Twogunkid Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Kobolds' cowardly and trap setting nature pays off here. They are more likely to flee the Yajunta than Zombies.
Peypeypeypey Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 The Predators would be more likely to have a good time hunting Kobolds. They would make interesting prey. Assuming there are a few with spellcasting abilities, 150 of them could definitely take down a predator, with some losses. The zombies would only win if they were able to swarm the predator, but even a regularly human is able to quickly figure things out about zombies from World War Z, so a predator should be able to as well. In fact, the zombies looks for healthy human hosts. The Predator may not even be "visible" to them.
Macklemore Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 This already been a well tested concept with Predators, but prey that doesn't try to outsmart Predators is no doubt one that loses no matter what. Even in the original Predator, the men that tried to fight it head one were killed off easily. The one that survived? The only who played his cards right and laid in wait. Kobolds will do that. Zombies will 100% not do that.
Vincento Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Even though kobolds are cowardly and afraid of pain, they will still put aside their own wellbeing for the sake of their clan. In their DND page entry, I believe there's an example where a kobold would set a trap to close off adventures from the rest of their tribe, even if it means they get trapped with those same adventurers. So they will do noble acts while pissing and shitting themselves with fear. And that's why kobolds are AWESOME. Zombies are STUPID and SMELL and CAN'T BUILD TRAPS

Remember the Predator only hunt beings that can defend themselves otherwise there’s no sport in it. If the zombies can’t “see” the Predators and therefore refuse to attack them or even run away from them then wouldn’t the Predators honor compel them to leave the zombies alone? Especially when they see the zombies don’t have any weapons? The kobolds meanwhile very clearly have weapons and upon spotting the Predators will likely attack them out of fear or try to run away. Either option could trigger the Yautja’s hunting instincts and lead them to focus their efforts on hunting the Kobold specifically. The zombies might just win this because the Yautja would find them too boring to hunt.
