RiotGear Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Cuchulain was a warrior prince. Bragi was a poet.
Pizzaguy2995 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Sorry Bragi but you drew a bad scenario and opponent here. Cu Chulainn should be the favorite to win this match.
Culwych1 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Hmmm, I'm wondering if this is as clear cut. Bragi is a bard in Valhalla... literally the hall of the bravest warriors and was a god that was actively prayed to. For viking warriors, their bards were hugely important. Cu Chulainn didn't seem to have a following as such, and is more of a hero similar to Achilles. Still leaning towards Cu Chulainn, but not sure it's that easy a win.

Cu Chulainn is also viewed as an incarnation of his father Lugh who was a warrior god king. He also led armies and women flocked to him, so he was not with out followers in his own time Even in modern times his image is still invoked by the Irish Defence Force and fighters on both sides of the conflicts in Northern Ireland. In other words regardless of how we classify him he had and still has a following among warrior peoples.
