Culwych1 Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 The cold beer flows down your throat in a refreshing wave of comfort but does little to stop your hands from shaking. Although the pub isn’t busy, your eyes dart from table to table, wondering how there can be so many people sitting comfortably without knowing the true horrors that plague our reality. Tom, Caitin, Brianny, Paul. Friends you had known for years, had bled with, and fought alongside, all dead. The images of their blood spraying through the air as they met tooth and blade would forever haunt you. It had all happened so fast… The mission, to retrieve a talisman from a long forgotten underground lair in London. A walk in the park. Until those… monsters had appeared. They had come out of nowhere, also seeking the talisman, and in a heartbeat had torn through your friends as you desperately ran, clambered, and crawled away in a pitiful display of cowardice. The strum of a guitar gets your attention, and you turn towards the warm fireplace. There you see a curious character, reminiscent of the steampunk novels you recall reading as a child. He peers at you through his brass goggles, and you feel as if he’s staring into your very heart. Gently laying his guitar by his side, he clears his throat. When he sings, his notes are of the purest tone, a deep melody that sends shivers through your body. But the words are what fill you with dread… as he sings of the mission that he could not possibly know of. Of the horrors that you witnessed, and of your lost friends. And as he sings you sit transfixed, unable to move a single muscle. But out of the corner of your eyes you see the other patrons of the bar slowly transform. Strange glowing eyes, tentacles that slither, long sharp teeth and claws. As the Bard sings, these creatures of the night invade your thoughts. They want your mind, your flesh, and their Talisman back. The darkness overwhelms you as you listen to the melody, and know that your beer was the last joy you would ever experience. In ancient streets where shadows loom, Beneath the gaze of blood red moon, Morbius, cursed with vampire's dread, Moon Knight, by Khonshu’s whims led. A dark quest binds their fateful heart, To London's crypts, they both depart. Amidst the stones of times long past, They seek a cure, a peace to cast. A loathsome crew with dark desires, In catacombs, stoke ancient fires. Their twisted hopes to steal the night, But face our heroes unwavering sight. First Morbius, with deadly fangs that gleam, Descends on these friends with a silent scream. His hunger quelled with each foul bite, He purges dark with vampiric might. Then Moon Knight with his silver blade, Cuts through the dark, a light cascade. Each swing a tune of justice sung, His blades dance forth where shadows clung. With the thieving crew laid to demise, Our heroes’ gaze then swiftly rise. As fate and moon now intertwine, In cursed halls, their paths align. With ancient gods as witness stand, They face each other, on fate's command. The blood moon casts a crimson glow, On fated duel ‘midst shadows throw. With every pulse of night’s cold heart, A darker veil on souls impart. Bound by a tale of night's cruel jest, They stand opposed, fate’s rare bequest. In silence held ‘neath crimson shade, The stage is set, their roles well-played. As eerie moonlight casts them stone, They face the night, their fate alone. Thus in the crypts where shadows dance, They leave their waiting deathly stance, As blood and silver cross in flight, Their souls entwined in endless fight.

Macklemore Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 That was a nice little poem, loved it! I think that Morbius would win in a fight against Moon Knight most of the time, but not always.
Pizzaguy2995 Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 A spooky little poem you wrote for us Culwych, which I guess tracks considering we’re getting close to Halloween. Your poem mentioned that they will be fighting during a “blood moon”, for those who don’t know a blood moon is a phenomenon where the moon aligns next to the Earth in just the right way where some sunlight is able to stretch and bounce off the Earth’s surface towards the moon, creating an optical illusion where the moon appears red instead of it’s usual white. The key takeaway here though is that blood moons only happen during FULL moons which means Moon Knight will be at his most powerful! Remember y’all under a full moon Moon Knight will have enhanced strength (2 tons was his established lifting ceiling), durability, speed, and the ability to drain another person’s life energy through physical contact. And on top of already having an advantage in training, tactics, and equipment then I think Moon Knight under a “blood moon” will be able to defeat Mobius.
DSkillz Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Nice horror atmosphere in this one, Culwych! The poem that takes up the latter half of the match was the best part, describing Moon Knight and Morbius in a unique, gothic way. As for the match, I'd have to agree that the blood moon may give Marc the edge in this one. He'd likely still give Morbius a tough fight regardless, but the moon seems to put Moon Knight physically on even footing, if not a little above him.
