.

“Get the girls out of here!” Daredevil roared as Laurie grabbed both Allyson and Carly. She pulled them into the hallway behind Michael, and they all started making their way to the other end of the hall. Michael glared upon the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Blood dripped from Michael’s knife as he started briskly walking toward Daredevil. Matt could smell the blood dripping off the knife as he heard the Boogeyman coming toward him. The Man without Fear took out his batons and stood ready to face off against the man that had spread so much fear on this Halloween night.

Which of the Halloween films are we to consider for Michel Myers?

The Curse of Thorn series (Halloween, II, IV, V and VI)?

The H20 Series (Halloween, II, H20 and Halloween Resurrection)?

The Rob Zombie series?

Or the Halloween Retcon series (Halloween, 2018, Kills)?

This is more the 2018 Retcon version. Haven't seen Kills, but tried to allude to it in the set up with him breaking out in 2018. While also using Laurie, her daughter and granddaughter as supporting characters

I haven't seen the 2018 version of Michael Myers. I only know the Curse of Thorn version.

I couldn't get into the Thorn series too well, but it's been quite a while since I've watched them

Very well written matchup Boratz! I’m impressed!

This is probably gonna be a trickier fight then most people would think. As Laurie herself said during the Halloween Kills trailer, no normal human should have survived that fire, much less have the strength to butcher an entire fire squad just afterwards. I’ll need to check out the full movie to be sure, but if the idea is that Michael at this point is post resurrection Jason Voorhees level of immortality, then Daredevil’s gonna have a hell of a time taking him down.

Now if this was comics Daredevil, the one who can throw his baton hard enough to break through concrete, I could argue that he could win by at least a technical knockout or whatever a baton through the skull would do to Michael. But since the setup seems to indicate that this is Netflix series Daredevil, I might have to side with Michael due to DD not really having the feats needed to kill someone as immortal and strong as Michael.

Thank you, Pizzaguy

Now with Daredevil, he is kind of a composite between the Netflix version and comic book version

Nice work Boratz! I'm leaning DD for the simple reason of him having to deal with weirdos of the Marvel universe.

Thanks Merc!

I'm going with Matt for the fact that Michael won't really be able to get a hand on him. He'll keep coming but Daredevil will eventually figure a way to put him down.

Another great set-up, Boratz! You really set up the atmosphere for the eventual Daredevil/Myers showdown. :)

Since part of the composite Daredevil here is from the comics, I'm thinking he could at least take Myes down long enough for Laurie and the others to get away.
