A Battle of Time

 

In all his travels throughout time, Kang had come to learn that time was ever changing. Through countless battles and conquests, his knowledge of time grew exponentially. With many victories came defeats. While Kang enjoyed the spoils of his successes, he did take the opportunities to learn in his failures. In all his conquests, there was an era in time that he found to be nearly impossible to conquer. The descendent of the great Reed Richards, found that the Age of Heroes was an era that was near impossible to conquer. From the Mighty Avengers to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four These heroes proved to be worthy adversaries in his goal to conquer time.  In the countless battles, Kang the Conqueror could anticipate his opponents. With his knowledge of time, he had a vast knowledge of the future. Despite this near unlimited knowledge, the Age of Heroes often proved to be his downfall.

 

As he sat upon his throne, several thoughts through his mind. He gazed upon the world that he had conquered in the 31st century, and could see that time was unkind to the world that he knew. Kang conquered the world, not out of malintent but to save it from annihilation. Through countless wars and disregard for the planet, the world was dying. Kang saved the planet and the people through conquering the 31st Century. In his victory, he knew he could save his time by conquering the past. Despite his many attempts, he was defeated time and time again. Gazing out upon his world, he sighed as he watched from as far as the eye could see. While watching over his dynasty, he noticed that the world was different.

 

Kang started searching for the reasons behind this difference in the world that he remembered. After searching through records of the world, he found an event that was unlike any that he had seen before. There was an anomaly in the 21st century.  "What have those fools done?" Kang said under his breath as he gazed upon the records. He found that this anomaly was not the result of the Age of Heroes but of something else entirely. The Conqueror found that a race of sentient robotic lifeforms had come to Earth. A war was waged between this race of lifeforms and the Heroes that Kang had battled before. This war had gone on for years and saw the deaths of heroes and villains alike. As a result of the war, the history that Kang had known was different.

 

The Master of Time hissed at the thought of traveling back to the 21st Century. He tried to become familiar with the records as to when this anomaly occurred but the historical records were not complete. Kang knew he had to travel to the past and fight against this threat before there was an all-out war. As he started his time-chair, the infamous tyrant started to smile. A thought came across his mind as he remembered that time is ever changing. Despite his many battles that he had with his enemies; he could use this opportunity to Conqueror all of time. As he traveled to the past, he realized that there was not much record as to what these lifeforms were or what they were capable of. He knew where the first battle would occur and he knew that is where he had to make his stand. 

 

As the Conqueror arrived in the year 2022 in the streets of a city in Australia. He found himself in the city where the first sighting of these machines had been documented. He grinned as he overheard a television discussing the Avengers and X-Men's latest combined efforts to stop another worldly threat. This moment of triumph would send end with the arrival of this robotic army. The Master of Time gritted his teeth at the thought of being an ally to the Avengers or the Fantastic Four, but he knew that the ends would justify the means. If this anomaly came forth, it could destroy the very fabric of Kang's reality. 

 

The Master of Time then used his chair to teleport himself to the Avengers Mansion. Sirens echoed throughout as security protocols went into effect. Kang laughed as he tore through some of Tony Stark's greatest drones. He then he the roars in the distance and saw the sky darkening above him. "It's about time." Kang muttered under his breath as the Incredible Hulk and the Mighty Thor confronted the intruder. Kang was able to block their attacks and waited for the rest of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes to arrive. He watched as Iron Man flew down from the skies and Captain America came with Black Widow and Hawkeye. Ant-Man and Wasp arrive shortly after, while Spider-Man came swinging in front a nearby building. Wolverine appeared with the Sentry and Falcon. Vision flew down and landed next to Hercules.

 

"What are you doing here, Kang?!" Captain America shouted as he pointed his shield as the time traveling fiend.

 

A smile formed across Kang's face as he gazed upon the Avengers. "All of this..." Kang said as he looked around. "And you still cannot prevent what is about to come upon you." Kang said mockingly.

 

"Watch your next words carefully!" Thor warned as he had Mjolnir ready for an attack.

 

"I am not here to fight..." Kang said as he put out his hands. "I am here to provide help in the coming days."

 

The faceplate on Tony's Iron Man helmet lifted up, revealing Stark's face. Tony looked around at all of his destroyed security that was caused by Kang. The Armored Avenger sighed as he rolled his eyes. He glared upon the time traveling maniac.

 

"What do you want?" Iron Man asked as he gritted his teeth.

 

"I told you." Kang replied with a cold voice.

 

Tony gave a quick glance at Steve and then glared back upon Kang. "Yeah... You want to provide us your help." Steve said as he lowered his shield. "Help against what?"

 

"Now that is the question that is worth all the time in the world..." Kang said as he gazed upon the Captain. "One that I intend to find the answer to."

 

"Huh." Stark chuckled. "For someone that claims to be the Master of Time, you don't know what you are helping us against! The self proclaimed past, present and future... And you are clueless." Stark said mockingly with a smirk.

 

"Hold your tongue, Stark." Kang warned as he gave a piercing glared. "You are nothing more than an antique."

 

"That is enough!" Steve shouted as he pointed his shield at Kang. "What is it that you are helping us against?!"

 

"A war is coming. One that was not originally in history. An anomaly that is not from this time or even this universe." Kang said as he glanced up into the clouds. "This war will ultimately change the course of history. It will destroy my time."

 

"What enemies will be face?" Thor asked as he dropped his hammer and glared upon Kang.

 

"Sentient machines." Kang responded as he glanced at the Mighty Asgardian. "History was not clear on what they were." 

 

"How long do we have?" Natasha asked.

 

"The first sighting and attack are in less than a day. It will be in Australia." Kang responded as he glanced at the assassin.

 

"Didn't exactly give us much time!" Natasha responded with frustration.

 

"I gave you all the time in the world." Kang said with a smile.

 

"Don't think we won't be keeping our guard up!" Steve roared as he faced the Master of Time.

 

"I would not expect anything less." Kang responded as he watched the Avengers preparing to head to Australia.

 

Cybertron

 

War waged on between the Autobots and the Decepticons. There was no end in sight and the planet that was home to so many was on its last stretch of life. Megatron battled against Optimus Prime time and time against. Their countless battles had proven to be a strain against the planet of Cybertron. Megatron sought the control of the planet but Optimus had proven to be a thorn in his side. The end was near for Cybertron. In a bid to save his people, the Decepticon leader abandoned his dying home. Megatron and his Decepticon army searched the moon and stars in hopes of finding a new home. He heard that his enemies had found a backwater planet with a primitive race of life. Megatron had set his sights for this planet. He knew that the war between him and Optimus Prime was far from over. Megatron would have his victory over the Autobots and he would conquer this new world. The Decepticon army traveled through the endless abyss of space and headed for this primitive planet. 

 

While traveling through the endless abyss of space, the Decepticon carrier was met by an unexpected force within the galaxy. It was cosmic storm unlike anything Megatron or his army had seen before. This cosmic storm had taken ahold of the Decepticon ship. Flickers of light and darkness engulfed the ship within this powerful force. The army of sentient machines tried to escape this cosmic storm but they were dragged into the center of this powerful anomaly. The Decepticon leader scrambled as he tried to escape from what he perceived would be certain death. There were flashes of light that sparked in all directions and it seemed as if the world around Megatron was ripping itself apart. In a moment of what seemed to be the end, Megatron had a brief moment of reflection. He pondered on his failures in his war against the Autobots and Optimus Prime. His battles against Prime haunted Megatron as he screamed at the thought of losing to the Autobot leader. This would not be his end. This would not be how his rule would end. The Decepticon leader knew that he was destined for so much greater than his failures against Optimus Prime. Megatron would have his vengeance against Optimus Prime and take his rightful place.

 

Megatron hissed as he took control of the large Decepticon carrier and pushed through the reaches of this cosmic storm. After what seemed to be the end of all things, Megatron and his army came into a moment of calm. The flashes of light and the intense darkness soon faded away. The Decepticon carrier floated through the vacuum of space as the ship started to roar to life once again. The journey was far from over. They still had their sights for this young primitive planet, but something was different. The universe that surrounded the Decepticon ship was far different than the one that they had known before they encountered that cosmic storm. 

 

Earth...

 

As they approached the planet, they could not find any signs of the Autobots. Starscream did a scan of the surrounding stars, but there was no trace of their enemies. Upon landing on this new world, Megatron was disgusted by the life that was around him. As his followers surrounded him, the Decepticon leader glared at the skies above. This world was far different than the home they knew.

 

"If Optimus Prime and his pathetic Autobots are not on this planet..." Megatron hissed as he glared upon his followers. "There will be none that can stand in our way."

 

"What are our orders?" Shockwave screeched as he gazed upon Megatron.

 

"Take Starscream and Soundwave. Scout out this primitive planet! Then report back to me." Megatron ordered as he started to look around his surroundings. 

 

As Megatron watched some of his Decepticon followers disappear into the horizon, he commanded the rest to set up defenses. He looked over his surroundings. From lush vegetation to small creatures running through the long blades of grass, the Decepticon leader grew disgusted with the world around him. This place was not the home that he hoped for, but it had potential. The powerful Decepticon reached down and picked up one of these lifeforms from the ground. He watched over as the creature squirmed in his hand. It had claws and teeth that tried to break away from the grip of the Decepticon leader. Despite the creature's many attempts to break free from Megatron's grasp, it was useless against the Emperor of Destruction. 

 

"Lesser creatures are the playthings to my will." Megatron said with a chilling voice as he crushed the wild animal in his hand.

 

Megatron peered into the sky above. While looking over the clouds, he then steered at the remaining Deceptions. "These lifeforms will serve us well! This world will be our home!" The Decepticon leader hissed as he pointed at the horizon. With no opposition from Optimus Prime or the treacherous Autobots, they could take this world and make it their own.

 

The Battle of Australia...

 

Flying high over the Earth, Starscream watched over the lands below. He transformed himself into surrounding fighter planes that he encountered in the skies. As he approached the land of Australia, he felt a presence close behind. The Decepticon growled as he flew back and attacked a drone that was flying high in the clouds. Starscream watched as the pieces of the drone fell to the Earth below. The pieces of the drone landed in the middle of a busy street. The Decepticon landed on top of a building and glared down upon the crowds of people. Many had gathered to look over the wreckage. A smile formed across the Decepticon's face as he aimed a canon at the unsuspecting crowds. He wanted to see how weak these lifeforms truly were.

 

Before the wretched Decepticon could unleash an attack upon these people, lightning had shot across the skies above. Starscream gazed up at the skies and felt a powerful force hitting him in the chest. The Decepticon was knocked from the rooftop and into an abandoned building. Starscream pushed the bricks and debris off of him. He pushed himself off the ground and watched through the blinding dust as crowds were being evacuated from the area. The Decepticon could hear what sounded like an animalistic growl. Starscream saw a glimpse of a green monster that knocked him into the street. As the dust settled, the dangerous Decepticon pushed himself to his feet once against. He quickly armed himself withhis cannon and got ready to attack. As the dust cleared and the world around became clear, the Decepticon saw what appeared to be a team surrounding him.

 

Starscream growled as he transformed into the jet and took into the skies above. Iron Man and Thor tried to follow close behind, but the Decepticon was able to blast them down from the sky. Iron Man tried to track this robotic creature but none of his satellites were able to get a trace on it. As the Avengers gathered together, they were shocked by how this being was able to transform from a massive robot into a fighter jet. It had weapons that were not of Earth. 

 

 

"Damn!" Tony said as he shook his head.

 

"We will find it!" Steve said as he glanced at the sky and then at Stark.

 

"None of my satellites have picked up on this thing! Whatever it is, it can definitely stay off radar!" Tony said as shook his head. "I need a drink."

 

"Those transforming robots are not our only problem!" Natasha said as she walked in front of Tony and Steve. "We still have Kang to worry about too!"

 

"He definitely has something up his sleeve." Steve said as he looked at Natasha. "He always does."

 

Master of Time against the Emperor of Destruction

 

Kang watched from a distance as Starscream disappeared into the clouds. A cold smile formed across his face as he tracked the robotic sentient. Upon following Starscream back to the massive Decepticon carrier, Kang surveyed the area from a distance. He watched over the robots as they transformed into vehicles.

 

"Robots in disguise." Kang said under his breath. "No wonder the war was so costly. These fools in this time would not have known how to handle such a threat."

 

The Master of Time then watched as the machines interact with one another. As Starscream recounted his experiences, Megatron smashed the back of his hand across Starscream's face. With tremendous rage, the Decepticon leader kicked Starscream in the chest. Starscream tried to crawl away from his master, but Megatron tossed him against the massive carrier. Megatron looked over the trembling Decepticon. 

 

"You worthless coward!" Megatron yelled as he aimed a canon at Starscream. "You could have led these pathetic lifeforms here!"

 

Before Starscream could react, Kang made himself known to the Decepticons. Megatron stumbled back as he turned his attention to Kang the Conqueror. The Decepticon leader could see that this being was different than what he had seen thus far. With Megatron's attention on the intruder, Syarscream was able to crawl away. He hid behind the walls of the massive carrier and steadily watched the confrontation between Megatron and this being.

 

"Those fools did not trace you..." Kang muttered as his chair hovered in front of the Decepticon leader. "I did."

 

Megatron aimed his canon at Kang the Conqueror. "And who are you?"

 

"I am the past, present, and future. I am a Conqueror of time and space. My name is Kang." Kang responded as he glared at the Decepticon leader. "I am offering you a place of service in my dynasty!"

 

"I am no servant!" Megatron roared as he started to get his cannon ready for an attack. "I am the Emperor of Destruction! I will destroy you! You will die here just like the rest of you worthless beings!"

 

"Very well." Kang responded as he got ready for battle against the Decepticon leader.

 

The other Decepticons staggered back into the carrier and watched as their leader battled against this new adversary.

Hmm... I think Megatron will be able to tank any form of weaponry Kang throws at him. But I Kang will probably then settle for throwing the Decepticon into some time distortion that rips him apart.

Another very good set-up, Boratz! Excellent way to capture the atmosphere of both the Marvel and Transformer characters. 

Yeah, this looks like a tough match-up either way. Megatron is likely to be able to hold up to all but Kang's strongest attacks and give the Time Conqueror close to all he can handle in return. Kang, though, has taken some of the best the Avengers have thrown at him and occasionally come out on top, and the Avengers don't typically have the hubris that Megatron has shown that often lead to his defeat. 

I think Kang wins since he's cleverer on average.
