Moonlight cast uncertain shadows over the old rooftops of Victorian London. The uneven tiles, shiny in places from centuries-old soot and grime, became a chilling battleground at the stroke of midnight. It was not an ordinary night for the city, now teeming with life under darkness. The rooftops were no longer just a place for chimney sweeps – it was a place where the fight for the city's present, past, and future would be fought.

In one corner, hovering against the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral, against the backdrop of the full moon, was a silhouette. Clad in her classic Victorian-era outfit with a magical hat atop her head, it was the beloved caretaker of children, Mary Poppins. Her face wearing a grim expression, contrasting with the warm kindness usually residing there. Her hand gripped her most trusty weapon—a seemingly harmless umbrella that held in it an undeterminable degree of magic. At her feet, her ever-present carpet bag, heavier tonight with objects she deemed necessary for the battle.

Filling her magical bag were not her usual idiosyncratic items. Instead, a peculiar array of tools was prepared for this night. A jar full of Starlight Mints twinkled inside the bag, their glamour ready to act as sudden yet temporary light sources. A solid gold mirror, an indirect observation tool, was placed neatly beside a scale model of Big Ben, enchanted with a time-stopping charm.

In the opposing corner, half-hidden in the shadows and forever frozen in grotesque, mid-pounce positions, were the Weeping Angels. Their cold and hard stone-like forms defied their essence—their very existence woven into the fabric of time and space. They had haunted the cosmos for countless millennia, seeking to feast on the time-energy of unsuspecting creatures. With Victorian London now in their sight, they stood ready to unravel the timelines of the city’s residents.

Motionless, they hatched a strategy to ensnare Mary Poppins—an elaborate, coordinated attack that would exploit their unsettling ability to only move when unobserved. Their gruesome shapes scattered among the silhouettes of chimneys and spires, with the stealth of prowling cats, they encircled their singular target.

Yet, tonight they faced more than they had bargained for. A woman—a nanny—an entity whose power they barely conceived. And so, the stage was set for this improbable, magical showdown. Under a full moon’s glow, across the century-old shadows on the rooftops, a clash between a timeless guardian and timeless predators was to begin.
