The heroes in Egypt were the pharaohs or the gods themselves. If we assume a non-god for the hero, then this includes the might of the entire Egyptian army, including priests etc. which be more than enough to stop any norse hero.

That's quite a stretch, and also sets it up to just be a Norse vs Egypt epic fantasy.
