“H-hello? Are we…. back on?… Can they hear me? Okay well we are back online the air and rolling good people! The Young Fighters Tournament is still going strong! So sorry that we cut out like that, apparently one of our IT guys got lazy on the job, I’ll deal with him latter. But for now let’s see what happened last match. Oh yes the winner was Momo Yaoyorozu, also known as the Everything Hero: Creati. Through clever tactics and firepower she has overcome the dragon-themed hero Ryuko in a close match. A great showing from both young women!”

 

“You fought very well today, you should be proud of your performance,” Momo Yaoyorozu complimented her downed opponent.

 

“I was nothing compared to you Yaoyorozu-sama. I apologize I couldn’t match give you a better match,” Kagami Tsurugi spoke with much remorse as medics arrived to put her on a stretcher.

 

“You gave me an amazing match Ryuko. Be proud of yourself and keep getting stronger,” Yaoyorozu encouraged her as the medics carried the dragon themed heroine out of the arena.

 

“Yeah! You did it Yaoyorozu! You really did it!” Ochaco Uraraka gleefully cheered from the sidelines.

 

“Oh course she did! I told you our girl wouldn’t lose!” Mina Ashido shouted, pumping her fists in the air.

 

“Ribbit! Ribbit! Great job Yaoyorozu!” Tsuyu Asui added to the group celebration.

 

“Well done to UA High for finally winning a matchup. 1-2 is always better than 0-2. But we got some more exciting matches coming up soon so let’s get right back to the action and meet our next two combatants!”

 

(The camera briefly shows the cheering audience before moving to the east side of the stadium where the first fighter enters)

 

“OUR FIRST COMPETITOR IS A FORMER TEENAGE PRINCESS OF THE KINGDOM OF MEWNI! SHE’S ENERGETIC, DETERMINED, KIND, AND AN ABSOLUTE MENACE TO THOSE WHO’D HARM HER FRIENDS! SHE’S SAVED BOTH HER KINGDOM AND EARTH FROM MANY MONSTERS, EVIL ROYALS AND JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE PEOPLE! SHE AIN’T FROM ROUND HERE, SHE’S FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION! IT’S STAR BUTTERFLY!!!!!”

 

“Hi everyone! Nice to be here! Thanks for the invite! I looooooove this!” Star Butterfly enthusiastly waved and pumped up the excited crowd.

 

“So wait you have all your magic back now Star? Like all of it?” Marco Diaz asked his girlfriend in near disbelief.

 

“That’s right! They told me that whilst I was in the tournament I’d be able to use all my former magic! Narwhal Blast!” At Star’s command her new wand shot out a stream of Narwhals. “See? It works! I am back baby!”

 

“But how- What the- That doesn’t even-… S-Star how can any of this be possible!?” A now freaking out Marco demanded. “What about the whispering spell? And the whole destroying magic across the universe? How the heck can this place just recon all of that like it never-“

 

“Marco, Marco, my guy! Just breathe alright? Take a chill pill before you hurt yourself,” Star patted Marco’s shoulder in an attempt to calm him down. “Look does it honestly matter how this place works? My magic is back, I get to get some butt again, and we get to make new friends from different dimensions again. Let’s just take this as a win and try not to overthink it alright?”

 

“But I… Oh alright fine, go the flow and all that junk. All your magic just got snapped back into existence, nothing suspicious about that,” Marco Diaz groaned in frustration. “Look just do your best out there and try not to get too hurt alright? I got some dinner plans for us tonight.”

 

“Daaaawww, you really are the boyfriend that ever existed!” Star gushed and kissed his cheek sweetly. “But don’t worry about me bae, I got this!”

 

“OUR SECOND COMPETITOR IS A YOUNG WITCH FROM THE INFAMOUS BOILING ISLES! ORIGINALLY FROM EARTH AND TAUGHT BY THE CRIMINAL TURNED FREEDOM FIGHTER OWL LADY, THIS LITTLE WITCH IS NO STRANGER TO DANGER FOLKS! WITH NOTHING BUT HER WITS, SOME MAGIC SPELLS, AND AN ECCENTRIC, YET UPBEAT, ATTITUDE SHE BROUGHT AN AUTHORITARIAN REGIME RUN BY A GENOCIDAL MADMAN TURNED ELDRITCH HORROR! LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE GOOD WITCH LUZ NOCEDA!!!!!”

 

“Wow I had no idea I was so popular across different dimensions! On that subject I didn’t even know there was other dimensions aside from the Human and Demon Realm,” Luz Noceda shyly took in all the cheers and fanfare from the audience.

 

“Well of course there’s more than one dimension kiddo, how else do you explain that one Thai girl who got trapped in that Frog dimension?” Eda joked knowingly. “More to the point though, are you sure you’re ready for this? It’s been awhile since you had to use your magic for combat.”

 

“Don’t worry Eda, Amity helped me train all day yesterday in preparation for this, so I’m ready as I’ll ever be,” Luz assured her teacher with a more confident tone.

 

“That’s the spirit Luz!” An overexcited King jumped upon Luz’s shoulder. “Crush that WALKING ONE-DIMENSIONAL BLEACHED BLONDE VALLEY GIRL STEREOTYPE beneath your heals and paint the stadium in her blood and guts like a Rated R Jackson Pollock painting!”

 

“Woah King! That’s a little much there pal. Let’s tone it down to a PG rating okay?” Luz gently told the little Titan.

 

“Why not? What’s the point of signing wavers if we’re not gonna see a little blood?” King crossed his arms in a pout.

 

“BOTH COMBATANTS STEP INTO THE RING! IT’S TIME TO GET IT ON!!!!”

 

“Well that’s my que! Wish me luck!” Luz Noceda waved to her teacher and surrogate brother figure and marched into the ring.

 

“Hmmm, what the-?” Feeling a familiar sensation, Luz looked down and noticed a familiar looking symbol start to etch itself across her chest. “King’s Father’s symbol? Well that’s a whole lot of questions that I’ll have to ask about latter.”

 

(The camera showed both girls walk into the arena, Luz a little nervous and uncertain while Star practically buzzed in excitement).

 

“Hi there new friend! I’m Star Butterfly! Nice to meet ya!” The former Mewni princess cheerfully waved.

 

“Oh, uh, hi there. Yeah the, uh, announcer guy kinda already told me your name. I’m Luz Noceda by the way. And you probably already heard my name too, so I don’t know why I just said that,” Luz awkwardly stumbled through introductions.

 

“OMG you are so adorable! Wanna trade magic spells and contact numbers after the match? I’ve always wanted to visit the Boiling Isles! It sounds like a great place to visit!” Star excitedly asked.

 

“Uh sure I’d like that. Um are you usually this friendly with people you’re about to fight?” Luz shyly asked.

 

“Sure am! In fact some of my best friends have tried to kill me several times in the past,” Star innocently explained.

 

“Wow you two? You know I’m getting the impression we have a lot in common,” Luz surmised.

Alrighty then for the sake of a good fight let’s just assume that both Star and Luz have all the magical powers and abilities that they’ve displayed across all episodes of their respective shows, including Star’s butterfly form and Luz’s Titan magic she got from King’s Father. I get that’s not canon for either character but let’s just pretend alright? Who wins?

Hey here’s some clips of both Star and Luz just in case anyone needs some refresher on each girl’s abilities:

Good set-up, Pizza Guy. Never watched Star vs. the Force of Evil or The Owl House, but from glancing the profiles of characters from both shows, you seem to have them in-character. 

As for the match, from a glance (again), Star looks to be more powerful with her magic, more combat-ready, and of an athlete, so I might be inclined to give her the edge. 

Man, we need more of a younger crowd to join CBUB so more of the community can be familiar with these characters. 😅
