Donatello spun his metal staff within his hands, motioning the weapon over from right to left before he would bring the back end of the weapon down for the top of his opponent’s head. Chris immediately stepped over to the left, managing to quickly evade the incoming weapon. Donatello turned to meet his opponent, now bringing the lower end of the staff upward as he aimed to have it strike at the bottom of the Hakkeshu member’s chin. Chris hopped back from the weapon and maintained that mocking grin on his face. That was already getting on Donatello’s nerves, and he intended to wipe that smug smile off from him if it was the last thing he ever did. The genius Turtle slammed his staff onto the ground, only to pounce forward and catapult himself in towards Chris and he thrust his right leg out. Chris widened his eyes the moment he felt the mutant reptile’s foot slamming directly into his mid-section and then found himself falling, slamming down onto his backside as Donatello relied on his dexterity to plant himself feet first onto the ground. Already, things seemed to start off good for the mutant.

Donatello then would spin his staff within his grasps once more, and he took aim for the Hakkeshu member’s chin as he then would bring the back end upward. Chris would be firmly impacted in his chin and the young man was sent reeling back, now slamming the back of his head directly onto the hard tile of the greenhouse. Pain moved through Chris’ head, his senses were jarred and his mouth experienced a stinging sensation like never before. He moved his hands up to his mouth, clutching at it before he sat up and looked down to see a crimson stain on his hands. That was something which Chris didn’t take too well.

Chris firmly placed his hands onto the floor and pushed himself to rise as he fought through the pain as blood trickled down from his mouth. He ran right in towards Donatello, intent on punishing the Turtle for what he had done. Chris quickly thrust his left and right arm out as he took aim for Donatello, then followed up by turning with his weight as he took aim for Donatello’s mid-section and then swung his right leg across in a roundhouse kick, intending to blast the Turtle directly into his mid-section. However, Donatello positioned his staff accordingly, using the metal weapon to block the incoming punches and diverted them away. As the kick then came, Donatello moved his staff and positioned it vertically, allowing the weapon to take the brunt of the kick for him. He then shifted forward with a step as he repositioned his staff forward and thrust it— intent on pushing Chris from him. The Hakkeshu felt something moving against his chest and he was forced to step back from the strength of Donatello and his weapon. The Turtle then followed up by turning to his right and moved with a mighty swing to the right as he brought his staff across. Chris widened his eyes and hunched underneath the weapon. He immediately responded by leaning forward and thrust his left arm out, elbow bent as he aimed to slam it directly into Donatello’s plastron protected mid-section. He managed to strike the Turtle firmly, and then snapped his left arm out as he moved it for the mutant Red Ear Slider’s face, now firmly impacting Donatello across his face.

It was at this moment that Chris focused on the energy within himself, now feeling it in the form of a rushing current. He willed it to move throughout his entire body, directing the flow to his legs. He pushed himself up and then threw his weight backwards while moving at such speed that could only be described as blinding. He brought his right leg up, performing a leaping reverse somersault kick as he now unleashed his Hunting Air technique.

“WHOAH!” Donatello widened his eyes, gasping at the sight of his opponent.

The red masked genius then positioned his staff in front of himself, positioning the metal bo-staff horizontally and the weapon again took the brunt of the attack. But he didn’t expect the young lad to move so fast like that and have an attack with such strength behind it— as evident as Donatello was sent reeling a few feet from just blocking the kick. So these Orochi fighters were strong, amazingly strong— now he knew why Raphael had so much difficulty with Shermie. If he was going to win this, then he was going to have to be smart about it.

Donatello spun his staff again and he tensed up his leg muscles, only to then push himself and threw his weight forward and then turned it to a spin as he then performed a butterfly flip in towards Chris. As he landed feet first onto the floor of the greenhouse, Donatello then would bring both ends of the staff across as he took aim for Chris’ mid-section, and the young man was forced to cross his arms out in front of himself—taking the brunt of the impacts. Donatello then brought the back end of the staff down for the top of Hakkeshu’s head. Christ instinctively moved his arms up and was ready to block the incoming strike but then Donatello leaned forward with a snap front kick as he took aim for Chris’ mid-section, firmly impacting the young man in his solar plexus. Chris widened his eyes as he felt the air in his lungs suddenly being knocked out from him, and lurched forward. Seeing the opportunity, Donatello then snapped his left leg down across to the right, taking aim for his opponent’s knee and then swing his left leg upwards over to the right, performing a quick roundhouse. Chris was impacted hard across the face, and the Hakkeshu was sent stumbling.

“He’s doing well… We might up our chances here.” Leonardo spoke as he watched on intently.

The red masked field leader of the Turtles stared over to the opposing team, doing his best to take observations of them. Shermie was out of commission from her fight with Raphael, but if her near superhuman abilities were of any indication, the wounds she sustained might not be as life threatening as it would be to a normal person. Yashiro was slowly coming around as he blinked his eyes, his head ringing with pain as did his body as he slowly sat up.

But the last fighter, who called himself Yamazaki, was definitely not pleased with how the match was going. That much was quite evident for Leonardo to note. If Donatello was going to win this next match, then he would be the one having to go up against him. Yamazaki snarled and grit his teeth as he watched Chris and Donatello continuing their match, shaking his head in disapproval of the results of the last two bouts. And these were fighters who were blessed with the power of the eight headed dragon, Orochi? Surely, they could’ve done better. Leonardo saw the anger in Yamazaki’s face, and began to ponder how he might be able to utilize this when their match would come. But for now, he would return his attention to the battle at hand.

Chris recovered from the blow inflicted upon him by Donatello and the young man clenched his hands firmly into fists. He stepped forward, now bursting into a full on run before he leapt into the air and was coming down to his opponent like an incoming meteor. Chris focused his energy down to his legs, and he kicked his left leg out only to shoot down towards Donatello as he performed his Glider Stomp technique. However, Donatello side-stepped to his right and he swung his bo-staff directly across and firmly batted it into Chris’ mid-section again. The young man gasped as he lurched forward and crumpled forward as he clutched his body in his arms. Donatello slammed his staff onto the ground, catapulted himself as he threw his weight backwards and to the side, kicking both his legs upward as he moved out with a cartwheel flip kick, both his feet impact directly onto Chris and forcing the young man to fly up into the air. Donatello landed onto his feet, watching as his opponent was getting ready to drop. He thrust his metal staff upward, now impacting and catching Chris in his mid-section, keeping him suspended there before he turned and slammed his staff down, in turn causing the Hakkeshu to impact the ground and bounce violently into the air once more. Finally, Donatello shifted with a step and he would spin the metal bo-staff in a figure eight motion, moving the weapon over from right to left. Chris would be impacted by the weapon, never even getting a chance to once more hit the ground as each hit kept him juggled in the air. It wasn’t until Donatello spun around and he would swing his staff across, hitting Chris across his body once more and sent the young Hakkeshu member flying back only to hit the tree behind him and he would drop onto the ground flat on his face.

The young Orochi fighter writhed in pain. He clutched at his mid-section within his arms, pulling his legs up as he now was finally registering the pain which the Turtle had put him through. But what was more painful was the humiliation which he seemed to be going through. How was this freak able to do this to him? Why was he able to do this to him? It didn’t make sense to Chris, and the young Hakkeshu member shuddered as he fought through the pain. He planted his hands down onto the ground, and slowly sat up.

“Whoah! Down! Stay down!” Donatello firmly commanded.

Chris would shoot a glare of death to the Turtle, shaking his head. He refused to go down like this, he refused to be beaten by some freak in what seemed to be some elaborate Turtle costume. Or so that’s what he thought anyway. Slowly, he pushed himself to his feet and breathed heavily through his aching teeth.

The Hakkeshu rushed forward, and he immediately zeroed right in on the genius Turtle. He snapped his left leg out in a front kick, then followed up by turning with his weight as he then snapped his left and right arm out as he took aim for Donatello’s face. However, the red masked ninja swung his staff down and blocked the kick, and when the punches came at him, Donatello moved his weapon accordingly to deflect the incoming punches. Chris turned in a spin and he threw his weight backwards, only to firmly plant his hands onto the ground as he performed a reverse somersault and aimed to kick his left leg down at Donatello as he performed his Reverse Anchor Kick. However, he would hit nothing as Donatello side-stepped to his right, evading the incoming kick.

Setting himself back up, Chris then once more rushed in towards Donatello and he turned in a spin once more as he swung his left hand back across to the left in a spinning backhand motion, then swung his right arm across in the same direction for a solid hook punch. The Turtle leaned back from the first incoming strike, then hunched down from the second. Chris took hold of the energy inside of himself, feeding it directly to his muscles. Feeling a burst of energy coursing through himself, he dashed forward at neck break speeds only to thrust his right arm out, elbow extended and he firmly impacted Donatello directly into his mid-section, causing the Turtle to buckle over before he shifted his weight forward and dropped to a baseball slide, and extended his left leg out to strike it at Donatello’s shins. Chris managed to successfully land his Shooting Dancer Thrust technique. Quickly rising to his feet once more, he again performed the same technique, impacting his right elbow this time into Donatello’s mid-section and then he snapped his right leg forward and out, striking at the Turtle’s carapace. Donatello grunted out as each impact was slammed onto him, and he widened his eyes at how surprisingly strong his opponent happened to be… But none the less, this was something which he shouldn’t have allowed to happen.

Chris focused on the energy inside of him, willing it to explode and now unleashed the maximum of the reserves which he had. Taking this sudden rush of energy to feed directly into his muscles, imbuing himself with further enhanced speed and strength— Chris suddenly ran towards Donatello as he unleashed his Chain Slide Touch combo technique. He would swing his left arm back across, intending on delivering simply but impossibly strong slaps onto the Turtle’s chest region. Chris grinned as he was unleashing that technique, but then his smile turned into an immediate scowl as Donatello quickly raised his bo-staff firmly in his grasp and parried each strike.

Donatello thrust his staff upwards, interrupting Chris’ intended attack. He immediately would shift forward with a step and he would thrust his staff forward and out as fast as he could, firmly impacting the young Hakkeshu member a multiple of ten times directly into his face, shoulders and chest. Chris stumbled back from each blow and the Hakkeshu member howled in pain as Donatello retaliated with punishment. Then the red masked genius turned in a spin as he swung his right leg back across in a spinning back wheel kick for Chris’ head, and the young man felt an immediate pain moving through his head as he lost his footing.

“DAMN IT!! YOU’VE OROCHI’S POWER FLOWING THROUGH YOUR BLOOD! WHY ARE YOU LETTING THIS FREAK HUMILIATE YOU LIKE THIS?!!” Yamazaki shouted.

The mutant Red Ear Slider then swung his staff across over to the right as he took aim for Chris’ mouth and a loud whack was heard. Pain just shot through the front of Chris mouth and he stumbled back as he moved his hands up only to then clutch at his face and then felt something in his mouth…  It felt smooth but also hard, almost like as if were made of some sort of sediment. He widened his eyes in abject horror at the possibility of what had just happened. Chris slowly and hesitantly spat into the palms of his hands.

He shuddered at the sight of the mixture of saliva and blood, as well as the many teeth which were now laid out in his hands. He poked his tongue forward and felt it going through where his front bottom and two upper teeth happened to be.

“MUH TEEF! MUH TEEH!! ‘OU BROKE MUH TEEH!”

Chris started to back away now as he realized the sudden situation which he was in. He didn’t think that his opponent would be this skilled and that staff gave him quite a lot of reach. It was now then he had realized his mistake— he had overestimated his own abilities and he had completely underestimated his opponent.

“Yeah, you might wanna hold onto those and slip those under your pillow for tonight so the tooth fairy can forward you a few bucks for what might be thousands of dollars’ worth of implants!” Donatello chuckled.

The red masked ninja then had reached into his utility belt, drawing out a pellet and tossed it to the ground hard enough for the pellet to break and release a waft of smoke. Chris now widened his eyes as he then moved his hands, trying to brush away the smoke from his line of sight. And he was forced to step back out from the smoke but when everything had cleared… his opponent was gone.

Chris was breathing heavily in through his nose and out his mouth, his breath passing through the opening in his teeth, creating a whistling sound as he exhaled. Pain shot through his chest as he breathed but Chris turned his head from side to side, looking for any sign of his opponent.

Suddenly, there was movement and three bladed objects were now embedding themselves in front of Chris’ feet and he looked down as he jumped back, looking upon three shurikens. Quickly, the young man turned around and began running as fast as he could as he widened his eyes, and he rushed towards the exit of the greenhouse. However, Chris suddenly came to a stop as soon as there was a shimmer in his line of sight and he jumped back as he now noticed the ring handled blade in front of him. A kunai. Chris gasped as he forced himself to slam his feet onto the ground and he quickly turned around to begin running— only for movement to happen again, and it moved in front of his eyes. The last thing which Chris saw was a metal object coming in for his face. Immediately, he hunched down and narrowly evaded the incoming staff.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!” Chris screamed in fright at the realization that his opponent seemed to be able to strike from anywhere and nowhere.

Donatello then spun his staff and he would motion it in a figure eight manner once more, but then he would lean forward and snapped is left leg forward and out in a front kicking manner as he took aim for Chris’ mid-section but Chris quickly slapped his right hand down to deflect the incoming strike however, Donatello then reared his leg back and thrust it out as he turned with his weight, performing a side kick which impacted the Hakkeshu directly in his chest. Chris was sent reeling back, briefly losing his footing before he would work to regain himself. Seeing this moment of an opening, Donatello then leaned forward and he turned in a spin—using his shell to slam it directly into the young Hakkeshu.

Again, Chris lost his footing and he felt something or rather… the lack of ground behind his heels. He turned to now look over to see the fountain pool which he was about to fall in and the young man splashed into the water. For a moment, the water was soothing— alleviating his body of the pain. Chris wouldn’t be lying if he said that he didn’t want to be under for a few moments to make the pain go away. But then a burst of anger swelled and exploded within him, and Chris widened his eyes open as he then burst from the surface of the water, screaming in pure hatred and anger as he then shot a glare to the Turtle… and blinked as he saw Donatello just sitting in a squatted position at the edge of the fountain and noticed how his metal staff was postured with the tip touching the water.

“Night night.” Donatello said with a mocking smile.

He pressed onto the button found on the center of his staff and the weapon activated it’s special function. A current of electricity coursed through the metal staff and lightning surged through the ends of the staff but the side that was dipping into the fountain flowed the current into the water. Chris suddenly felt a surge of pain stinging throughout his entire body and it wouldn’t stop, causing his nerves to scream out in pain and his body to convulse quiet violently. Suddenly, his vision went dark and he dropped onto his knees and splashed face first into the water. Donatello removed his staff from the fountain, and the conduct of energy dissipated.

Donatello began to count down the seconds, and when time had passed and his opponent hadn’t even so much as moved—the red masked ninja then moved his staff to the fallen form of Chris, and used his weapon to drag and push him closer to the edge of the fountain. He moved his left hand down and took a hold of Chris by the back of his shirt, now moving him out of the pool and allowed him to rest over it.

“DAMN IT!!” Yamazaki shouted.

The blonde haired Japanese Yakuza enforcer shot a glare to the defeated members of his team. Yashiro winced his eyes from the noise which Yamazaki was putting out, clutching the sides of his head with his hands as he then now looked over to Shermie and now Chris. He laid himself down onto the ground and breathed to help himself be alleviated of the pain. However, Yamazaki stormed his way to Yashiro and firmly kicked his right foot hard into the downed member’s mid-section, causing Yashiro to curl himself up.

Michelangelo, Donatello and a very beaten Raphael now looked over to the direction of the commotion. From what they were able to see, the last opponent was a violent man who seemed to relish in the suffering of others. The three siblings then turned their direction to Leonardo, wondering if he was the one who was going to be taking this man for the next battle head. Leonardo returned his gaze over to his brothers and he gave a solemn nod. He returned his attention to Ryuji Yamazaki, and narrowed his eyes as he took a step forth to meet his would be opponent.

“WEAK! WEAK! WEAK! YOU’RE PATHETIC AND WEAK! I DIDN’T NEED YOU! I DIDN’T NEED ANY OF YOU! IF IT WEREN’T FOR THE RULES OF THIS TOURNAMENT, I’D DO THIS BY MYSELF IF I COULD!” Yamazaki shouted as he delivered one final kick to Yashiro’s mid-section.

Yamazaki suddenly noticed the silence all around him and sharply turned around to now glare at the red masked Turtle who approached and then looked over to the other three. He didn’t have to worry about Raphael but the other three… well, he was more than confident that he would be able to deal with them. Yamazaki then returned his attention to Yashiro who was writhing in pain once more, and spat at him out of disdain. He formed a grin and focused his attention over to Leonardo and chuckled darkly.

“I’m guessing we’re doing this now, huh?”

“….”

“Nothing to say, huh? Well that’s fine. It wouldn’t matter for you anyway because by the end of this… You’ll be dead when I’m finished with you and then… I’ll finish the other three back there.” Yamazaki grinned.

Leonardo didn’t take too kindly to that. Unlike Raphael who would fly into a rage, the red masked field leader would focus on nothing but his opponent and remove whatever distractions were in his mind. He would set his mind on the breaking and defeat of the man in front of him. Just like how he had done with Oroku Saki. Both Leonardo and Yamazaki moved to the middle of the greenhouse, and both remained silent as they stared to one another. Yamazaki kept that grin on his face before he stuck his tongue out and licked is lips savagely in a mocking manner before he shook his head wildly, laughing quite maniacally.

The mutant Red Ear Slider then took in a light breath of air through his nostrils and then exhaled lightly as he calmed himself and readied his nerves. He immediately moved his right arm up over his shell and took hold of one of the red cloth braided handles of his twin ninjaken and drew the weapon out before he gripped the handle with both hands and positioned the blade in a defensive posture. Yamazaki simply grinned, chuckling away as he simply shifted to his own fighting posture but moved his left hand into his pocket.

This was something which Leonardo found to be quite… curious.

But regardless… This man threatened his family, and he would be certain that this would not stand.

The next match up in the Mirage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles storyline has been posted up. I honestly think that I prefer posting these matches at night as it allows for more time for people to read up on these matches and think about who wins, but let me say that this match was probably the one which I could say was the most predictable of course.

Anyway, writing out the recap for Donatello and Chris was something of an interesting thing to put down because I hadn't honestly expected Donatello to actually come out of that fight in a dominant manner-- I really feel that with the two draws which Donatello has on his record, people tend to underestimate Donatello and see him as over reliant on his technology when, in numerous media he has learned not to do so and has come out to be the better ninja for it. So I had to write up this match up with Donatello being extremely dominant and even more aggressive than he usually is here against someone like Chris.

Now, we're onto the last match up between the Mirage Turtles and the Orochi team, and it's between Leonardo and Yamazaki. I feel like this would be a match between two characters who contrast against one another, one who is cold and calculating and the other who is psychotic and violent. This would be something which while predictable in terms of pairing the combatants together, might be the most interesting to watch.

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

--

Leonardo (Mirage) is Low Tier Superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation and training.

Leonardo (Mirage) possesses his Ninjaken, Hoahmaru's Katana, Shurikens, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai.

Ryuji Yamazaki is Low Tier Superhuman due to Orochi's Power.

Ryuji Yamazaki has his moveset from the KOF games.

This is a good match up. Yamazaki is a talker and that could keep Leonardo a little unfocused. If Yamazaki were to win, taunting would be the way he does it.

I don't know... The dude JUST THREATENED his brothers, and when it comes to Leonardo and his family.. You DO NOT threaten his brothers. Out of all of the Turtles, in the Mirage continuity, he was the only one to stand up to the Shredder-- TWICE, and the second time he killed the cloned Oroku Saki by decapitating him after a long dragged out duel. So when Leonardo gets focused... NOTHING gets by him. Absolutely NOTHING.

That was a good fight too. Black and white was dope. Other mediums have redone that fight but the original Mirage one just stays with me.

And yeah, Yamazaki wouldn't talk smack in a tactical way. It's just his natural personality. He may say something to throw Leonardo off though. Try to his him with shark like in the game would freak me out.

Leonardo also fought Shredder again in the colored Vol.2 comics of the Mirage TMNT series.

Intense and quick to the point, Donnie doesn't play around, he totally shut down Chris and left him a blubbering mess. A fun read, and an unexpected one too, but a great showdown overall, as I didn't expect Donatello to finish him so fast, but I was also quite satisfied that he did, Donnie's continuing to grow in his approach to battling his opponents, and is a little colder to some extent to, but is still Donnie. Good stuff Rakai, and very satisfying to say the least.

Ryuji is a tough fighter, and an unpredictable one too, I can see him throwing a lot more unexpected and aggressive maneuvers Leonardo's way, among other things his ability to elongate his arms, his energy strikes and especially his ability to absorb energy, are all things that will make this a difficult fight for Leo. In particular, I can see him absorbing the kinetic energy of any shurikens thrown at him by Leo, and using that energy to grown stronger, so it may not be a great idea for Leo to go the same way as his brothers in that. His blood projectile is another problem too, as even if Leo is successfully in injuring him, the injury will provide Ryuji another avenue with which he can keep Leo on his toes, so this match up isn't exactly going to be a cake walk for him. But, Leo is a far more level headed fighter, and a much better balanced one at that, and I believe that his calmer demeanor is the necessary remedy for this fight, as a calm approach is the direct opposition to an aggressive one, and is also the one necessary to outfox an opponent like that. I can see Leo watching Ryuji carefully, only striking when it is truly wise to do so, and using Ryuji's more aggressive nature against him in this fight. He may even use Ryuji's kinetic energy absorption as an an opening as well, as attacking Ryuji when he is absorbing the energy, especially if there is a delay in that process, may grant him a greater opportunity to do even more significant damage, an out there thought but an interesting one to me. Can Ryuji absorb energy from all physical attacks though, or just projectile injuries, that is a bit confusing to me.

I wanted to get a sense of brutality when it came to writing out the recap for Donatello vs Chris, because I hadn't expected the votes to be so one-sided. So going with this in mind, I wrote with the idea that Donatello had to be colder and he also had to fight more intelligently against someone like Chris, but I had Chris get in a couple of licks in for whoever had voted for him by a number of one. But none the less, Donatello dominated that fight and I tried to keep it in his character. While he is the most docile of the Turtles, this doesn't mean that he isn't willing to do what's necessary.

A very good assessment of the match here considering what Leonardo is going to go up against. He definitely is not in for a walk in the park but he's not going to make it easy for Yamazaki either, and if he can stop him-- more power to him. I think Yamazaki has been beaten before in KOF and even Fatal Fury canon by the likes of Terry Bogard, and other characters. So we know that he can be beaten. As for him absorbing energy be it spiritual energy or kinetic energy, I don't think he's at the same level or capacity of someone like say Sebastian Shaw from the X-Men series who has a similar power but to a much greater degree. Whenever Yamazaki uses this power, he DOES infact feel pain from the blow, but looking at the types he's taking such as taking blows form Lucky Glauber's basketball, Mai Shiranui's fans, that's blunt force... But when we're talking about edged force, such as either being struck with a slash or a stab from Leonardo's katana... that MIGHT be a different story. MIGHT.

Leonardo's cold and calculating personality is definitely in contrast to Ryuji Yamazaki here, and his level of focus is something which he will need if he's going to face someone like him. When Leonardo set his mind to something, he definitely gets it done no matter what is affecting him be it pain, poison, blindness and his level of skill is something which Ryuji might not be expecting. So there's something to consider as well.

Another great set-up, Rakai. Man, Chris got bodied. Guess it goes to show that a focused Donnie is plenty dangerous in his own right. Great recap that reflects the final vote.

As for the match, Leo, as just about usual, may have the toughest task among his brothers in front of him. Yamazaki just might be the most dangerous member of his team, with his insane sadism, speed and power, as well as an unconventional fighting style. Leonardo, though, is the most skilled of the Turtles, and knows how to harness that skill better and without the typical mental roadblocks his brothers have to bypass. He may be able to use Yamazaki's lack of conventional technique and maybe even his psychopathy against him to an extent, and probably use the terrain to take cover/hide until he can find an opening.
