Aska began her assault as she turned with her hips and thrust her right and left arm in a series of two straight punches before she followed up by turning with her weight and snapping her left leg across for the mutant Turtle’s mid-section, aiming to land a solid roundhouse kick. Following up with this, she continued with the motion to turn in a quick spin and then thrust her right leg up and back out as she intended to slam the back of her heel for the middle of the red masked Turtle’s face while she performing a spinning back thrust kick. Michelangelo had to react fast to her intended attacks as he turned with his hips and positioned his forearms upward, moving his arms in an outside inside manner to divert the incoming punches from himself. When the roundhouse kick came for him, Michelangelo merely shifted his weight as he clenched his right arm close to himself and took the kick full brunt as he blocked the strike. However, when the last kick came in for him— Michelangelo widened his eyes and side-stepped over to his left, barely managing to evade the incoming kick.

In retaliation, the wily Turtle then spun the nunchaku within his right hand upward as he took aim for Aska’s chin but the Kunoichi leaned back away from the incoming weapon however, Michelangelo then swung the weapon down as he aimed to slam it down for Aska’s head but the Japanese girl turned and managed the evade Michelangelo’s nunchaku and immediately leaned in for the Turtle as she then raised her right arm up and aimed to slam her elbow down onto the top of the mutant Turtle’s head. Michelangelo quickly raised his left arm up and positioned it horizontally, using his forearm to block the elbow strike.

The red masked Turtle tensed up the muscles within his arm and pushed up to create an opening in Aska’s defenses if he could. Quickly, he turned with his hips and he thrust his arms forward and out four times as he took aim for Aska’s mid-section, chest and her head. But the Kunoichi would turn with her hips and positioned her forearms vertically to block and divert the Turtle’s strikes away from herself. Michelangelo then pulled back only to spin his nunchaku within both hands and moved his arms apart, now moving both nunchaku horizontally outward as he took aim for Aska’s mid-section.

WHACK!

“Nngh!” Aska grunted in discomfort.

Michelangelo managed to make impact with his opponent’s vulnerable mid-section and this created the vulnerability which he needed to capitalize on. Spinning his nunchaku, the wily Turtle would then swing the weapon in his right hand vertically downward for the top of his opponent’s head. Aska widened her eyes and shifted back only to position her right arm upward and her forearm horizontally, using the bracer on her wrist to block and withstand the strike of the weapon. Michelangelo came down with the nunchaku in his left hand, forcing Aska to once more shift back and block yet again but with the bracer on her left arm once more. Michelangelo turned in a quick spin and he would bring both nunchaku diagonally down as he intended to strike at Aska’s chest but the Kunoichi shifted back yet again and crossed both her arms in front of herself, taking the full brunt of the wooden weapons with her bracers. The strength behind the blow was enough to make her lean back. Michelangelo, choosing to keep the assault going, decided to then rush ahead and pounced. Raising his arms, he then brought them down with as much strength as he could while moving them down. Aska widened her eyes as she now raised both arms up and used her wrist guards to block the incoming attack, however the strength was more than enough to cause her defenses to break as she was forced to drop her arms to her sides and stumbled from the impact.

“Whoopsie!” Michelangelo taunted.

The Turtle immediately dropped to his hands after landing onto his feet, and he immediately threw his weight across to the left as he then brought both his legs across only to strike across Aska’s ankles— causing the Kunoichi to then fall back. Gravity would pull the young woman back, and Aska would be forced to make a decision.

Recalling her training, Aska then threw both arms down and firmly planted her hands onto the ground. Rather than fight with the motion of the fall, Aska worked with it as she somersaulted away from Michelangelo. Finding her footing, Aska realized that her opponent wouldn’t give her the breathing room needed as the Turtle now came rushing at her before he once more pounced— and as he took to the air, Michelangelo curled himself into a ball and now aimed to flip towards Aska, seemingly intending to use his weight to slam onto her.

“NO!” Aska shouted defiantly.

Aska quickly ran to her left and allowed Michelangelo to pass by her as she then moved to get behind the Turtle as he would land feet first onto the ground. It would be at this moment that she would aim to try and get an opportunity. And if she couldn’t get one, then she would make one. As Michelangelo turned, Aska leapt forward as she then turned and leaned with her weight and pushed her posterior outward.

The only thing which Michelangelo saw and registered was a pair of flying buttocks moving in towards him and then impact was made as Aska’s rear managed to slam directly into his face. This caught Michelangelo off guard and he shook his head in momentary discomfort as he tried to replay what had just occurred in his thoughts. Landing feet first onto the ground, Aska went onto the offense as she then turned with her hips and thrust her left arm forward only to flatten her hand and delivered a ridge hand strike to Michelangelo’s throat. The wily Turtle gagged. Michelangelo instinctively coughed, stepping back as he raised his hands to clutch at his neck. Aska managed to create the opportunity which she needed and she was going to expand on it. Without hesitation turned with her hips and then swung her right leg diagonally up as she performed a strong roundhouse. Her foot would impact directly into Michelangelo’s head, jarring the Turtle’s senses for a moment. Quickly, the Kunoichi then would turn in a spin at high speeds while sliding right in towards Michelangelo before she then would push herself to a leap and then swung her right arm upward, directly impacting the Turtle in the chin.

Michelangelo was lifted off from his feet and the red masked wily Turtle was sent falling off from the wooden bridge which he and the Kunoichi had been duking it out. The mutant Red Ear Slider splashed into the pond and it was at this very moment in which Michelangelo worked to regain his bearings.

“Okay! Okay, that was a good one— OH SHI--!” Was all Michelangelo was able to get out.

Aska pounced from the wooden bridge over the pond, only to then straddle her legs onto the mutant Turtle’s shoulders and used her weight to push herself and the Turtle forward only to them slam her opponent back and head first into the pond. A large splash had been created as the two dropped into the water, and Michelangelo felt his shell slamming down into the bedding of the pond followed by his head making impact. A ringing pain now moved through his head, and Aska quickly flipped off from the mutant Turtle.

“Damn, even I felt that one!” Raphael chuckled.

Michelangelo placed his hands onto the bedding of the pond and pushed himself to his feet once more. He nudged his head up as he glared to his opponent, motioning his hands back to come at him.

Aska quickly moved her left hand down to the side of her leg, now drawing a kunai from the strap before she then would flick her hand forward and released the weapon from her grasp. The bladed weapon would fly right in towards Michelangelo’s plastron protected chest swiftly but the Turtle spun the nunchaku within his right hand and swung down, striking the weapon down and away from him. Aska then dashed right in towards her opponent and turned in a spin, only to then raise her left leg upward and swung it cross to the left, performing a spinning back wheel kick for Michelangelo’s head. But the Turtle hunched down and managed to evade the incoming kick. He then would turn with his hips and he would swing his left and right arm across, taking aim for the sides of Aska’s head but the young woman leaned back and hunched from the incoming punches. Michelangelo then leaned up, raising his left knee up only to directly slam it into Aska’s chin, causing the Kunoichi to drop from her position.

Aska splashed into the pond once more, firmly planting her hands onto the bedding as her rear slammed onto it. A wash of pain moved through her head and she worked to fight through the discomfort. Michelangelo quickly then rushed over to his opponent and he spun the twin nunchaku within his grasp as he then moved the pair in his left hand upward, striking Aska in the chin once more. The Kunoichi shut her eyes in discomfort as the pain was piled on her. Michelangelo then would swing his nunchaku across in his left hand as he took aim for Aska’s midsection, striking the young woman directly in her abdominal region. Michelangelo then would pounce forward as he then would swing his left leg up, only to pull it back in a fake out before snapping his right leg up in a jumping front kick. His foot would collide with Aska’s chin once more, and the Japanese young woman would find herself flying out from the pond and she would collide onto the hard concrete ground of the temple. Michelangelo rushed on ahead, trudging through the pond with the intent to continue this match. Aska, shaking off the cob webs from the assault, now looked to the direction of the Turtle and quickly bolted to her feet. She stepped on ahead and quickly ran towards the closest guardian Shisa statue before she climbed up onto it, and then leapt off only to soar in towards the roof of a nearby hut. Surely, a little distance and time to regain her bearings couldn’t have hurt.

“Oh ho ho! Playing hard to get, huh?” Michelangelo snickered.

The Turtle rushed in hot pursuit of his opponent, leaping and rebounding off from a guardian statue and moved onto the rooftop which Aska took her brief respite. The red masked wily ninja then spun his nunchaku within his hands as he once more rushed in at his opponent.

Aska moved to her right and she quickly moved her left leg across, snapping out with a roundhouse which was aimed out for the red masked Turtle’s mid-section. Michelangelo leapt and circled himself into a ball, dropping onto the ground and proceeded to roll ahead after having managing to evade the kick. The Turtle moved up onto his feet and he quickly turned to meet his opponent. Aska jabbed her left arm out twice as she took aim for Michelangelo’s face, but the Turtle weaved from side to side and she followed up by leaning forward with her weight and thrust her right arm out but Michelangelo evaded by moving to his left. The Kunoichi then moved her left hand down, reaching for another kunai. Spinning the weapon in hand, Aska swung the weapon upward as she intended to slash up for Michelangelo’s chest and then spun the weapon once more and thrust it down for a stabbing motion. Michelangelo widened his eyes and he leapt back from the weapon when the first slash came for him, but when the second strike came down, Michelangelo took one pair of his nunchaku, pulled it taught and used the chain to intercept Aska’s wrist, and turned in a spin only to lean forward and aimed to toss Aska forward to slam her onto the ground. But rather than fighting with the motion, Aska merely went with it and threw her weight forward only to land onto her feet as the Turtle released her.

Aska then once more stepped forward and turned in a spin, moving at high speeds before she would stop in front of the Turtle and she raised her right leg up as high as she could, attempting to land a high front kick and managed to succeed in impacting the bottom of her foot up against the Turtle’s chin. Michelangelo grunted and stumbled from the blow, and as she lowered her leg down, Aska added onto the pressure by leaning forward and pushing her right elbow out, firmly impacting it into the Turtle’s face.  Focusing her inner energy, Aska directed it to move through her body in a spinning motion, as she then turned into a spin once more and pushed herself up as she then thrust her right arm up, kunai held in hand as energy manifested in the form of butterflies surrounding her.

Michelangelo was struck firmly in the chin once more, and he was sent tumbling back only to then drop onto his side and gravity worked against him. It also didn’t help that the roof of the hut was curved and had ceramic tiling. The red masked Turtle widened his eyes as he fell off and hit the concrete ground. Aska rushed on ahead only to somersault off from the rooftop, padding her feet onto the concrete. As Michelangelo placed his hands onto the ground, nunchaku in hand, Aska already pounced forward as she then snapped her left leg out in a jumping side kick. The Turtle moved his head up, eyes widened as he then forced himself to move—his muscles tensing up as he pushed himself to leap forward and evaded the incoming kick. Michelangelo spun his nunchaku furiously and he swung the pair in his left hand horizontally over from left to right as he took aim for Aska’s mid-section. His opponent crossed her arms in front of herself, using her bracers to block the incoming strikes. Michelangelo retaliated by then spinning the pair in his right hand and then swung the pair upwards and moved them down, intending to strike for her chin and the top of her head. Aska kept her defenses as leaned back and side stepped to her left, circling around the Turtle and responded by leaning in and thrusting her kunai out.

Seeing his opponent going for a stabbing thrust, Michelangelo strafed to his own left, and he raised his right knee up and managed to impact it directly into Aska’s mid-section Gasping for her breath, Aska released her kunai from hand and the sound of metal hitting concrete was a horrifying realization to what happened. The red masked Turtle would furiously then snap his right leg down in a low side kick and struck at Aska’s left thigh region. She grunted and shrieked in discomfort and pain. But Michelangelo didn’t stop as he swung his nunchaku horizontally over from right to left, then up and down, and diagonally— striking at his opponent in all directions. Michelangelo tensed up the muscles within his legs, only to push himself as high as he could as he raised his right arm upward while spinning the nunchaku in hand.

“RISING THUNDER!”

Aska only would feel the nunchaku hitting her in the face multiple times as she was catapulted upward and immediately blackness overwhelmed her vision. A brief disorientation overtook her as did a sense of weightlessness. Then her body would hit the ground As Michelangelo landed feet first onto the concrete. The red masked wily Turtle stepped back as he spun his nunchaku before motioning them down, catching them underneath his arms as he snapped into his fighting posture. He began to count… Ten seconds. All he needed was just the count down.

No movement. Aska didn’t get back up. The match was decided.

Michelangelo jumped as he raised his arms up and fell to his knees—Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello rushed in to their youngest sibling and raised him to their shoulders. It had been a hard earned fight for Michelangelo and it was a victory well deserved. The Turtles had come so far in this King of Fighters tournament and they only aimed to reach the end if they could.

Aska slowly blinked her eyes open, coming to a throbbing headache as she then raised her left hand up and placed it to the side of her head. She took in a deep breath of air through her nose and exhaled in mild frustration of her defeat. Chizuru looked to each of the Turtles and pursed her lips while she slowly nodded her head. They were talented. Despite their lack of powers, they most certainly had technique and skill on their side. Perhaps they would go farther than what anyone had given them credit for. They had managed to hold their own against the Three Treasures well enough but sooner or later, they would have to face those aligned with Orochi.

“I can’t believe I lost!” Aska sighed.

“Hey, they’re pretty good at what they do. Don’t beat yourself up.” Kyo responded.

“Yes, they’re most certainly quite talented and they have good technique and ability.” Chizuru added.

Chizuru then stepped forward and looked to the Turtles as they were relishing their hard earned victory. She couldn’t help but form something of a soft smile despite her attempts to keep up her stoic façade. The Turtles ceased their celebrations as the three siblings lowered Michelangelo onto his feet. All four were curious to what the Japanese woman was intending or if she had anything to say.

“You’ve come very far in this tournament for newcomers. Well done. You’ve certainly gained quite ample experience and fairly quickly as well. However… there will be opponents whose powers are quite strong. You’ve already fought one infused with Orochi’s cursed power, and you’ve soundly beaten us— the Three Treasures. Don’t let this victory go to your head. Remain vigilant and fight with that same spirit and skill, even ferocity that you all demonstrated today. Believe me, you will need it.”

Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael stared to Chizuru when she had said that before looking to each other. The words were something which only their Jonin, Master Splinter, would even say.

“Thank you, we’ll be sure to keep that in mind.” Leonardo spoke.

“Be sure that you do.” Chizuru responded.

“Hey, we’ve fought ninja, aliens and mutants way before we even competed in this tournament. I think we’ll be okay.” Raphael said.

“That experience most certainly has helped you four quite well then. You’ve earned this victory.” Chizuru nodded.

Chizuru then turned to look over to Kyo, nodding to the fiery fighter as she then moved to tend to Aska. Kyo then had looked down to Iori, who remained unconscious throughout the duration of the fighting. Iori blinked his eyes open and grunted as he raised a hand over his face only to then shoot a glare to the Turtles. Kyo couldn’t help but chuckle as he shook his head in disbelief of Iori’s attitude but then again, he shouldn’t have expected him to be gracious.

The Turtles, elated with their victory, cheered and laughed. Tonight, they would eat well and definitely get some much needed rest after having faced such powerful opponents.

The night had passed and the Turtles had regained their strength from the hard battle last night. Several matches were announced and this allowed them time to have a hearty breakfast. When their match had been announced, the Turtles were more than ready to meet their opponents at the designated place of battle. Surprisingly, the chosen area was the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and that even got Donatello quite excited being the genius which he happened to be. None the less, it was a rather unusual place to hold a sanctioned tournament match.

Upon entering the greenhouse where the next match was to be held, the Turtles were met with the warm and humid air that was expected within a greenhouse. All four brothers weren’t bothered by the heat and humidity, if anything they actually quite liked it.

“Makes you wish we had a greenhouse of our own, doesn’t it?” Donatello asked.

“Where are we gonna put a greenhouse, Don? I mean the sewers don’t allow for sunlight to come in! And I’m pretty sure April and Casey wouldn’t know where to put one!” Raphael responded.

“That’s why you buy UV lamps and I’m pretty sure Casey and April could at least have an installation on the rooftop of their apartment building. It’d be a small one… Not like this place unfortunately”

“Guys… We’re here. These have to be our opponents.” Leonardo raised a hand, gesturing for his brothers to be silent.

The Turtles looked ahead of themselves and now looked to the four individuals who had been waiting for them. One was a young woman, wearing white clothing with a sort skirt and white boots, she also had red hair which covered over her eyes and sported a long tail in the back. The other was a muscular male who had an open jacket and white pants, while also having white hair and sported a cocky grin on his face. The other was a shorter, younger male who wore a large blue shirt with a smaller form fitting black colored undershirt, and pants which went down to his ankles. And the other— was another male, Japanese in appearance wearing a black short sleeve form fitting shirt and black trousers and shoes. He also had what appeared to be blonde hair, dyed of course.

“So… You four must be the freaks that we’re up against. Hah… You kept us waiting long enough! You’ve come very far in this tournament but now…. This is where your streak and your lives end!” The blonde Japanese man grinned before licking his teeth in a predatory manner.

Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael looked over to one another and realized… that right off the bat, that there was going to be no point in holding back. One of the opposition just made it very clear that they had intended to kill them… And that wasn’t going to fly as far as they were concerned.

“Who cares about this tournament? We’re just doing this to bring notoriety for our band!” The female of the group spoke out.

“And our opponents are these four costumed clowns?” The white haired male spoke out.

“Hmph! This should be easy enough!” The shorter male with the blue shirt spoke out.

“Really? And who are you wannabe pop stars supposed to be?” Michelangelo raised a brow.

“If you must know… I’m called Yamazaki. The others are members of the Hakkeshu. Yashiro Nanakase. Chris. Shermie… Those three are the New Faces band. Not that I’m a part of them.  But enough introductions… no point since now you’re all gonna be counting how breaths you have left.”

“I’ve been bored long enough. I want to go first.” Shermie spoke out as she stepped forth.

The four Turtles looked to one another, pondering who would go first for this particular bout. Raphael moved his hands down and he took hold of the handles of his twin sai and drew his weapons out, but before he was about to move on ahead to meet his opponent, a hand was firmly placed on his left shoulder. Raphael turned and widened his eyes to see that it was none other than Leonardo.

“Raph, whatever you do… Do NOT hold back.”

“Brutal?” Raphael asked.

“Brutal.” Leonardo nodded.

The red masked hot-headed Turtle nodded his head in understand and he grinned knowing that he didn’t have to worry about hurting his opponent. If anything, Leonardo had given him permission to do just that. These people made it very clear that they were probably going to kill them and Raphael didn’t see any reason not to respond in kind, and Leonardo seemed to share the same sentiment. He stepped forward only to stop about five feet away from Shermie. Raphael quickly snapped into his fighting stance with his weapons in hand. Shermie moved into her own battle posture, which resembled more of a dancing posture than anything else. Both contestants stared to one another, waiting for the other to make their first move.

Shermie broke formation as she rushed in towards the Turtle, and Raphael pounced with his weapons at the ready.

The next match in my Mirage TMNT series continues and this time the Turtles are going up against the Hakkeshu. I suppose that this was an inevitable direction for this storyline to go but considering that the matches involving the Turtles more or less have been building up to this, preparing them to fight against superhuman opponents who can use Ki based powers, this was none the less bound to happen one way or another. When it came to the Hakkeshu, I needed to figure out which characters were going to be representing the Orochi team-- obvious choices were going to be either Vice and Mature, but I figured that was perhaps too predictable and now with SNK canonically reviving Shermie, Chris and Yashiro-- I may as well play into that and make use of those characters. Yamazaki also is a part of the team as well, and I figure that he may as well play a part in this storylien. Goenitz is dead, so he wouldn't have been able to participate... Or could he? I don't know.

For this match up, I figure that I might as well have Raphael go up against Shermie of the Hakkeshu. I am not sure why but I figured that both favor close quarters combat, both are great grapplers with Raphael being trained in ninjutsu and likely knows bone breaking techniques, and Shermie's fighting style being a mix of gymnastics and wrestling. But there's also some contrasting there with Raphael being quite brutal and fiery in his temper, with Shermie being outgoing and friendly (as far as a villain character goes anyway). So I figured that this could be a potentially interesting match up.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

--

Raphael (Mirage ) is Low Tier Superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation and training.

Raphael (Mirage) possesses his Twin Sai, Shurikens, Exploding Shurikens, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai.

Shermie is in Peak Conditioning due to her training.

Shermie has her moveset from the KOF games.

Shermie DOES NOT have access to her Orochi Shermie form as that requires external awakening from Goenitz or Orochi to access as dictated in KOF canon.

The Orochi team isn't the most popular characters and I never played them looking them over I think they can beat the turtles.

I'm going with Shermie.

You sure about that? Cause for this storyline-- the wins and losses for the Turtles do count, and in this case-- Raphael managed to carry his team when they were losing against the Fatal Fury team, effectively beating Joe Higashi, Mai Shiranui and Terry Bogard where the other Turtles either lost or stalemated against them. So there's that. Another thing is that well, Raphael also managed to beat Iori in this arc, who did have access to his Orochi powers.

Also, as far as I know in KOF canon-- even characters who don't possess Orochi's bloodline, which would be 95% of the KOF cast, or even so much as members of the Three Treasures team have soundly beaten members of Orochi's servants by sheer skill.

Also, the Mirage Turtles have fought supernatural enemies before in their own canon. I think you might be selling them a bit short, Leroy.

The recap/battle between Mikey and Aska was all that I had hoped for and more, complete with flying butts, never thought I be saying that in my response. That said, it was a great fun read, and also an interesting detour from what I may have otherwise expected from the likes of Michaelangelo, usually the immature goof ball in most media, to not only get serious, but also to begin getting angry or irritated in a fight. It is different, and all in all, it brings a different and unique flavor to things, as well as a decent reminder that while Mikey does enjoy having fun and playing around, he too, can get serious in a fight when necessary.

For this next upcoming fight, I do believe that Raph has the sufficient ability and experience to take the win in this fight if he plays it straight and goes all out from the start, a brutal attack against an opponent might just be what is required to win here. Barring that however, Raph will have to duel Shermie carefully, as her gymnastic style combined with her dancing moves make her quite an unpredictable foe for him to contend with. He'll have to watch her movements at every turn, to even get an idea of what she might do next, and maybe Raph might even need to be somewhat more unpredictable himself in their fight, switching between different moves and fighting styles as the need requires. Either way, this seems to be a fight that will play out quite uniquely from most we have seen before.

Thank you for commenting on this match! Regarding the recap, I'm actually quite surprised to know that you interpreted it as Michelangelo actually pushing past his comfort zone to fight against someone like Aska. If anything, I would say that is something completely unintentional but I would think that Aska could be skilled enough to push any of the Turtles and I do know that when Michelangelo gets serious, he GETS SERIOUS, and across a lot of TMNT media-- when Michelangelo actually tries, he does have the potential to be the best Turtle out of the four, even surpassing Leonardo if he really focused himself. Look at the Last Ronin story-- Michelangelo in that particular story is not only the LAST Turtle, but he is also by default the best because he has to be due to circumstances. But regardless I am glad that you enjoyed reading the recap even if Michelangelo getting serious was perhaps unintentional.

And yes, I had to include flying butts... I mean c'mon, it's Aska's move in the game! Hah!

Given that the Hakkeshu just made their intentions clear, or rather Yamazaki did-- Leonardo has given each and every one of the Turtles to go full all out right at the get go, and he's given Raphael the go-ahead to be as brutal and as violent as he needs to be. So that's something which is to be considered, and as far as I know about Shermie, she is quite flirtatious and playful as far as her personality in battle is concerned. That is something that might end up costing her.

Also, something to consider which I don't think people take into thought is the battle environment. It's large and spacious, and has pools of water not to mention trees and bushes-- which means covering for both sides. However, it depends on Raphael and Shermie on how to use the environment. So that raises the question... Who uses the environment in junction with their skills and techniques the best? Food for thought.

Also, I would like to plug my other match on the CBUB. It's not a return to me writing the Predator storylines which I have written in the past and serves more as a one-shot, though it's also the debut of a CBUB character who's been waiting for over a decade to be used.

I present to all readers, Deedlit vs Feral Predator!

Great set-up, Rakai. It looks like you're officially back to form now. :)

Very good recap of Michelangelo and Aska. It just about felt like one of those TMNT Tournament Fighters matches. The one thing that was missing was the super special attacks, but I doubted that we'd see them in this fight because 1), these are the Mirage Turtles, who wouldn't necessarily be able to do those super specials, and 2), like most TMNT Tournament Fighters matches actually went, the fights were too fast-paced to see specials much.

Also, it was good to see Aska's butt-ram and Mikey dust off the Rising Thunder that he used in a match awhile back in this arc. :D

As for the match, I think Raphael can win, but he might need to be just as careful as he needs to be ruthless. I've seen a bit of Shermie's characterization in @JohnnyChany's own fighting arc matches, and she can be just as murderously ruthless as she can be nonchalant (especially if her full Orochi powers emerge). As mentioned, though, Raph has had plenty of experience dealing with supernatural foes and the like, so he might have better than a good shot here.

Thanks for commenting DSkillz!

Yeah, I would think that Raphael would be considerably experienced as he has already fought a considerable number of opponents who use Ki based attacks in their martial arts, and the fact that he carried his team against Team Fatal Fury by soundly beating Joe, Mai and Terry-- and of course, he's also recently beaten Iori Yagami in the last match up looking at his record, and Iori is just as ruthless and perhaps as blood thirsty as Raphael. So considering that he's already defeated one person who's got powers granted to him by Orochi, he should be able to contend against one of the Hakkeshu.

And of course, there's also the environment which needs to be taken into account.

I do hope that you didn't vote on any matches based on this reasoning.

I hate writing out recaps that end up in a stalement.

I was just joking. Beside I didn’t vote on this match.

My bad then!

I'm sorry, it's just... really frustrating and the constant draws were one reason why I took that hiatus. Writing them out just is extremely challenging and it takes more creative juice to think of a feasible way to pump out a recap.

Ah, man, I think this one may partially be on me. I rated the match, but I think I forgot to vote on it.

My bad.

Well, I'm currently writing up the next match up. I'm two pages into it already.
