Raphael was thoroughly enjoying this. He was relishing the entire experience of being in this King of Fighters tournament. He had to give credit to Master Splinter in getting the idea of sending him along with his brothers to this shindig in order to fight against other fighting styles. The experience gained already was something already proving itself to be more of an asset than anything else. He had already been through nine battles, and he had won them all. He also loved the fact that out of his entire group, he was the only Turtle with a solid streak going on. If he were to take this one, then he would be the only one of his team to have a perfect streak of ten. But Raphael recalled the lesson which he had learned from fighting his alternate self, and firmly gripped his steel sai within his hands. Without any hesitation, Raphael quickly rolled his arms forward, moving his twin steel sai out as he took aim for Nakoruru’s mid-section and immediately followed up by spinning the sai in his left hand, gripping the handle and holding the weapon in reverse before he thrust it straight out for the middle of the Ainu priestess’ face.

Nakoruru was none the less quick on her feet, as she swerved out of the path of the incoming sai to the best of her ability. When the strike for her face had come at her, Nakoruru immediately leaned to her left and managed to evade the incoming sai handle. She moved in to get within the Turtle’s range and thrust her kodachi forward for a stabbing motion as she took aim for the Turtle’s plastron. Raphael however, side-stepped to his right and avoided the path of the incoming blade. Nakoruru however, quickly spun her blade within her right hand and moved it down, aiming to strike down onto the ninja’s plastron protected chest but Raphael quick took notice only to then move his sai in his left hand upward and quickly intercepted the kodachi with his own weapon. Sparks erupted when the two weapons made contact, and Raphael turned his sai to lock his weapon with Nakoruru. Raphael then turned the sai within his right hand, gripping and tucking it between his fingers only to turn with his weight and he immediately thrust his arm in a straight punch. Nakoruru widened her eyes as she gasped out in discomfort and sharp pain from the impact, and the blow was enough to cause her to fall back onto her rear. She gasped, working to regain her breath as she also fought to regain her composure.

Raphael pounced forward as he immediately turned both his sai and protruded them forward, aiming to tackle and thrust his arms down to impale them onto Nakoruru’s shoulders. Widened her eyes, the Ainu priestess scrambled and rolled to her right, evading the twin pronged weapons as they now struck at nothing but concrete. Moving to her feet, Nakoruru braced herself for the battle. Her opponent was strong, he hit harder than anything which she had come across. She realized that it was going to be absolutely imperative for her to avoid blows from the mutant Turtle if she was going to last long in this fight. Coughing and still recovering from the blow, Nakoruru worked to rise to her feet, and took notice of Raphael coming at her once more.

The red masked Turtle quickly turned his sai once more and again he thrust his arms down, motioning for a stabbing thrust with his sai as he took aim for Nakoruru again. The Ainu immediately leaned forward and dropped to a roll, moving past Raphael’s feet only to now move onto her feet. Swiftly, she then turned her blade in hand, gripping it in reverse only to move the blade upward in a rising slash as she intended to strike at Raphael’s chest. Sparks erupted as the girl’s kodachi made contact with Raphael’s twin sai as the mutant Red Ear Slider crossed his pronged weapons, deflecting the strikes without faltering. In retaliation, Raphael leaned forward and snapped his left leg forward, his foot pushing up against Nakoruru’s mid-section only to send the young woman stumbling a distance.

However, this would not at all deter the Ainu priestess.

She quickly moved her left arm back, now taking hold of what appeared to be a cloak that had been bundled up. As she did so, the Ainu channeled the energy which was within herself and directed it to flow into the cloak. As soon as the Turtle was close enough to her, Nakoruru unraveled the cloth garment and turned in a spin only to swing it down in direction of her opponent. A glowing pink energy emanated from the garment, fortifying and strengthening it—allowing it to become heavy and strong.

“KAMUI RIMUSE!”

“What the fu--?!”

Raphael found himself stopping in his tracks as the cloth came down on him, smacking down onto the top of his head and he lurched forward from the impact.  Multiple impacts would slam down onto his head and shoulders, and Nakoruru turned and she would swing the cloak upward and strike directly up into Raphael’s chin.

That was something which caught the red masked ninja off guard, and he had seen many attacks that were imbued with energy in this tournament but to take something like cloth and use it as an imbued weapon? He didn’t see that coming. And he didn’t like it… Raphael felt a flicker of flame growing within him, but he recalled how his counterpart from the multiverse fought with anger. The hot-headed Turtle decided not to allow it to get the better of him. He rolled his tongue along his cheeks, and grunted his own displeasure. That would be the extent of his frustrations which he would allow. Raphael then rushed in towards the young Ainu priestess again, and he quickly snapped his left leg down and across, performing a low roundhouse for Nakoruru’s knees. Instead, Raphael would strike at nothing but air as she hopped back and following up with this, the mutant Red Ear Slider thrust his arms forward several times, his sai protruding out as he took aim for her mid-section. Nakoruru was forced to grip her kodachi in hand, moving it across from left to right, deflecting Raphael’s strikes away from herself. The Turtle aggressively moved forward and he leaned forward only to plant his hands onto the ground and throw his weight ahead, now snapping his legs out as he somersaulted.

“CHEST BUSTER!”

Nakoruru felt something impacting into her chest, and she was sent flying back only to hit the front of a nearby vehicle.

“UNNGH!”

She could feel a sharp pain in her chest and breathing was now difficult, as each time she drew from the air— her lungs stung with an intense pain. She moved her left hand up, clutching at her sternum and she worked to fight through the pain which her opponent inflicted upon her. He was quite skilled and that last attack absolutely caught her off guard. Whoever had trained these Turtles, most definitely had proven themselves to be quite the teacher. But recovery would not be long for Nakoruru as she looked to see Raphael coming at her again, rushing as he positioned his sai forward. The Ainu girl quickly fought through the pain and she ran up along the front hood of the truck which she had impacted moments ago. Raphael thrust his arms forward, stabbing his sai into the grill of the vehicle but quickly tensed his arms and yanked back, removing the sai from the truck.

Nakoruru then rushed briefly, only to drop forward and she pushed both her legs out and the bottom of her boots would find themselves slamming directly into the face of the red masked ninja. She shifted her weight into the movement, adding more power to the drop kick and this in turn would send the aggressive ninja doubling back. Raphael shut his eyes as he now felt a pain moving along the front of his face, and he shook his head from side to side, working to fight through the immediate discomfort.

“MAMAHAHA!” Nakoruru shouted.

The hawk soared down from it’s position on the Manhattan Bridge, flapping it’s wings only to ride the wind current and glided in towards Nakoruru. The young woman jumped and moved her hands up, and took hold of the bird’s talons. Both the falcon and priestess held onto one another as Mamahaha flapped it’s wings, now carrying the priestess off from the truck and flew higher out of Raphael’s reach.

Upon regaining his senses, Raphael shot a glare to where Nakoruru had once been only to find that she seemingly was gone. That was until he had looked up. Bewilderment entered Raphael’s train of thought as he now bore witness to seeing a hawk carrying the Ainu girl, and he raised a brow in wonder how such a feat like that was even possible. Were hawks even capable of carrying someone like that normally? But Raphael shut his thoughts off as he now regained his focus on the battle, and the red masked ninja suddenly found the hawk coming in towards him with Nakoruru in tow, and the hawk flew faster as it got closer.

Nakoruru then released her hands from her avian companion, allowing gravity to do the rest for her. However, she again attuned herself to the energy which was within and felt it in the form of a powerful burst. Directing this energy to move through her body and into her right arm and hand, she focused it into her blade which now illuminated in a bright pink energy and now dove right in towards Raphael, only to now slash her kodachi as she brought it across to the left, aiming for his neck region as she performed one of her techniques.

“KAMUI MUTSUBE!”

Raphael crossed his sai together, blocking the strike and the red masked ninja turned as Nakoruru dropped down to her feet, and now was preparing another attack. He spun his weapons and readied himself for defensive action. He turned to meet his opponent, watching as again her blade illuminated in a bright glow. Quickly, she dashed forward and the Ainu girl now charged at the red masked hot-headed ninja and she gripped her blade in reverse as she then swung it across, intending to slash at Raphael’s side.

“ANNU MUTSUBE!”

Raphael widened his eyes, seeing that his opponent was taking a much more aggressive approach. He tensed his leg muscles, now pushing himself forward and he leapt over Nakoruru and dove in towards the ground only to then plant both his hands and he somersaulted forward, only to flip himself back onto his feet. Turning his sai within his grasp, Raphael then rushed in towards Nakoruru as she turned to meet him. Quickly, he would part his arms as he slashed with his weapons, taking aim for Nakoruru’s face but the priestess positioned her kodachi in defensive manner, blocking the strike from the twin sai only to buckle from the force of the impact. Raphael twirled the sai within his left hand, gripping it firmly only to thrust it down for the Ainu girl’s right shoulder. Nakoruru quickly positioned her weapon horizontally and intercepted the sai with her blade. Raphael then thrust the sai within his right hand quickly, intending on driving it for his opponent’s mid-section but Nakoruru quickly lowered her blade and side-stepped to her left only to then snap her right leg out in a roundhouse kick. Her foot firmly impacted Raphael’s plastron, but the Turtle took it head on and went into pursuit.

The red masked ninja then had thrust his arms forward and out, moving his sai in for Nakoruru’s shoulders, but the Ainu priestess stepped back and slashed her kodachi horizontally, deflecting the strikes from the pronged weapons. In retaliation, she snapped forward and slashed her blade downward as she took aim for Raphael’s face. The mutant reptile crossed his twin sai together, parrying the strike without even buckling. He parted his weapons from one another, and he leapt forward only to raise his left leg up and snapped his right out as he intended to strike at Nakoruru’s chin. Instead, Nakoruru had side-stepped to her left and managed to evade the incoming strike.

Seeing his opponent evade, Raphael then shifted forward with a step only to then snap his left leg downward and horizontally, then bringing it back and snapping it across in the same manner two more times but aimed for his opponent’s mid-section and head. Nakoruru had stepped back, now slapping her right hand down to deflect the roundhouse kicks to the best of her ability but when the last kick had come, she leaned back, allowing Raphael’s foot to strike at nothing but air.

However, Raphael would perform the motion of performing a roundhouse kick from his left but stopped and pulled back only to then turn in a spin and he would thrust his right leg forward and out as he turned—now performing a spinning back thrust kick. Nakoruru widened her eyes and then gasped as she felt something striking into her mid-section and she wrapped her arms around herself, now working to catch her breath as she fell onto her rear.

“Hugghuaaah!” She gasped, coughing as she worked to regain her breath.

Raphael saw that his opponent was down, if he was going to be winning this— he might as well end it while he could. He rushed forward, his sai firmly gripped in hand. The red masked ninja then moved his sai forward as he rushed on, zeroing right on the Ainu girl.

However, Nakouru had simply pointed her right hand out to her opponent and shouted as she gave the command to attack. From above, Mamahaha came down soaring right in towards Raphael but at speeds which were never before seen for an avian to perform. And suddenly, the falcon now emanated a bright reddish glow around itself. Raphael widened his eyes in shock— as he had never expected an animal to do something like this before.

“WHAT THE FLYING FU— UUUGH!!”

Raphael was struck by the falcon as the bird impacted him with a mighty force, causing the Turtle to stop in his tracks and fall onto the concrete flat onto his carapace. When the attack had been executed and landed, Mamahaha turned while in mid-flight and flapped her wings and repositioned them to fly upwind to achieve a higher altitude. This was more than enough time for Nakoruru to recover as she took in several breaths, now pushing herself to her feet.

Donatello had widened his eyes at what he had just seen—what he had thought was seemingly an ordinary animal now possessed a power as well, one which was similar if not the same as which many of the contenders in this tournament wielded. If an animal was able to perform this feat— then could he and his brothers? He turned his head and looked over to Michelangelo and Leonardo, both of whom were stunned to see this as well. Michelangelo dropped his jaw as he then widened his eyes, shaking his head in complete and utter disbelief. Leonardo, dropped his jaw and furrowed his brows as he now tilted his head to the right to eventuate his shock.

Raphael then placed his hands firmly onto the ground and then pushed himself to rise to his feet. A flicker of fire burned within his eyes and he could feel that heat within swelling inside of himself, threatening to explode. He grit his teeth and now was breathing with fury— but he recalled how his counterpart fought, uncontrolled and blinded by his own wrath at the possibility of his own defeat. Raphael took in a deep breath of air through his nostrils and then released a sigh from within as he nodded, working to regain control over himself. Rather than allowing the anger to burn within himself, the red masked Terrapin decided to simply let it go. He rolled his shoulders and gripped his sai firmly as he set back into his own fighting stance, and Raphael puffed his cheeks out as he continued to undo the tension which had been built up inside of him.

“Good Raph, you’re in control of this… You got this.” Leonardo whispered.

Nakoruru stepped forward and began running in towards the Turtle, and Mamahaha flapped her wings and soared in after her companion. Raphael stepped ahead and he too began running as fast as he could, now unleashing a yell from within. The two were about to collide, until Nakoruru pushed herself up and threw her weight up as she took to the air some eight feet, performing a mid-air reverse somersault. Mamahaha flew overhead the Ainu, and Nakoruru moved her hands to grab a hold of the falcon’s talons. A trail of reddish colored energy trailed behind Nakoruru and her falcon companion as both flew upwards and circled back, now soaring right in towards Raphael.

“AR RETAR KAMUYHUM MAKIRI!” Nakoruru shouted.

She released her grip from Mamahaha and soared right towards the Turtle as she gripped her kodachi within her grasps and thrust it forward for a stabbing blow as she took aim for Raphael’s mid-section. Nakoruru was close here, and she had caught the ninja off guard and she was sure that she could do it again.

Raphael turned to meet his opponent, and he thrust his sai forward and intercepted Nakoruru’s blade between his pronged weapons. He tensed up all of the muscles within his entire body, drawing upon the vast amounts of strength as he stopped her attack from stabbing into him. With more strength focused, Raphael turned his twin sai and successfully accomplished what he had wanted to do… With a mighty snap, Nakoruru widened her eyes as her kodachi was now snapped into pieces and she gasped as she took a step back.

“N-NANI?!”

Raphael quickly scrambled forward as he dropped his twin sai and then moved around to get behind Nakoruru. He moved his arms out and placed his right arm around the top of her head and placed his left around her neck to apply a sleeper hold onto her. The red masked ninja then lifted her up off from the ground, her feet no longer touching the asphalt. Nakoruru could feel the constriction around her neck and she gasped and coughed. She could feel her eye lids getting heavy, and her limbs getting flaccid. With whatever remaining strength she remaining, uttered the only word which she able to let out as she wearily moved her right hand up and tapped at Raphael’s left arm.

“A…Akirameru….”

Raphael then released his grasp from Nakoruru’s neck, tossing her onto the ground and then threw his arms up in celebration of his hard earned tenth consecutive victory. Michelangelo pumped his hands, cheering for his brother. Donatello nodded as he felt that this was another well earned victory. Leonardo had to give credit where it was due for Raphael as he now stepped over to his hot blooded sibling, and placed his right hand down onto his shoulder. The two brothers, often rivals, had nothing but a mutual respect for one another. But Leonardo’s respect for his brother only grew after having seen him control his anger, something which he had been urging Raphael for the longest time to do.

“Oy! Kappa! You and your brothers have proven themselves to be worthy opponents!” A familiar voice boomed through the Manhattan Bridge.

Leonardo and Raphael looked ahead, now seeing Haohmaru stepping his way over towards the two now with his katana held firmly in hand. The samurai now looked over to Leonardo, giving him a curt nod before he had held his sheathed weapon in both his palms, and bowed as a sign of respect to the ninja. The gesture in itself was a powerful one which Leonardo had not at all been expecting and he was moved by it.

“Haohmaru… I’m moved, but… I can’t. The gesture is appreciated but—“

“I insist. You only offend me if you refuse. You’ve earned it.”

Leonardo looked over to Raphael, and then back over to Haohmaru. He moved a hand out and then took hold of the sheathed weapon within his grasp and now lifted it off from the samurai’s palms.

“My only request is that you return it to me whenever you win the tournament or are eliminated from it. Consider it as a temporary replacement for the one blade of yours which I broke! An act of good will!” Haohmaru nodded.

Raphael stepped his way to Nakoruru and as he had moved his hands to slip his twin sai down to his utility belt, he then extended his right hand out—offering to help the Ainu girl to her feet. Nakoruru, still reeling from being caught in such a hold placed a hand to her neck and coughed before looking up and then moved her left hand to his, and was pulled to her feet.

The display of good sportsmanship between the Turtles and the Samurai Spirits team was met with applause and cheers from the crowd. Both teams had given their all, both breaking through each other’s limits and only becoming stronger and better from it all.

But the only thing now on the Turtles minds… was just how far they could go in this tournament?

In the hours which had passed since the battle between the Turtles and the Samurai Spirits team had engaged one another in grueling combat, the brothers had taken the time to mend themselves and recover. Adequate meal and drink had been enjoyed to nourish and strengthen themselves and even naps were taken in between as well, all to further aid in their recovery and further rejuvenate. They had also taken the time to watch several matches in between, taking note of the competition which they could potentially face. The time to reflect and meditate upon their newly gained experience was something that they had discussed and taken, allowing the brothers to find within themselves on what they had built upon or what needed to be further developed. They realized that in time, they would be facing opponents who would possess abilities and skills which they never have even seen or would even dream of seeing. But it was a possibility which they would aim to brace themselves for.

The Turtles had been notified of their next location for their appointed battle, and it had been designated over at a warehouse in Manhattan. The address had been given to the brothers, and it was decided that they would arrive there on foot. It hadn’t been long before the brothers would arrive to their location, meeting a tournament staff member who possessed the keys to the building, and allowed entry to the four red masked Turtles.

“So this is the place?” Leonardo asked.

“I think our fight area is further up. Might as well get a feel for it before we meet our opponents.” Donatello responded.

The Turtles proceeded further down the warehouse, but as they moved along they took the time to evaluate and inspect their surroundings. It was large and spacious but also still seemed to provide high ground and even cover as there were still many crates containing whatever it was that this particular warehouse seemed to store. As ninja, it was generally a good idea to get a grasp of the environment and look for any advantages that it would be able to provide in the midst of battle.

Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael moved towards what appeared to be the docking area of the warehouse. There were several trucks parked in the area as well as many crates which could provide covering and allow for stealth if things had ever gotten too heated for them in battle.

As they drew further into the docking area of the warehouse, the Turtles noticed four individuals who had been waiting for them to make their appearance. One of them was a young man donned in what seemed to be a Japanese school uniform, though the jacket was open to show a white T-shirt and he also had on a white headband while also sporting a pair of dark blue fingerless gloves which had a sun design on them. Another was a man who appeared to be quite thin, wearing a black shirt which was tight on his chest and shoulders, wearing a pair of light colored skinny jeans and also sported blonde hair that was unusually styled up. Another was a large stoic appearing man who was rather muscular and donned a white headband, a pair of Karate gi pants, and Japanese wooden sandals. The last man was an older individual, one who seemed to be sporting a men’s kimono which utilized dark colors while wearing a pair of red gloves which also had the sun design on them and also what appeared to be prayer beads around his neck.

“Well, here come the guests of honor!” The blonde haired man spoke out as he nudged his head towards the Turtles.

“So these are the four unusual ones who have come pretty far in the tournament. Quite unusual indeed.” The large Japanese muscle man added.

Both teams then had stepped in towards one another, stopping with only several feet of space between them. Each and every member from both sides took a moment to size each other up before the silence between them was broken.

“You must be our opponents! I am Shingo Yabuki, and over here are Benimaru Nikaido, Goro Daimon and my teacher, Saisyu Kusanagi.” The young man with the white bandana and school uniform spoke.

“You four must be very strong and powerful to come as far as you did! We hope to have a good match!” Benimaru said.

Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael looked to one another before they focused their attention onto the opposition. So far, it seemed as if a lot of the competition in this tournament seemed to be quite friendly although few were brash and overly confident.

“I’m Leonardo. These are my brothers… Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello.”

“I suggest we get started. No point in dawdling any longer.” Saisyu spoke.

Both sides had stepped back from one another and took a moment to discuss on which of them would be going first to bat. The Turtles had huddled in with one another.

“Alright… let’s go over on who’s gonna lead up.” Raphael spoke.

“Well, Leo went first last time… Then it was me, and then it was Don and you were last. I hope you guys won’t mind if I decide to try first!” Michelangelo chimed.

“Go for it, bro.. You earned it!” Donatello grinned.

“Just watch yourself out there, Mikey!” Leo nodded.

The four brothers parted and Michelangelo stepped forward. As the red masked wily reptile moved on, Shingo would be the first to break rank from his team as he now approached the Turtle. Both now closed the gap of space, only to stop with only five feet of concrete floor between them.  Shingo clenched his hands firmly into fists and he set himself into the Kusanagi style fighting stance. Michelangelo moved his hands to his utility belt and then drew his nunchaku, now spinning them within his grasp.

The first match between the Turtles and Team Japan now commenced.

The next and latest match for the Mirage TMNT storyline has been posted and I apologize for it taking so long, as real life has gotten in the way of my writing and I needed to also figure out as to where I was going to go with the next part of the story. Writing out the recap between Raphael and Nakoruru was both easy and difficult, in that I had happened to have a video of Nakoruru's movesets and was able to incorporate them into the recap but the issue was a matter of timing in trying to crank the recap out and I was unable to meet my self imposed deadline, because I had to help my mother in house hunting and I just simply also had to help her cope with her depressing which is related in trying to find a house in a rather terrible real estate market. None the less... the recap is done.

I felt as if the direction to go was leading to here but at the same time I also had trouble figuring out on who the fourth member of Team Japan was going to be, and ultimately decided on Saisyu Kusanagi. Also, this marks Shingo's CBUB debut and I felt that he was a very appropriate character for someone like Michelangelo to face, as both are characters whom are underestimated perhaps unfairly-- with Michelangelo's reputation being sullied by his multiversal counterparts such as his 1987, 2003 and 2012 counterparts and Shingo often being seen as the wannabe Kyo Kusanagi. So hopefully, this will be something of an entertaining match.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

Michelangelo is Low Tier Superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation and training.

Michelangelo possesses his Twin Nunchaku, Shurikens, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai.

Shingo Yabuki is at Peak Conditioning due to his training.

Shingo Yabuki has his moveset from the KOF games.

I was wondering who was up next. This one is a good matchup. I remember thinking Shingo was a chump character but his moves are pretty tight. I think he can beat Mikey.

As far as I know about Shingo, he was originally a joke character who surprisingly became an actual protagonist who actually has some potential. However, he's still come up relatively come up short in comparison to someone like Kyo Kusanagi. I do know that he's being trained by Saisyu in KOF continuity but he hasn't really developed any powers per se, and as far as I know, his techniques still need refinement. I do know he's held out against against Orochi Iori but was beaten, badly.

But as far as experience goes, I would think that Michelangelo has him trumped as well as in the area of training as well. Michelangelo's fought Foot ninja, Triceraton gladiators and soldiers, other mutants much like himself, supernatural entities and many other things where as Shingo hasn't really had nearly as much experience-- and Michelangelo's for the most part, won against such entities where as Shingo's only held the line until someone like Kyo showed up.

I’ll put my money on Michelangelo. While both Shingo and him are goofy, lighthearted characters who don’t really take things seriously, I think Mikey just has better experience and training then Shingo, especially after everything he’s been through during this arc! I think he’s actually gone through tougher adversity during Rakai’s storyline then Shingo has gone through his entire canon story lol.

That's one for Shingo and one for Michelangelo!

Good attention to detail in terms of customs and behavior there Rakai, it is great to see how the Turtles have interacted with ancient Japanese warriors and what positives have emanated from said interactions with them. These fights in particular have worked out well for the Turtles, because it has given them a greater basis of appreciation for the culture and the customs that Splinter has imbued in them over the years, a good thing for them in terms of broadening their connection to the man who has acted like a father to them and to the areas of their family that have connected them too over the years.

The fighting again, is as intense as it is important to the story, and without it the story wouldn't work out quite the same way, but with it and in addition to it, the story works well in each match, as an opportunity for the Turtles to grow in different via each of the characters and personalities they encounter along the way. In other words though, just as the Turtles themselves have mentioned, and Splinter too, the tournament, the matches and the events surrounding it themselves, have been nothing but beneficial to the Turtles, as each and every one has brought the Turtles an even greater chance of growing in different ways than those they may have been accustomed too.

In terms of the fighting between Mikey and Shingo, I see it going over pretty well as Mikey will find a way to defeat Shingo in some manner, so long as he can keep his guard up and block Shingo's thrusts and upper body attacks. The fight won't be an easy one for him here, just as the others haven't been, and he'll have to also keep an eye on Shingo's high kick strikes in their battle, but if he can keep focused on Shingo and anticipate what he might do, I can see Mikey outpacing Yabuki in their match up, and even if he is lucky maybe getting a few good jabs and strikes at his hips for example, a pretty decent weak point on his body.

Yeah, I would think that even though Shingo originally started off as a comedy relief character, he's really become the kind of character who evolved past that and has become a protagonist character in his own way to where he's got a lot of potential. But the same thing could be said about Michelangelo, although in the case of Michelangelo his potential is more developed as he has had proper training from the get go where as Shingo mostly took notes from watching Kyo fight, and had to mimic them with... rough results, but only was recently taken in by Saisyu Kusanagi. I thought this would be an even match as far as the contestants go because of the similarities which they so happen to share with one another.

Another great set-up, Rakai. You captured just the right tone for the Raph/Nakoruru recap, with both Nakaruru applying her agility and Raph using his aggression as needed. You apparently also wrote in many of Nakoruru's moves and, if I'm not mistaken, Raph's Chest Buster from Tournament Fighters?

Raphael was struck by the falcon as the bird impacted him with a mighty force, causing the Turtle to stop in his tracks and fall onto the concrete flat onto his carapace.

There's actually some truth to a move like this. Birds of prey are pretty damn strong in real life. In fact, I've heard a bald eagle's dive can hit hard enough to knock a grown man off his feet.

As for the match, I think Mikey can win this. As mentioned, he surely has superior fighting experience to Shingo, and the Turtles have fought and defeated more experienced and powerful KoF fighters earlier in this arc.

Thank you! Yeah, I had a good reference video for Nakoruru's moves to be implemented into the recap. And Raphael's chest buster is indeed from Tournament Fighters.

That's very interesting to know about birds of prey being strong enough to knock a person off their feet with a nose dive attack! I had no idea about that!

Thanks for your input and insight! Glad to hear from you!
