Really? How come? I thought this was a sure thing for Beetlejuice (although haven't watched the film for ages). 

The ghosts terrified Ebenezer, I'd have thought a shapechanging ghost with magic powers would scare him to death even if Beetlejuice didn't just shrink him down and squash him.

Betelgeuse/Beetlejuice has killed before while haunting the Deetzes and their guests. He has the tools to get this done.

Unless Scrooge gets some serious help from the workshop's inhabitants, he could be in trouble.

Scrooge is a businessman and a successful one at that. Beetlejuice has been hoodwinked on deals before. Scrooge can certainly worm his way out through his business acumen.

Going into this I thought Scrooge was screwed, but that is a good argument. I’ll have to think on this more.
