East meets West, but aren't Amazons in mythos beyond the scope of normal warriors? I think this gives them the edge.

This was something of a point of contention last time, but no. In myth, they're often depicted as warrior-women who are on par with men

If that's the case then I switch sides and go with steel > bronze. Even if it is low grade Japanese iron used to make it.

Then again this may not be using weapons at all, this is capture the flag like in camp. Where you generally don't use weapons.

There are accounts of the Amazons into the middle ages. So they should have access to steel as well and it's likely to be of a higher quality.
