Hunter vs. Hunted: PREP TIME

Posted

Grodd's telepathy and heightened senses give him an advantage here, but throw in his home turf of Gorilla City and this is leaning quite heavily in his favour I reckon.

Unless Ghost can somehow prep against telepathy, he may be in for a tough time here.

A Young Blooded Yautja with a month of prep time? As always, I am going to go against the grain here but I'm going with Ghost Predator here because a Yautja, even a Young Blood with a month of prep time is not something to shrug off and laugh at-- as much as some people want to keep on seeing the Predators job only because they've only seen the movies. I mean even without prep time, the Yautja leave behind piles of bodies until they either finish the hunt or they're killed.

But a month of prep time to observe the prey and get a feel for the lay of the land? Then that would mean that the Yautja in question here has been observing someone like Grodd for four weeks, or thirty one days. That's PLENTY of enough time to know the intended prey's weaknesses and strengths, maybe even so much as how to even cope with something like Grodd's mental capabilities. The Yautja are not at all above learning to become better hunters, or even so much as upgrading their weaponry and armor and sometimes-- even picking up skills from their prey. This is something that's even seen in the expanded universe material, be it from Dark Horse or Marvel.

Hell, if Ghost Predator has prep time, there's no reason that he couldn't be able to so much as get some of the nastier upgraded weapons like these.

Also... there's one interesting tid bid in regards to the Smart Disc in regards to the weapons mentioned in the "Disc Master" description in that the weapon is controlled by mental guidance systems. This suggests that the Yautja have technology which can be interfaced and operated by thought and guidance. If the Yautja have technology which has offensive capabilities which are operated by mental control from an individual Yautja, who is to say that they aren't capable of creating something like mental dampeners for something like Grodd?

They also have a weapon such as the Sonic Traps... Which according to the description in this video operate by releasing a burst of multi-spectrum light and sub-sonic soundwaves which are designed to disrupt the nervous system without causing permanent damage. I would think that if the Ghost Predator lays a trap and lures Grodd in, and his nervous system is disrupted... that should be giving him enough time to land in a killing blow.

Grodd should have this pretty easily. Gorilla City is heavily fortified, and all he needs to do is see the predator once to defeat it really. He tanks hits from the Flashes, Wonder Woman, his telepathy has been stated to be on par with Martian Manhunter in some circumstances. The predator honestly stands no chance
