Chapter 5: Tragedies of War

After learning of Bane's defeat on Endor, Destro started to tremble. The weapons manufacturer knew that Cobra Commander would be furious once he learned of his failure to secure the key that would unlock the rest of the map. Cobra Commander expected perfection through his ranks and despised any form of failure. Destro feared that once Cobra Commander learned of Cad Bane's defeat, he would ultimately blame the leader of M.A.R.S. for the failure in securing the ancient key. While trying to think of a way to explain the recent failure to the leader of Cobra, Destro thought about the mission on Courscant. He had already sent the assignment to his asset in the field. The weapons manufacturer took a deep breath once he realized that the war was far from over. They still had the map in their possession and they could also secure the decoder. In his mind, Bane's defeat was a simple setback. A minor defeat for Cobra in what would ultimately be a supreme victory for the Commander.

While sitting at his desk, Destro heard the door to his office burst open. He rose to his feet as Cobra operatives flooded inside. The leader of M.A.R.S. then watched as the Commander came into the room at a brisk pace. The weapons manufacturer could sense that there was an anger burning within Cobra Commander as he made his way into the room. Destro put up his hands up and started backing away from his desk. Before he could mutter a single word to plead for his life, the Commander grabbed Destro by the collar and tossed him against his desk.  Cobra Commander hissed while his fingers clenched around Destro's throat. Destro squirmed and struggled as the Commander's gripped tightened around his neck. The leader of M.A.R.S. tried to push the Cobra leader off of him, but Cobra Commander continued to push down against him. As Destro struggled for life, Cobra Commander eventually released his powerful grip. The Commander slowly backed away and watched while Destro fell down upon the floor grasping for air.

"Give me a reason that I should not have you skinned alive, Destro?!" Cobra Commander growled.

"You..." Destro coughed. "You need me, Commander!"

"You are foolish, Destro! I don't need you!" The Commander hissed.

"We still have the map! I still have an operative that is going to steal the decoder!" Destro pleaded.

"But we do not have the key to unlock to rest of the map!" Cobra Commander shouted.

"It is a minor setback, Commander! We are still going to win this war before it even starts!" Destro cried out.

"There is no we, Destro! You are nothing more than a minor servant for Cobra. The war has already started! Your failures have resulted in the New Republic learning of Cobra's existence. I will have to find a way to strike them before they know what to do!" Cobra Commander roared.

"How will you do that, Commander?" Destro asked while rising to his feet.

"You have an operative heading to Coruscant to steal the decoder. I will send a very powerful ally to assassinate leaders of the New Republic. That should cause enough of a distraction to allow your operative to steal the decoder. Perhaps, it will even give us the opportunity to get someone steal the key!" The Commander hissed.

"But sir, the New Republic leaders will be heavily guarded. What kind of ally would be able to strike them?" Destro asked while continuing to struggle for air.

"Do not worry about that, Destro!" Cobra Commander chuckled. "My ally will have enough artillery to strike a major blow against the New Republic!"

"Who is this ally of yours?" Destro asked as he gently rubbed his hand against his throat.

"Your concerns should be on how you will make things right for Cobra, not on who I am sending to Coruscant!" Cobra Commander growled before walking away.

Destro watch while Cobra Commander and his men quickly left his office. The leader of M.A.R.S. sat down in his chair and felt the humiliation burning deep within his chest. He thought about sending word to his asset to inform him that if he failed the mission, then a mark would be placed on his head. As Destro looked over his screen, he began to ponder about who the Commander had planned for this particular operation on Coruscant.

While storming through his base with a burning rage, Cobra Commander growled in fury over the recent failure. He thought about having Destro executed but he knew that there was still use for the leader of M.A.R.S. The doors to the flight deck opened wide as Cobra soldiers stood at attention. Cobra Commander walked past his legion of soldiers while heading toward a shuttle craft. The doors of the shuttle opened and the Commander stepped inside the ship. He sat down while a Cobra Pilot started the craft. The shuttle craft slowly started to lift off the flight deck and flew into the skies above. As the small shuttle flew past different ships scattered throughout this system, Cobra Commander started preparing himself for what was about to happen. This ally was dangerous and had been imprisoned for thousands of years beneath ancient pyramids. The Commander knew that he could pose a threat to his organization, but the Cobra leader felt he had no other choice.

As the shuttle approached a sand covered planet, the Commander started reflecting on the stories that he had heard about Cybertron. While on Earth, he remembered hearing about the many battles between the Autobots and the Decepticons. Despite the many exploits between these two factions, Cobra Commander still sought to rule supreme over all life in the universe. After his many defeats at the hands of his galaxy's mightiest heroes, Cobra found themselves here in this galaxy far, far away. The Commander hoped that his new plan for domination would allow him to take control of this galaxy and his own.

While the shuttle descended from the skies and onto this desert planet, Cobra Commander looked over the pyramids that rested upon the surface. The pyramids were massive in size and formed a circled around what appeared to be a valley. The shuttle landed within the valley. As the doors of the ship opened, Cobra Commander and his team of soldiers stepped out onto the warm dusty surface. Powerful rays from the sun beat down on the Cobras while they started to make their way into one of the pyramids. Sweltering heat pressed against the team of terrorists as they walked past many forms of equipment that had been placed throughout the inside of these pyramids. Soon they found themselves in a lower level of the pyramid and Cobra Commander saw large energy rays surrounding a massive robot beast.

"LET ME GO AND I WILL PROMISE YOU A QUICK DEATH!" The robot roared while glaring down at the Cobra Commander.

"Oh, how the mighty have Fallen!" Cobra Commander chuckled. "But what if I promised you glory and power?!"

"There is nothing that you could promise me that would give me the glory and power that I deserve!" The Decepticon cried out.

"But there is!" Cobra Commander shouted. "I have a map that will bring the very vengeance that you have longed for and the very power that we both desire!"

"Then why are you here?" The Fallen asked with a frightening growl. "Why do you come to me now?"

"This map can only be opened by a mystical key and deciphered by a decoder. Those items are on a planet called Coruscant. They are in the hands of weak men and women!" Cobra Commander hissed.

"You want me to retrieve this key and decoder? I have been many things in my time but I have never been a lackey to anyone!" The Fallen roared.

"I want your help in killing these men and women! Send a message to this galaxy that a new age is coming!" Cobra Commander cried out.

"Make no mistake, you are nothing more than a lower life form. An insect that crawls around from place to place. By the time this war of yours is over, I will burn all that you know and I will destroy you!" The Fallen screeched while pushing himself against energy rays that kept him at bay.

From within his helmet, a grin formed across Cobra Commander's cheeks. "When that time comes, you do not want to make an enemy of me!" Cobra Commander yelled. "Once we leave, I will open your cage. I will then give you the coordinates to Coruscant."

On Coruscant,

Rocket was surrounded by New Republic Rangers. The skies were filled with ships of many kinds while droids roamed freely on the streets. The upper level of this planet was a giant city that spanned as far as his eyes could see. The small Guardian of the Galaxy spit on the ground as he was being led to a heavily guarded building. Rocket grinned as he thought about the distress signal that he sent his team before he was captured by these Rangers of the New Republic. He grumbled under his breath while looking around in all directions. Rocket then found himself being led inside the doors of that massive senate building that had New Republic banners hanging down from the ceilings above. There were statues lined up throughout the building and a great multitude of different lifeforms walking around. The New Republic Rangers created an opening ahead and Rocket saw what appeared to be a room filled with people.

"You gotta be kidding me." Rocket sighed while being directed inside the room.

As he walked into the room, he felt many sets of eyes staring him down. His eyes quickly surveyed the room and he saw what appeared to be leaders from all across this galaxy inside this meeting room. Within this group of Galactic leaders and senators, there was a kind looking woman with reddish colored hair. She had a warm smile that rested on her cheeks and a white robe that covered her. This senator slowly sauntered over toward the Guardian of the Galaxy and looked down at him with a kind gaze.

"What is your name, little one?" Mon Mothma asked with that same warm smile.

"I can tell ya, that I hate being called little one! The name's Rocket." Rocket growled.

"Rocket, where are you from?" Mon Mothma asked.

"Not from around here! In fact, a whole other galaxy that is far away from here!" Rocket replied.

"I see... Why did you come here?" Mon Mothma asked.

"My idiot captain sent me to this galaxy to find some stupid key! Then I found a bunch of little furry animals and fought some old blue geezer in a dorky looking hat." Rocket hissed.

"I understand that you were able to find the key." Mon Mothma replied.

"Yeah, I found it. Then your goons arrested me and took it!" Rocket yelled.

"Why were you looking for it?" Mon Mothma asked.

"Well, some really bad guys from my galaxy are trying to cause some problems for every galaxy between here and who knows where. My captain received word from a team on a planet called Earth that they are looking for a nasty weapon." Rocket replied.

Mon Mothma gave a quick glance at a woman in the crowd of leaders. She then looked back down at Rocket.

"Who are these people that are looking for this weapon?" Mon Mothma asked.

"A bunch of idiots called Cobra!" Rocket growled.

"This could be a trap! He could be trying to find the weapon for himself!" Admiral Akbar interjected while walking out of the crowd.

"I ain't looking for this stupid weapon and I sure as hell ain't a putting you in a trap!" Rocket shouted.

"He is not our enemy." Mon Mothma responded.

"How do you know? He could have been the one that attacked the outpost!" Admiral Akbar argued.

"The one survivor of that attack said that when his Mandalorian contact delivered the data pad, the mercenary that he faced had a Cobra symbol on his gear. I do not believe this Rocket would give away their information as easily as he has if he was one of them." Leia said as she stepped out of the crowd. "Nor do I believe he is after the weapon."

"How can you be sure that he is not a traitor?" Akbar asked.

"I can see it in his eyes." Mon Mothma replied. "He has eyes that have seen much hurt and pain. They have also seen good."

"He speaks of a weapon." Akbar said while pointing down at Rocket. "What kind of weapon is it?"

Leia and Mon Mothma glanced at each other once again with an uneasy gaze. Mon Mothma let out a steady breath before shaking her head.

"Before the destruction of the first Death Star, our intelligence gathered word of a powerful weapon that could be extremely dangerous for the entire galaxy. We decided to hide it from our enemies." Leia responded with a sigh. "And our allies."

"What? We could have prevented the deaths of millions. We could have stopped the Empire before they destroyed so many lives!" Akbar cried out.

"At what cost? Weapons of destruction only cause more pain and harm than good. Imagine if the Empire found it or even someone such as Saw Gerrera. More lives would have been lost." Mon Mothma pleaded.

"Hey, I think this is more of a conversation for the adults in the room." Rocket said sarcastically. "I think I should take the super-secret key and go back to my team."

"What is your team called?" Leia asked.

"The freakin' Guardians of the Galaxy." Rocket muttered with a grin.

"We could use their help. It sounds like they know about this Cobra threat. I can even ask Luke." Leia said while looking at both Mon Mothma and Akbar.

Suddenly, several explosions sent waves through the senate temple. The ceiling above cracked and large pieces of rubble rained down below. Shortly after, Rocket woke up to a ringing noise in his ear. His head throbbed while his eyes were overcome with a daze. As the ringing faded and the world became clear, he heard a crying sound from behind. Rocket glanced back and saw Leia dropping down to her knees. Tears dropped from her eyes as she tried to dig away at the rubble. Rocket then saw the charred lifeless body of Mon Mothma underneath the rubble. Before Leia could tear her out of the debris, she was carried away by Rangers of the New Republic. After being led out of the temple, they were surrounded by screams and explosions in all directions.

"Give me my guns, I'll blast whoever did this!" Rocket shouted before his mouth dropped open. His eyes widen as he saw a large ship flying over the skies above.

The ship then transformed into an enormous terrifying robot that towered over the different surrounding structures.

"On second thought, I think we can find another solution!" Rocket shouted.

"OPEN PADDOCK 9!" Admiral Akbar shouted over his communicator.

"What is in Paddock 9?" Leia asked.

"An old test subject that Palpatine kept hidden." Akbar replied.

Next to the senate building, the ground started to open wide. A powerful surge of electricity shot through the cage as the Zillo Beast roared to life. The terrifying creature emerged out of the Paddock and stood high over the world around. In the corner of his eyes, the Fallen saw the terrifying Zillo Beast and charged at him with all of his might. The Zillo Beast roared as it lunged at the Fallen.

Hmm... the Fallen is a lot smaller.

The Zillo Beast can at least absorb electrical energy and not even a lightsaber could hurt it.

I'll go with the Zillo Beast.

The Fallen might be smaller but let’s not forget that Transformers in general are walking city busters, with the more power ones being at least continent if not planet busters:

That’s Galvatron/Megatron destroying the minor planet Thrull with one blast! And also keep in mind that The Fallen was one of the original Thirteen Primes created by Primus (the Transformers God) and founders of the Transformers race. The Fallen himself being their Satan analogue who betrayed his creator and brethren and formed the OG Decepticons. Fun fact but Megatron named himself after the Fallen’s original name, Megatronus, because he so admired the old Decepticon’s brutality and power.

So yeah if this is Gen 1 version of The Fallen, then he stomps the Zillo Beast. Of course if this is the movie version (from Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen) then it’ll certainly be a close match. Keep in mind though that while the Zillo Beast is lightsaber proof, even the Bayverse Transformers are tough even to survive the cold vacuum of space as well as direct reentry through Earth’s atmosphere, so their armor is rather strong as well and they have no trouble piercing each other’s armors. That plus The Fallen’s speed advantage, gravitational powers, and greater intelligence lead me to think that even movie version of The Fallen could beat the Zillo Beast.

Good argument for the Fallen.

I'm going with him.

And yeah, people do underestimate Transformers' power.

Hey, the Zillo Beast’s first official match! I added Zillo to the site years ago.

From what I read; the match is very good. I give the setup a 5.0.

Good match Boratz. Need to look into the Zilo Beast a little, but I'm leaning towards the Fallen.
