Luke Sullivan would be the first to initiate things in the fight. He leaned forward and snapped his right leg out, intending on slamming his foot directly into the Turtle’s plastron protected mid-section but instead he wound up hitting nothing as his opponent quickly side-stepped to his right, and Luke quickly had to plant his foot down as soon as he realized how fast the Turtle happened to be. Quickly, the red masked mutant Terrapin retaliated by swinging his right and left arm back across, performing two reverse slashes as he took aim for Luke’s stomach and chest region. Whipping sounds were made as the blades tore through the air, and Luke forced himself to hop back from the twin swords, widening his eyes as he looked to see two tears forming on his shirt and jacket. Leonardo took this opportunity to rush in towards Luke, only to tense up his legs as he then pushed himself to leap and threw his weight to the left, immediately snapping his left leg back out in a jumping back thrust kick.

“HMMPH!” Luke grunted in discomfort as the Turtle solidly connected his foot into his stomach region. He doubled over, not having expected someone to hit him that hard in only the beginning of this fight.

Leonardo landed feet first onto the floor of the arena, only to turn in a spin and he would swing his left leg up and across to the left, performing a spinning inside out crescent kick. His foot smacked hard across Luke’s face, causing the man’s head to forcibly jerk to the side and continuing with the motion, Leonardo brought his right leg diagonally up to the left, again striking his foot hard into Luke’s face. Leaning forward, the red masked ninja then swung his right arm across with his elbow bent, striking hard across Luke’s face once more before he shifted with a step and then snapped his right leg out in a front kick, slamming his foot into Luke’s chest.

Luke stumbled back from the blows, and he was already feeling the pain which his opponent had inflicted upon him beginning to pile up. For whom he thought was a decent fighter in some rather silly cosplay— the competition was more than capable of delivering some strong blows onto him. Luke shook his head, trying to fight off the brief disorientation but widened his eyes in realization that the Turtle was already moving in on him. Leo rushed in, and he turned in a spin only to now swing both his arms down, slashing both the ninjaken and Haohmaru’s katana down as he took aim for Luke’s head, almost seeming to bisect him in two halves.

But Luke quickly jumped to his right and dropped to curl into a roll on the ground. As he managed to evade Leonardo’s swords, the fighter bolted to his feet. He took aim at Leonardo’s head, and he swung his right and left arm across in two quick hook punches, intending on delivering two jarring strikes onto the Turtle’s head. Leonardo casually leaned back away from the incoming fists, but Luke quickly shifted with a step and pushed himself up to a leap, only to now swing his right arm up as he aimed to blast his fist into Leonardo’s chin.

“RISING UPPERCUT!”

A strong impact landed onto Leonardo’s chin and the Turtle was forced to now fly up into the air and the next thing which he knew was that gravity pulled him down. It wasn’t long before he slammed onto his shell, and the red masked ninja blinked his eyes as he took the moment to register what had happened.

“Yeah! You got this, Luke! Take that slowpoke Turtle out!” Jamie cheered loudly.

Luke grinned as he nodded in appreciation of Jamie’s encouragement. He stepped forth, moving in on Leonardo with the intent to deliver more onto the Turtle. He clenched his hands firmly into fists, ready to now land some strong punches onto his competitor but Leonardo swung his right arm diagonally across to the right, aiming for Luke’s mid-section as he slashed Haohmaru’s katana up. Luke quickly hopped back away from the sword, his jacket receiving another tear on the front. With Leonardo accomplishing what he had intended, in that he needed to keep some space between himself and his opponent, he now could perhaps take the time to turn this fight in his favor.

Fighting through whatever intimidation that he was feeling, Luke pressed on to fight and ignored that the Turtle was armed with the swords. He swung his left leg diagonally up to the right, performing a high roundhouse kick for the mutant Red Ear Slider’s head, but Leonardo hunched down from the incoming kick. He spun the ninjaken within his left hand and gripped the weapon— holding it in reverse. He turned with his weight and thrust the blunt end of the handle outward, intending on firmly striking it firmly into Luke’s face. Luke quickly rose his arms up and crossed them out in front of his face, taking the strike directly in his forearms before he retaliated with a quick combination as he turned with his hips, moving his weight into the motion as he jabbed his right arm across for the Turtle’s face, followed by another jab from his left, and finally a strong straight from his right as he intended to catch Leonardo in his Triple Impact combo. Leonardo felt three strikes landing onto him, his head briefly rang in discomfort and when the final strike landed onto him, he stumbled back from the blow and firmly grit his teeth as he fought the discomfort and slight twinge of embarrassment of being caught like that.

“Like that? I got more just like those!” Luke taunted.

Leonardo quickly thrusted his left arm forward, moving his ninjaken as he aimed the weapon for Luke’s mid-section. The fighter side-stepped to his left, but the red masked mutant reptile turned to follow his opponent and took aim for his neck region only to now slash Haohmaru’s katana in a reversal slash for Luke’s neck. Widening his eyes, Luke was unable to keep up with the Turtle’s speed at this close as for what he believed was his death was close at hand, but Leonardo pulled back— the edge of his blade only firmly pressing against Luke’s neck. But the Turtle spun his ninjaken in his left hand, only to thrust it hard into Luke’s solar plexus.

Again, Luke lurched forward as he clutched his body with his arms— but this left him wide open for attack. The mutant reptile charged in on Luke, leaning forward with his right shoulder out and he slammed directly into the fighter’s body, causing him to lose his footing and stumble back. Again, Leonardo rammed his shoulder into the blonde man’s body, now forcing him to be pinned up against the wall of the arena.

“YEAH, GET HIM LEO!” Raphael shouted.

Leonardo spun both his weapons in hand, gripping the handles to now hold them in reverse. He swiftly pumped his arms forward and out, slamming the blunt ends of the sword handles directly into Luke’s mid-section and chest. The Special Forces fighter grunted with each impact that the Turtle inflicted upon him, and the pressure was only piling on more and more. Leo leaned in as he swung his right arm across with his elbow bent out, firmly striking Luke directly in the middle of his face, stunning the blonde-haired man. He leaned inward, now turning with his weight as he snapped his right leg out in a side kick that was precisely aimed for Luke’s mid-section again.

“NNNGH!” Luke grunted before wheezing.

“LUKE GET OUT OF THERE!” Jamie yelled.

The Turtle relentlessly rammed his left shoulder into Luke, slamming him into the arena wall behind him and hopped back only to then tense up his leg muscles and pushed himself forward into a leap. He curled himself into a ball, throwing his weight forward and down as he performed an aerial somersault and collided his shell directly into the Special Forces fighter. Luke wheezed out again as the pressure finally got too much. He slumped and hit the ground flat onto his chest with a resounding thud as Leonardo rebounded off from him and flipped back onto his feet before taking several steps back away from his opponent.

The screens zoomed in on Luke as he writhed on the ground, the audience cheering for the sight of the punishment which Leonardo had put on him. Leonardo just took this time to collect himself from the heated moment and drew in a breath of air to calm himself as he watched his opponent. Realizing that this was a good time to capitalize on his opponent, Leonardo gripped both his ninjaken and Haohmaru’s katana. He leapt to the air and raised both his arms, prepared to deal in the finishing blow to finish this fight. The Turtle thrust his arms down, driving both swords down for the downed Special Forces fighter.

Luke widened his eyes, and he threw his weight to the left, rolling out of the way of Leonardo’s blades as they firmly struck the ground. Scrambling to his feet, Luke rose to meet the challenge.

The red masked ninja moved his left arm out, driving his ninjaken out for Luke’s chest region once more before he swung his right arm, performing a reverse slash with Haohmaru’s katana. The Special Forces fighter side-stepped to his left, managing to evade the first attack but quickly hopped back away from the second. Leonardo turned in a spin as he stepped forward, moving both arms across to the left and swung both ninjaken and katana for Luke’s neck. The blonde-haired fighter managed to duck down underneath the incoming attack. He focused his own internal energy flow to now move through his entire body and directed it to channel into his right arm and fist. He moved to Leonardo’s left, and then pumped his right arm out in a punch for the Turtle’s plastron protected mid-section. Fire erupted from the man’s fist upon impact, followed by a powerful explosion afterwards. Having successfully landed his Flash Knuckle technique, Luke moved his arms out and took hold of Leonardo by the neck only to pull up and then back as he dropped—landing a hard DDT onto the Turtle as the two dropped onto the arena floor.

Fighting through the pain, Leonardo winced his eyes in discomfort as he threw his weight to the right and planted his knuckles onto the arena floor before pushing himself up to his feet. Now he knew what Luke was completely capable of. He hadn’t expected him to utilize energy in his attacks— especially manipulate it to where he could produce brief explosions to emphasize his attacks. Leonardo knew that at this point… He’d have to be careful.

Luke attuned himself to the energy within himself once more, and he batted his gloved fists together. He directed the energy to course through his body and channeled it through his arms and his hands now ignited with an orange glow. Had Leonardo not known any better, he’d almost say that Luke’s fists were on fire. He watched as the Special Forces fighter quickly now punched his right arm forward and out, unleashing a burst of flame like energy from his fists, and then he punched out with his left— firing off another burst of that energy towards the Turtle.

“SANDBLAST! FATAL SHOT!” Luke shouted.

But Leonardo had grown accustomed to fighting opponents who could fire off energy-based projectiles. He couldn’t help but grin at this situation now, and it even gave him the opportunity to perhaps show off a little bit. The red masked Turtle now spun his blades before firmly grasping them in hand. He stepped forward, now slashing Haohmaru’s katana vertically downward and cleanly cleaved through the first projectile. When the second had come close enough, Leonardo swung his ninjaken in his left across to the right— and it would be the same as before as the energy dissipated from being cut by the Turtle’s steel blade. Luke’s expression dropped but then contorted into frustration as he witnessed what the Turtle had done, and opted to keep the pressure as he focused more on his energy and released another volley of the Sandblast and Fatal Shot projectiles. Leonardo moved Hoahmaru’s katana diagonally down, striking and dissipating the incoming projectile and he arced his ninjaken back in a reversal slash, causing the second projectile to disperse like before.

“Damn it!” Luke whispered, working to keep his focus on his energy still.

He would fire off two more of his Sandblast and Fatal Shot blasts. And Leonardo continued to advance on ahead, still utilizing his swords to do away with the ranged attacks that Luke seemingly opted to try and capitalize on.

“W-What?! How is he doing that?!” Marisa gasped.

Luke focused on even more energy within himself and directed it to course through his entire body and into his arms and hands. He crossed his arms out in front of himself, his arms now smoking with heat which he seemed to be generating from the amount of energy he seemed to be gathering. Quickly, Luke now turned with his hips as he released his arms out in quick succession—unleashing a volley of rapid-fire bursts of energy as he unleashed one of his Super techniques. The Vulcan Blast. And to add more to the attack, Luke punched with his right fist, unleashing a large burst of energy towards the Turtle now.

But Leonardo continued to keep his defense going— slashing his blades horizontally, vertically and diagonally in varying directions, blocking the incoming volley of blasts which Luke attempted to overwhelm him with but to no avail. When the last incoming blast came at him, Leonardo clashed his swords and moved them apart in a scissors motion, cleaving through the energy and like the others before— caused it to dissipate.

Now completely frustrated with the fight, Luke roared as he rushed right in at the red masked Turtle. He burned whatever energy was remaining inside of him, directing it to his arms and fists as they emanated a brief orange glow before they smoked with heat. Luke now had decided to release another Super technique— one which he had called the Eraser. Quickly, he leaned in towards Leonardo and he swung down from his right, intending on striking the Turtle directly in the head and lashed out with the same punch from the same arm two more times. Leonardo weaved from his right to his left, managing to evade the incoming blows rather quickly. Luke aimed to catch the Turtle, before he planted his feet to the arena floor, and unleashed a quick volley of punches for the Turtle’s body before he leaned in and aimed to slam in his left fist for Leonardo’s head. But Leonardo managed to evade by weaving from right to left, still dodging Luke’s strikes quite efficiently. But when that lunging punch came in, Leonardo turned in a spin to his right and moved right behind the Special Forces fighter.

Luke turned to meet the mutant reptile, with eyes widened as he watched as Leonardo leapt in towards him with his right leg raised up, his knee moving in for Luke’s chin while his arms were moving down—and all Luke felt was pain moving up through his chin and directly down from the top of his head as Leonardo slammed both handles of his swords directly onto his head. A brief flash moved through Luke’s vision and suddenly, there was a sharp pain moving through his head. Suddenly, everything went quiet, and darkness claimed his vision.

Leonardo landed feet first onto the arena floor. Luke dropped onto his back.

The countdown began as the screens throughout the arena started off from ten. Leonardo stood his ground as he watched his fallen opponent, waiting for him to get back up. And when the countdown was finished, Leonardo slowly nodded his head before he sheathed both weapons and turned to make his way over to his brothers.

“You started us off strong, Leo. I knew you could do it.” Donatello nodded.

Jamie stepped onto the arena floor only to hunch down and take Luke by the shoulders, dragging him back to a safe spot so that he would be able to recover and maybe awaken from unconsciousness. The Chinese fighter hadn’t expected his friend and rival to lose to these Turtles. He shook his head as he raised his right hand to the back of his head, scratching it as he was quite perplexed at the outcome of the match.

“Well, the meathead blew it! Uh, which one of us is gonna be up to bat?” The Chinese fighter inquired.

“I suppose it will be my turn to compete in the arena!” Marisa replied.

The large and muscular redhaired woman stepped forth as she new surveyed over the four red masked Turtles. She had to admit, if any of the other three were capable of fighting like the one with the swords— then perhaps she would be able to prove herself in the eyes of the audience and perhaps the world as well. She threw her arms up and turned, now staring upon the many in attendance who had come to see another battle in the tournament.

“Ah! I feel like I am back home at the Colissuem! Truly, this will be like the Gladiatorial battles of ancient times! Now, which one of you little Turtles is going to step forth and give me the honor of battle?”

Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael briefly looked at one another.

“Remember the Triceratons?” Donatello smirked.

“I’m trying to forget, Donatello.” Raphael snorted.

Marisa batted her gloved fists together, towering over the three brothers as they seemed to be keeping her waiting.

“Are none of your brave enough to prove your worth and test yourselves against me? I would hate to be disappointed to have come all the way from Italy to find out that I am not going to be fighting!”

The three siblings looked to one another once more, and then over to Leonardo— who in turn, merely narrowed his eyes and shrugged his shoulders before shaking his head as he had already had his turn in battle. Raphael merely blinked his eyes, before he took in a deep breath of air and moved his right arm out— planting his hand down onto Michelangelo’s shell and shoving him forward.

“Go get her, Mikey!” Raphael grinned.

“Oh, you jackoff.” Michelangelo narrowed his eyes at Raphael.

Marisa couldn’t help but give off a hearty and pleased laugh that boomed throughout the arena. Raphael kept that grin on his face as he chuckled, crossing his arms out in front of his plastron and Donatello merely shook his head from side to side and groaned before he slapped the front of his face with his left hand.

“So, you will be my opponent, little Turtle? Show me that you are worthy to fight a modern Gladiator!” The large Italian woman spoke as she set herself into her fighting stance.

Michelangelo blinked as he moved his hands down, grabbing hold of his twin nunchaku within his grasp and drew his weapons out. Quickly, he twirled the tethered clubs upwards and then down— catching the other end of the weapons underneath his arms as he set himself into a ready posture.

“Raphael, you dick…” Michelangelo whispered.

With the arena horn blaring to signal for the match to begin, Marisa quickly leapt with her right fist poised back for a strike as she now plummeted in towards the Turtle. Michelangelo bounced on his feet and twirled his nunchaku with skill and swiftness, only to charge towards the large modern Gladiator woman.

The next match up in my Mirage Turtles storyline has finally been added up. I can say that I might be back to form after all all things considered with the long hiatus I took and I think I might have picked up after the last match up. Also, writing out the recap between Leonardo and Luke was relatively easier than writing out the match up between Leonardo and Karai, as I had to work with Luke's moveset into the recap and they were relatively easier to work with in terms of describing the attacks and how they fundamentally worked. Also, I thought that the votes would be closer but I was pleased to see that Leo took the win against a Street Fighter character.

As for this match up, well... I wanted to put Michelangelo up next, and while Jamie seemed to be the obvious choice-- I opted someone who was more of a powerhouse and decided Marisa would be an interesting match for him. After all, I thought it would be a nice contrast between the two and in this case it would be a David vs Goliath kind of match up, though in this case... the Goliath is an Italian modern Gladiator woman. So... hopefully this will be an interesting match.

Remember-- ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO A FACTOR IN THIS BATTLE! Something I feel like people need to seriously consider.

For new readers who are just hopping onto this storyline here, I suggest you look at the Mirage TMNT Respect Thread to see what the Mirage Turtles are more than capable of.

Michelangelo is Low Tier Superhuman in terms of physicals. Think Above Peak Human due to his mutation and training.

Michelangelo possesses his Twin Nunchaku, Shurikens, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai.

Marisa Rossetti is at Peak Conditioning due to her training.

Marisa Rossetti has her move set from Street Fighter VI.

Probably Mikey. Again haven’t had a chance to play SF6 but Marisa hasn’t impressed me from the trailers I’ve seen.

Fair enough of an assessment there.

I'm surprised, I'd thought more CBUBers would've played SF6 considering how popular it is.

Should still be the turtles. Marisa is good and all, but she's not superhumanly strong and I don't know how well she'd do with grappling a gigantic turtle.

I wouldn't exactly say that the Mirage Turtles are "Gigantic" like their Bayverse counterparts. When they were fifteen, they stood at a height of 4"5 tall. But as they got older, they got bumped up to maybe 5"4 or 5"6. At least... that's how other artists drew them. Marisa is about 6"8 in height if we compare her to Michelangelo.

But thank you for your input!

I meant gigantic in the sense they are bigger when compared to normal turtles.

Another great set-up, Rakai. The recap went about as well for Luke as I expected. :D I had a feeling Leo would be a little much for him.

She pretty much is, though, and is probably one of the strongest SF characters to come along in a while. That pet lion of hers is bigger than a stallion, and likely much stronger than a normal lion:

As for the match, Marisa's also one of the hardest strikers to come along in SF for some time and has her share of endurance to boot. There's a good chance she'll make Michelangelo work, but I think Mikey could pull this out. I think he's gonna be hurting for a bit after this, though.

Yeah, writing out Leonardo vs Luke was relatively easier than writing out Leonardo vs Karai. But it's definitely good to know and see a TMNT character defeat a Street Fighter character, especially with how high SF characters are in regards to popularity and even skill and power. But then again, in the OFFICIAL TMNT vs Street Fighter crossover, IDW Leo beat Ryu pretty quickly. So Mirage Leo should be able to take Luke.

And yeah, Marisa is pretty a physical power house, which is why I wanted to put Michelangelo against her. And considering the fact he has fought some SNK characters in this arc who are power houses in their own right, hopefully he can give Marisa a fight.

As always, thanks for commenting.

Man, @broadwaybeyonder, you are low-key one of the tougher match graders here. I don't think I've ever seen you give out higher than 4.5. :D

Also, from what I've seen of Marisa in cutscenes, she might actually be pleased someone was tough enough to beat her.
