Match 20452 Jack Darby vs. Alonzo Harris

Megastory 27.3

 

Previously: Chip Chase crated a program that could decode Decepticon communications. Major Lennox and Agent Fowler went to pick him up and saved him from Laserbeak whom Lennox stayed behind to hold off. Chip was taken to Autobot City to join with other humans working with the Autobots. He uncovered a sabature attempting to put a virus into the Autobot’s computer system and engaged her in cyber battle.

 

 

The military police escorted Mai Linh away.

Agent Fowler stood proudly with Chip Chase.

“You did great work, son.”

“I hope I got all of her virus out.” said Chip nervously. “It was pretty deeply embedded. Probably wasn’t detected because it hadn’t been activated yet.”

“The rest of the team will be on the lookout for it.” Fowler assured him.

Chip continued to look nervous.

“I hope this softens the blow but before you guys came I shared my code breaker with some friends.”

Fowler chuckled. “We already know. Got people in the field checking up on them.”

“I can get them an alert.” Chip volunteered.

 

 

One of the innovations not thought of for use on earth was the pretender shells. With them, Cybertronians could take on human form and operate where even their alternate modes couldn’t get them.

 

Raphael Esquivel knew that this was big as soon as he saw the code breaker. He had never met Chip before. Never even talked to him via voice so he had no idea what he even sounded like.

Raphael wondered if Chase knew that he was just a kid.

He was aware that he was being watched through his web cam. But he pretended to be ignorant of it and acted like a dumb kid. When someone knocked at the front door he knew that his time was up.

“Hey Raf.” The voice came from his room.

Raf looked around startled. He stared at his desktop as it’s the only thing with speakers.

“Yeah, you guessed it right.” the voice spoke again. Indeed it was coming through the computer’s speakers.

“It’s me, Chip. How’s it going?”

“Fine I guess.” Raf said timidly.

“Sorry I had to hack your equipment but this is an emergency. That code breaker I sent you is bad news for some bad people. Well alien robots actually.”

“Okay.”

“I’m with the good guys now. They’re sending some people to protect you and your family.”

“That must be them at the door.” Raf guessed.

The lack of response made him nervous. The hack that Chip used was so strong on his side the Rafael could hear the background chatter.

“They got their quick.” he heard Chip say.

“They aren’t there, yet.” Whoever it was Chip was talking too said. The other guy too the microphone.”

“Raphael, get out of there. That ain’t our people at your door.”

Confirming what the man was saying. Raphael heard outcrys from his family. Evidently, the people with Chip heard it too.

“It’s you they’re after. Our people will be there to help your family is just a minute.”

“What about my computer?”

Chip answered. “I’m putting an encryption code on it. They’ll need you to break it. Don’t get caught.”

Living in Raphael’s neighborhood was Jack Darby. He got off early from K. O. Burgers and was heading home to chill. The disturbance at Raphael’s house got his attention. He had seen the family around. Didn’t hang with any of them but he knew that there were a lot of them.

Whatever was going on, there was no police intervention. Somebody needed to do something. As if he had stealth training, Jack went to Raphael’s house.

He saw Raphael climbing out of a window and quietly called out, “What are you doing?”

Raphael was startled. They had never actually talked but Jack could see a sense of relief in the kid’s recognition of him.

“I have to get out of here!” Raf said urgently.

“What’s going on?” Jack looked around.

“They’re after me!”

“Who’s after you? What did you do?”

“It’s not what I did, it what I have!”

There was something innocent about the kid. Because of their age difference Jack never bothered to talk to him, but Raphael didn’t carry that bad body vibe. Not even malicious hacker type. He seemed to be in trouble not of his doing and the hero in Jack took control.

“Come on.”

Contrary to Jack’s assumption, there was a police presence at Raphael’s house. Alonzo Harris liked the money he was getting. He liked the protection he got from his bosses. He liked this clandestine work.

The man that hired him only called upon him for side jobs. Alonzo fit the bill for someone with some police skills. He wasn’t in deep enough to know what they wanted this Esquivel kid for but his assignment was simply to get him.

They guys that Harris was working with were making a mess of everything, intimidating the family. They most likely scared the target off. A peek outside the window while the others were dealing with the family rewarded him with spotting the target along with a teenage guy who seemed to be helping him get away.

A little back up would have been nice, but Harris didn’t trust these guys not to shoot the kid in the back. His employer obviously wanted Esquivel alive and unhurt. Casually he slipped out the front door and began his pursue.

 

Fight Parameters:

 

Jack has to help Raphael get away from Alonzo Harris. They have to evade the dirty cop for an hour at which point help arrives.

Good set-up and CBUB Match debut for Jack Darby, leroy. I can see someone's watched Transformers: Prime.  

You know what? Jack may have a decent chance of helping Raph slip away. In-show, Jack was clever enough to outsmart Decepticons and Special Ops soldiers on occasion, and Raph wasn't shabby in that sense, either. Alonzo is pretty tricky himself, though.

Thank you. For the longest time. I was looking for somebody for Jack to be running from. I'm like before I even put him in the database. All the cops I know were good cops and It didn't sit well with me to have them be bad guys for the sake of the Megastory. Then I thought of Denzel and was like yes! He would work for whoever this is that after Raphael.

Then I thought of

Never saw Transformers: Prime or Training Day sadly. From my limited knowledge I am leaning towards the kid because frankly if he can survive in a world where giant space robots throw down in front of him all the time, I think he can survive 1 dirty cop after him.
