The Gadgetmobile is prone to comically failing at its task, but a motivated Herbie takes all comers and is a master race car to begin with.

Herbie should have this. He has more experience racing than GadgetMobile (Trans-Frans Race, Brazil Grand Premio, Monte Carlo, and I think the Daytona 500 in Fully Loaded?), and he has a stronger bond with his driver than the Gadgetmobile who constantly bickers with this driver.

Both cars are going to get knocked around a bit, but Herbie is just more competent overall and experienced in racing.
