Shang Chi is just going to avoid the bullets.

While not guns, he avoided projectile arrows from the Ten Rings soldiers. 

Either way though, dude received intense training as a child to be an assassin before ditching it entirely at 15. He was no doubt trained to avoid any sort of gun or projectile weaponry.

I would say that arrows are not comparable to guns in terms of speed. I am a very casual archer, but doing a little quick math I have some numbers that don't look good for comparison with bullet stats.

If we assume a pretty standard draw of 30 inches and a pull of a rather impressive 100 pounds with a 350 grain arrow gives us an arrow velocity of 354 ft/s.

A relatively weak .22 bullet has a muzzle velocity of 740 ft/s-1650 ft/s.

A heavy machine gun in WW2 had a velocity of 2700 ft/s.

I think BJ's guns are dangerous. I think if Shang gets to melee he still can win this, but I don't think it is as easy as it might appear at first though.

He does go for melee anyway. I do know however of a deleted where he did disarm a guard using wit to grab his gun.
