THE TRUE CHOSEN ONE: A 2ND FIGHTING GAME CROSSOVER PART 21

(Mortal Kombat/Killer Instinct/BlazBlue/Darkstalkers/Guilty Gear/Bloody Roar/Red Earth/Eternal Champions/
Mace: The Dark Age)

image.jpeg.e1bd59f718e72abb8b27cf9782c30b8c.jpeg

In her new lab, Professor Kokonoe scoured through the research already done there for interdimensional travel for any useful tidbits. There was no talk of cauldrons or boundaries or anything else that connected to her understanding of how such travel would be accomplished. It was clear that any sort of device or gateway she could conceivably construct would have to be built from scratch. Kokonoe, however, did come across something else that caught her attention. Close by, Litchi noticed out of the corner of her eye, Victor and Iron Tager beginning to stir in their stasis fields.

LITCHI: Professor, they are waking up.

KOKONOE: Then quickly take them to the other room. These notes here about adjacent realms to this one. The ones listed here are Outworld, Netherrealm, Edenia, and the Chaosrealm. There might be some useful information here to help us discover a way to travel home. I can’t afford to have either one of them distract me.

LITCHI: Yeah, sure.

Litchi turned to the two former ZLF scientists that stood behind her.

LITCHI: Would you give me a hand? These guys are very heavy. Also, do you have beds we can put them on?

SCIENTIST #1: Yes m’am

The first scientist scurried out of the room to bring in beds that would support the enormous frames of both Iron Tager and Victor Von Gerdenheim. The second scientist began to reluctantly assist Litchi. Once they successfully transported both Victor and Tager to the back room, Litchi began to use her medical training to make both men comfortable and ensure full recoveries. These actions surprised the two ZLF scientists.

SCIENTIST #1: You are helping out Victor? But he fought against your friend.

LITCHI: Such events happen. The professor doesn’t appear to view him as a threat or an enemy. Sometimes I fear her hubris can get the best of her, but I trust her judgment on these things.

SCIENTIST #2:  Who are you people?

Victor was the first to fully wake up. Litchi transformed her Mantenbo staff into a stool and sat next to him.

VICTOR: Huh? What happened? Did I win?

LITCHI: Judging by the condition I found you both in, I think it is safe to say neither of you won.

Victor moved his head to the right to see that Iron Tager was laid out near to him.

LITCHI: Although I must add that I have seen people in much worse shape after fighting the Red Devil, so you should still feel pride in your combat abilities.

The ZLF scientists continued to exchange confused glances caused by Litchi’s cordial nature.

VICTOR: If I didn’t win then I may never find my way home.

LITCHI: What is your name? Where are you from?

VICTOR: My name is Victor. I’m from far, far away. A whole different world. Humans here promised Victor they would help me get home if I protected them.

LITCHI: Hello, my name is Doctor Litchi. I am also from a different world. Could we be from the same one? Are you from Kagutsuchi or perhaps Izanagi or Yabiko?

VICTOR: I’ve never heard of any of those places. I am a Darkstalker from Germany.

Litchi rubbed her chin.

LITCHI: So more than one world is connected to this one. Or perhaps we are all being funneled into this world. Fascinating. I wonder if the professor knows.

VICTOR: I have no idea what you are talking about.

LITCHI: Sorry Victor, I’m just thinking out loud. Let me take a look at that arm of yours, it looks like Tager really twisted it badly.

IRON TAGER: Litchi? Is that you?

Litchi turned to see that her old ally was now awake as well.

LITCHI: Nice to see you Tager, although you have looked better.

IRON TAGER: What happened to that monster? He really packed a punch.

Litchi noticed Tager struggling to focus and grabbed his glasses that were placed on a nearby table.

LITCHI: Here you are. I assume you mean Victor. He is here too, but I have not found anything monstrous about him thus far. He is simply another soul stranded in a strange world just like us.

VICTOR: You are stranded here like Victor?

Litchi nodded.

LITCHI: Yes. But with the professor looking into it I have all the confidence in the world that we will find a way back. Probably will find a way back for you too.

A loud crash from the main lab area interrupted their conversation.

IRON TAGER: What was that?

Litchi stood up and transformed her Mantabo staff back from a stool.

LITCHI: I don’t know, I will go check it out.

The second ZLF scientist gave a knowing look to his co-worker.

SCIENTIST #1: Is it?

SCIENTIST #2: It has to be. And he is our ticket out of this.

In the main lab, former ZLF soldiers now working as mercenaries for hire for former lead scientist, Hajime Busuzima, flooded through the entrance. Kokonoe activated booby traps she had previously set-up. She became annoyed once it was clear she would have to put a pause to her research to properly deal with the threat. Busuzima followed his mercenaries in and marveled at the sight of Kokonoe.

BUSUZIMA: Well look at you. It was definitely worth the trip.

Kokonoe rolled her eyes as she stood to her feet. Suddenly, Litchi burst through the back door. She thrust her Mantenbo staff and it landed perfectly vertical by the front door. Litchi took down a few mercenaries with a series of jumping kicks. Her staff became humanoid and punched out at the mercenaries much to their horror once she activated the Thirteen Orphans technique. Busuzima’s eyes widened at this unexpected display of magic. Once he got a proper look at Litchi, he grinned.

BUSUZIMA: What do we have here? Aren’t you a beautiful sight?

Litchi was very accustomed to comments like this from men, however Busuzima was actually referring to the tiny panda nestled in her hair.

BUSUZIMA: Is that your pet? It is obviously alive.

LITCHI: Don’t worry about him.

Litchi summoned her staff back to her which twirled like a helicopter propeller knocking down the last two remaining mercenaries before landing back in her hand.

LITCHI: Worry about yourself.

Litchi swung her Mantabo staff at Busuzima. A quick yellow flash appeared and with it Busuzima’s new partner, the devious Edenian, Tanya. Tanya teleported in front of Busuzima and blocked Litchi’s strike with her naginata.

TANYA: Can’t let you hurt him; he is too much of a commodity at the moment.

Litchi jumped back and regrouped.

TANYA: Busuzima, you were right. It was a good idea to come here. I wasn’t aware there was any magic in this realm outside of Nightwolf and the gods.

BUSUZIMA: We will take her for experimentation along with the cat girl. I am already salivating at the crossbreeding possibilities with that little pet of hers.

LITCHI: You won’t be taking anyone or anything you disgusting jerk.

Tanya pulled out her kobu-jutsu tonfas and stepped into battle with Litchi as Kokonoe and Busuzima looked on.

Tanaya is a bit underrated because she's not a real popular character. I say Litchi wins though. She's got a few too many tricks in her move set that Tanya just won't be ready for.

I think Litchi wins, while lore wise she probably a mid-tier level Blazblue character, Tanya in my mind in near the bottom of MK’s tiers, mostly cause like Rain she has a very abysmal win-loss record in the Story Modes.

Besides Tanya’s gameplay is so boring, she’s basically a discount Jade.

Another good set-up, Johnny. The scientific angle seems to loom pretty large in this arc.

As for the match, I'm thinking Litchi might win this one, too. Her magic seems like it might give her an edge here.
