Yeah the MI has this, their guns would mow the Equalists down, and even if they closed the distance the MI are no slouches in hand to hand.

The Equalists just can't out of the arena, huh, EMPIRE?

Gotta think on this one.

Yeah man I'm sorry. This was one thing when you hadn't lost a round, but now.

Guys with machine guns and rocket launchers vs guys with batons and nerve strikes in an open arena just isn't fair.

In a lot of ways this is Cowboys vs Equalist again. Except the M.I have more firepower, but ironically less mobility then the cowboys. As they lack horses or vehicles.

I guess both sides have power armor/mechs, but I doubt they count as cannon fodder for either group.

Eh, may as well give this a try ...

The moment the fight starts, the Equalists could throw down some gas grenades to give themselves some cover and possibly disorient the Infantry troopers. While it's true that the troopers could also start the batlle trying to mow down the Equalists, they may not tag them all, giving the remaining Equalists opportunities to scatter and possibly ensnare some with their bolas and electrical discs (which they won't be dodging with nearly the ease that Tenzin did here).

Also, while the trooper may be trained combatants, I seriously doubt they'd be as quick and formidable as the Equalists can be up-close.

Note that Korra and Mako are very likely stronger, quicker, and better at melee than the average Infantry trooper.

Between their chi-blocking, bolas, and electrical gloves, I'm thinking the troopers would be in serious trouble if the Equalists manage to close the gap.

They could try throwing gas grenades but automatic fire would still be coming in really fast as well as explosive rockets.

The MI is used to fighting foes that want to close the distance. The squad will close up and fire keeping each other covered.

If the troopes do close up, that could make them even easier targets to get collectively wrapped up in the bolas and electrical discs.

The Empire does not care..... oh wait, you mean Umpire. I think he's pretty apathetic too.
