Michelangelo and the King of Dinosaurs moved in a circle as they closed it on one another. Both were sizing each other up, trying to assess for any potential weaknesses in their defenses. Michelangelo hunched as he moved his hands down, slipping is nunchaku in his utility belt. The Turtle raised his left hand up, all three fingers parted. King of Dinosaurs interpreted this as the Turtle wanted to engage with him in a brief contest of strength, and that was something which the dinosaur themed Luchador could respect. Both moved in to one another as King of Dinosaurs moved his arms out and interlocked both his hands with the mutant Red Ear Slider’s and when they had each other in a firm grip— both immediately would use their strength against one another as they pushed to overpower the other. Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello watched with mild interest to see what Michelangelo had planned for this particular situation. Angel, Ramon and El Fuerte watched with anticipation and great pride for their fellow Luchador.

King of Dinosaurs would lean in with his weight, intending to push the Turtle back but found himself suddenly being resisted by the red masked reptile. Michelangelo felt the might of his opponent, from the way his hands were being gripped and from the very push which he could feel as the Luchador aimed to overpower him. However, this was the advantage which the Turtle had over the man decked out in the Tyrannosaur costume. Michelangelo tensed up the muscles within his body and pushed back to resist King of Dinosaur’s strength. Surprised by this sudden display of might, King of Dinosaurs growled as he shifted forward with his weight and took a step forth to push the Turtle back once more, but Michelangelo took a step forward of his own and pushed back. The two were now pushing and resisting, their muscles burning oxygen as they worked to overwhelm one another. King of Dinosaurs took in a breath of air, and growled as he summoned more of his strength—only to suddenly watch as Michelangelo then dropped and swung forward between his legs, and seemingly yanked him forward and cause the Luchador to flip forward and slammed down onto his back. Quickly, Michelangelo hopped to his feet and turned to meet the fallen form of the King of Dinosaurs.

“Good thinking on Michelangelo’s part.” Donatello nodded.

King of Dinosaurs quickly rose to his feet and he quickly rushed in towards the red masked Turtle, and immediately swung out with his right arm in an attempt to clothesline his opponent. Michelangelo hunched down, evading the incoming clothes line and turned to meet King of Dinosaurs, who also turned to meet the mutant head on. King of Dinosaurs snapped his left leg out in a front kick which was aimed for Michelangelo’s mid-section, but the wily Turtle had moved his right hand down and deflected the incoming kick. Responding to this, Michelangelo set his sights on the Luchador’s mid-section and he pumped his right and left arm out four quick times with the intent to strike at his abdominal region to push the air out from him. King of Dinosaurs felt the impacts of each punch hitting into him, forcing him to grunt as he was caught off guard and then suddenly felt a mighty strike moving into him as Michelangelo turned in a spun and thrust his right leg out in a spinning back thrust kick. Following this, the Turtle again turned in a spin to the left and he pushed himself up with his feet and swung his right leg across inward, his foot smacking against the side of King of Dinosaur’s masked head as he landed a well-executed leaping crescent kick, causing the Luchador to briefly lose his footing. But Michelangelo reached out with his arms, taking hold of the sauropod themed wrestler by the wrist of his left arm, and turned in a spin only to lean forward and toss the man firmly onto the flooring of the deck.

“Ooof! I felt THAT one!” Raphael chuckled.

Working through the discomfort and the brief pain which he had been inflicted from Michelangelo’s hits, King of Dinosaur’s flipped onto his feet and he rushed in towards the Turtle. Summoning the vast amounts of strength within, he quickly swung his right arm vertically downward and then followed up by swinging his left arm diagonally up over to the right— the fingers on both hands spread with the claws extended out as the Ankylo Hammer had been unleashed by the Luchador. Michelangelo widened his eyes as he weaved from side to side, managing to evade the incoming strikes. But the wrestler leaned forward, now ramming into Michelangelo with his right shoulder extended out, and the Turtle felt the impact slamming into him as he was forced to move back.

With an opportunity at hand, King of Dinosaurs zeroed in on the Turtle as he then swiped his left arm across to the right, firmly planting the palm of his hand onto the size of Michelangelo’s face as he would slap the Turtle hard enough to leave a red imprint on the Terrapin’s green skin. Impacted, Michelangelo was momentary taken aback and stunned, but then felt a pair of hands placed on his shoulders only to be pulled forward. The Turtle widened his eyes as King of Dinosaur’s then swung his right elbow out and firmly hit him directly in the middle of his face not once, but several times. King of Dinosaurs would push Michelangelo down, before he would slam his right elbow down hard onto the Turtle’s carapace, causing Michelangelo to drop chest first onto the floor of the deck.

A brief moment of confusion entered into the Luchador’s mind— for what was supposed to be part of a costume, that shell felt awfully real and extremely hard. Hard enough to make King of Dinosaurs experience some discomfort in his elbow but he would shake it off. None the less, he would move his hands down and scoop Michelangelo within his grasp and position him as he would wrap his left arm around the Turtle’s neck, and place his right hand down onto his mid-section. He would heave the Turtle up, lifting him off the ground as he held him upside down and then leaned back only to fall and drop Michelangelo firmly onto his back once more.

Michelangelo writhed in pain as he worked to comprehend what had happened, and then he immediately felt hands on his shoulder once more, heaving him up to his feet. Widening his eyes as he had come to his senses, Michelangelo immediately then snapped his left leg out and firmly struck King of Dinosaur’s directly in his right leg’s shin as he would motion his arms upward in a circular fashion, his hands striking at the larger fighter’s wrists to remove his hands from his shoulders. Michelangelo quickly then turned with his hips and he pumped his arms forward and out three times, striking the wrestler directly into his mid-section and chest before he then turned with his hips and snapped his right leg horizontally across for King of Dinosaur’s side. The Luchador took the blows directly into his mid-section, grunting out with each impact made as he could feel the power behind the mutant Red Ear Slider’s blows, and then felt a stinging sensation followed by the air being forced from him as Michelangelo’s foot hit it’s intended mark. King of Dinosaur’s lurched forward a bit as he cringed up from the discomfort. Michelangelo then turned in a spin and he swung his left leg across to the right as he took aim for King of Dinosaur’s head. In reaction to this, King of Dinosaur’s raised his arms, intending to block the incoming kick but Michelangelo pulled back last second, only to then snap his leg forward in a side-kick aimed out for King of Dinosaur’s masked face, firmly striking the Luchador after leading in with a fake out.

Michelangelo quickly rushed forward and he turned with his hips only to pump his right and left arm forward and out but this time unleashed a succession of six punches. Quickly, the Turtle then pushed himself with his feet and threw his weight back, somersaulting away from his opponent before he landed feet first onto the floor of the deck, then vaulting himself forward and snapping his right leg out in a rushing side kick—firmly striking King of Dinosaurs in his mid-section and caused the wrestler to lose his footing and fall onto his back as he tripped over one of the many beach benches found all around the deck surrounding the pool.

Grinning, Michelangelo rushed forward as he moved to King of Dinosaurs. He then had tensed up his leg muscles only to pounce forward, throw his weight forward and curled himself into a ball as he flipped in towards his opponent with the intent to slam his body weight onto him.

“ATTACK!”

However, this would prove to Michelangelo’s follow as King of Dinosaurs then rose to his feet. He summoned the vast amounts of strength within himself again, and directed it to be focused in his arms. He threw his right arm up and reached out with his hand, now executing his Yucatan Punch. Michelangelo felt a mighty impact slamming into his body and the momentum of his attack was ceased. As Michelangelo was about to drop, King of Dinosaurs moved his arms and took hold of the Turtle within his grasp. He would move to position himself behind Michelangelo, only to then tense up his leg muscles and push himself up into the air, leaping at a height of twenty feet. This caught Donatello, Raphael and Leonardo off guard as they widened their eyes upon seeing the Luchador becoming airborne but then gasped as soon as King of Dinosaurs threw his weight back to set himself upside down, with Michelangelo in his arms, and now came down spinning in what could only be described as an Izuna Drop, but King of Dinosaurs would shout the name of the technique as he slammed Michelangelo down onto the deck.

“ZETSUMETSU HURRICANE!”

“AAAUUGH!” Michelangelo gasped in extreme discomfort and pain.

King of Dinosaurs would rise once more, and moved to grab hold of the red masked Terrapin. Positioning him to his feet, the Luchador would then perform his Rex Head technique as he reared himself back and lunged his head forward, firmly striking Michelangelo with a solid head butt. The Luchador would again perform his Akylo Hammer attack, moving his hands for Michelangelo’s plastron. The Turtle would be struck by the Luchador, now feeling the power behind such a blow and stumbled from the impact. King of Dinosaurs would prepared to now unleash his Assault Raptor technique as he leapt forward, intending to leap onto the mutant Turtle.

However, Michelangelo shook his head from side to side and fought to regain his senses. He would push himself up and throw himself into a reverse somersault as he would swing both his legs up, now firmly impacting King of Dinosaurs directly into his chin. And when he planted his hands onto the floor of the deck, Michelangelo pushed himself to be airborne and he would snap his left leg up and out for his opponent’s back—firmly striking King of Dinosaurs and sent him flying back a good six feet. Finally having some distance between himself and his opponent, Michelangelo took this moment for a short breather but kept his eye on the Luchador.

“Okay… You’re better than you look! A lot better! Damn… I’m gonna feel all of this in the morning.”

“Peleas bien, Tortuga ninja!” King of Dinosaurs responded.

Michelangelo and King of Dinosaurs then had encircled around one another, once more now examining each other to determine the shape and condition of one another.

King of Dinosaurs would rush forwad, his arms out stretched to grab at the Turtle but Michelangelo side-stepped to his left and swung his right leg across in a roundhouse kick as he took aim for the Luchador’s midsection, but the King of Dinosaurs crossed his arms and took the blow directly in his forearms, effectively blocking the attack. He retaliated by swinging is right and left arm across, fists clenched firmly with the intent to strike Michelangelo across the face, but the Turtle hunched down beneath the incoming blows only to respond by swinging his right arm up and firmly striking the Luchador in the chin, and added onto it as he then swung his left arm across to the right, firmly striking the man across his masked head. King of Dinosaurs stumbled from the blows, now leaving himself open as Michelangelo then had shifted with a step forward and pushed his right elbow out— firmly striking the muscular man directly in his solar plexus. The Luchador lurched forward, the air being pushed from his lungs as a pressure moved up from his stomach and into his chest. Michelangelo reached out with his arms and then he took hold of the large man by the shoulders, only to lean back and drop onto the deck floor, roll back and toss King of Dinosaurs ahead as he performed the Tomoe Nage rolling throw.

King of Dinosaurs flew back and soon found himself hitting the deck floor flat onto his back, again causing the air to leave his lungs. The Luchador planted his hands onto the ground and pushed himself to rise once more, although he could begin to feel the fatigue getting to him. He hadn’t expected the Turtle to be this good, but then again—perhaps their level of skill was the reason why they had fought so many powerful opponents and managed to overcome them despite their seemingly lack of powers. That was something which he could respect, perhaps admire even.

But this fight had gone on long enough for him.

Summoning the vast amounts of strength within himself once more, King of Dinosaurs flexed every muscle within his very body only to roar out like the Tyrannical King of the Dinosaurs he took inspiration from. He now rushed forward— faster than what he had shown earlier and he snapped the jaws of his mask, perfectly emulating the Tyrannosaurus Rex. This was one of his most powerful techniques..

“DINNER OF DINOSAUR!”

Michelangelo then had snapped back into his fighting stance, and simply stood as he awaited for his opponent to come in towards him— snapping jaws and claws extended. He measured each step of his opponent, measured the distance and timed the speed which he was coming at. And when King of Dinosaurs was close enough, Michelangelo then moved his right hand down and he took hold of one of his nunchaku only to quickly spin it within his grasp, and he immediately then pushed himself up to a leap and then swung the weapon upwards as he took to the air, moving it for King of Dinosaur’s chin.

“RISING THUNDER!”

An audible whacking sound had echoed through the upper deck of the cruise vessel as King of Dinosaur had been impacted, and now was sent flying across only to soar over the rail and fell towards the lower deck of the ship. King of Dinosaurs would slam down onto the top of a wooden table, the outdoor furniture breaking his fall as he slammed onto the lower deck.

Michelangelo rushed over to the edge of the upper deck, eyes widened as he had not intended to put King of Dinosaurs through something like that. The red masked Turtle just looked down and watched as his opponent seemed to make no movements. Ten seconds had passed and the Luchador didn’t rise. Michelangelo had earned this match for his team but he wasn’t so sure if he wanted it to be this way.

“Oh damn, oh damn, oh damn, oh damn!” Michelangelo exclaimed.

But to his pleasant surprise, King of Dinosaurs moved an arm and then the other only to sit himself up and he shook his head from side to side, fighting of the cob-webs which seemed to be affecting his senses. Michelangelo breathed a sigh of relief as he moved his left hand up, brushing his brow as he felt a weight being lifted off from his shoulders. The Luchador looked up to Michelangelo and raised his left hand, extending thumbs up to the wily Turtle before making his way to the stairs to head back to the upper deck to rejoin his teammates.

“Eh, King of Dinosaurs is very tough! A fall like that wouldn’t really hurt him too much! So no worries, compadres!” Angel grinned.

“Alright, Mikey bagged this one… So who is going to be next?” Raphael asked.

“Si, who is definitely going to be next? Hmmm…” Angel spoke.

Both the Turtles and Team Mexico looked to each of their respective members and briefly discussed on how the arrangement of the next bout was going to proceed.

“Alright, the last arrangements went like this… Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello and then myself. Mikey just earned us a win here, so now we gotta mix it up again. Raph, you wanna go?” Leonardo looked to his hot tempered sibling.

“Nah man, not yet… Might as well see what these guys can do. They just look like wrestlers to me but seeing how one of them took on Mikey… I’m guessing they’re pretty good and strong. Takin’ a wait and see approach.”

Leonardo nodded his head in understanding and then looked over to Donatello, wondering what his stance on this situation was going to be.

“I suppose I don’t have a problem going next. I’m feeling pretty good about this considering how I did on my last match! So… why the hell not?” Donatello grinned.

Leonardo moved his left hand out and firmly patted Donatello on the back of his shell as the brainy Turtle stepped forward to meet the challenge ahead. Donatello moved his right hand up and took hold of his staff, now drawing the weapon out only to spin the weapon gracefully before he would slam the end of it down onto the floor of the deck. The intellectual reptile then looked over to the opposing team as he kept his grin.

“So, which one of you is gonna be next?”

The remaining members of Team Mexico then leaned to one another and began to speak in Spanish, deciding to who would be the next one to go. Angel, Ramon and El Fuerte then had looked over to the Turtles and then back to one another, huddling before they would come to a decision. One of them, the man with the eyepatch and green with black clothing now stepped forth and nudged his head up to the red masked Terrapin.

“Hey, homes! I guess it’s gonna be my turn. What do you say we make this fun, eh?” Ramon grinned.

Donatello looked over to the blonde haired Mexican man and nodded in agreement. He gripped his staff firmly within his grasp and then swung it down, now tucking it underneath his right arm as he moved into his fighting stance. The brainy Turtle then looked over to Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo. Mikey smiled as he raised his left hand up and gave his brother a fist pump in support. Raphael crossed his arms and he nodded to Donatello, showing his support as well. Leonardo just gave Donatello a reassuring stare, softly smiled and nodded.

Ramon and Donatello stared to one another as they moved in a circular, with each step they made drawing each other closer to another. Both took in light breathes, eagerly waiting for the other to make the first move.

The next match up between the Turtles and Team Mexico is officially underway! I can say that writing out the recap between Michelangelo and King of Dinosaurs was relatively easy to work on because aside from a few moves, King of Dinosaurs wasn't as flashy as a lot of the Martial Arts type characters in King of Fighters happen to be, as he is based in pro-wrestling, so I had an idea on how the recap was going to turn out. Also, it was a nice change of pace since the matches aren't going to be overly violent and dire, as I get a relatively friendly personality from the members of Team Mexico. So writing out Michelangelo and King of Dinosaurs as being a respectful match made things a lot easier for me.

And as for this particular match, well... I felt like as if Donatello, much like Michelangelo really had been left on the back burner a lot so I figured I might as well have him go next after Michelangelo, who himself had a fairly decent match against Yashiro and just recently, King of Dinosaurs. And Donatello did so well against Chris, that I figured that I might as well have him go up against someone who had a fair level of skill and technicality, and it was a tie between Ramon and El Fuerte but I ultimately went with Ramon as this would be his CBUB debut match.

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

Donatello (Mirage) is low tier superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation.

Donatello (Mirage) possesses a new Electro Bo-Staff, Electro Shurikens, Explosive Shurikens, Kunai and Modified Laser Equipped Roomba.

Ramon is in Peak Conditioning due to his training.

Ramon has his moveset from the KOF games.

I always like Ramon's moveset. I really want to vote for him but I don't think Donatello would lose this.

Thanks for commenting, and while Donatello seems to have gotten the shortstick out of the Turtles in a few matches done previously, he has taken out some pretty skilled and notable fighters himself-- namely Jubei Yagyu and Goro Daimon.

Inspired match up here Rakai, the Luchador/Turtles fight was quite an interesting read to be sure. Talk about a total mix of cultures going on here, but it works out pretty well. The fight recap was well done too, showing the reader that while Mikey and the others aren't or rather aren't fully versed in a Luchador wrestling fighting style, they are still more than capable of adapting to said style and countering it with either its own or another style better suited to counter the Luchador style.

Donnie will have a have to utilize his staff here to great effect, as Ramon flying style attacks will keep him on defensive from a vast number of aerial assaults. He'll probably have to focus on where Ramon is intending to be, as opposed to where he is, as that might be the only way to win here. Aside of that, Donnie will need to use somewhat of a similar approach to this fight as Mikey did, in switching between styles and moves throughout this fight, in an effort to stump Ramon and gain advantage there. His physical attributes, combined with his experience however, make me sincerely believe that he'll pull through pretty easily in spite of these challenges though.

I felt that Ninjutsu versus Lucha Libre would be very interesting to watch from a thematic and theatrical standpoint. Ninjutsu is all about stealth and deception, and Lucha Libra is all about the acrobatics and high flying techniques. So I kind of wanted to reflect that in the recap.

A good breakdown of the match up here, thanks for the insight and comment!

Great set-up, Rakai, and sorry about getting to it a bit late. Great and pretty intense recap with Mikey and King of Dinosaurs. Interesting to see Mikey turn the tables on KoD with some wrestling moves of his own and eventually ring him out.

As for the match, Ramon might keep Donatello on his toes a bit with his speedy moves, but Donnie will likely prevail with his skill and tech. And of course, just like with the fountain in his match-up with Chris, Donnie has a tool handy should Ramon "take a dip" in the pool nearby ...

....Donnie can't catch a fucking break, can he?

I never got a chance to vote on this since I've doubled down on hours as of late.

I'd have gone with Donnie, the Turtles have fought along the likes of Batman, I don't see Ramon being much of an issue in the end.

Both the IDW and Mirage interpretations of Donatello have fought alongside Batman in the Batman/TMNT III crossover.

Exactly so if you want to count that as an unchecked vote, be my guest.

I'm just really irritated that the draws are getting more and more consistent. It doesn't really help me as a writer and actually dissuades me from wanting to do more.
