Previously: A team up with a Stargate team brought Clone Force 99 to Earth. Unsure of where their home was or how to get there the Bad Batch agreed to work for General Hammond of Stargate Command.

They went to Octopon to purge the island nation of demons after itโ€™s cataclysmic disaster. The extermination of many Moogers lead up to a battle with Master Xandred.

ย

ย

โ€œI donโ€™t know how we did that but I donโ€™t think I can do it again.โ€ Wrecker breathed.

โ€œIโ€™m the one that came up with the idea and I still donโ€™t know what happened.โ€ said Tech.

โ€œWhatever the case,โ€ Said Hunter. โ€œMission accomplished. Thatโ€™s what weโ€™re all about.โ€

โ€œBut why didnโ€™t they do the air strike?โ€ asked Crosshairs. โ€œIt would have been so much more effective than that death battle we had back there.โ€

โ€œWeโ€™ll talk to General Hammond about it.โ€

โ€œIf this is what theyโ€™re going to pit us up against, I donโ€™t think I want to go back.โ€ Echo proclaimed.

โ€œIโ€™d be inclined to agree with him.โ€ said Tech. โ€œOur intel was insufficient, support was nonexistent.โ€

โ€œThey threw us to the dogs.โ€ Wrecker complained.

โ€œWeโ€™ll talk to him.โ€ Hunter promised.

Although an air strike was denied, an extraction chopper did come in after a while.

Once back at Stargate Command, Clone Force 99 waited together for debriefing.

General Hammond came in after about twenty minutes.

โ€œGood work gentlemen. And lady.โ€ he looked at Omega.

โ€œGeneral,โ€ Hunter cut in right away. โ€œI donโ€™t like the way you dispatched us. We might not be from around here but I not going to let my team be your expendable resources for projects you wouldn't send your best people to do.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t know how things are where youโ€™re from but around here, these sort of missions are rather common. There tend to be be specialists that deal with this but everyone seems to get a turn.โ€

Hunter responded for the group as usual. โ€œYouโ€™ve been good to us General. But we get thrown to the wolves again and we wonโ€™t come back.โ€

โ€œWarning noted,โ€ Hammond said somberly.

โ€œAny updates on getting us home?โ€ Tech asked.

โ€œWeโ€™re still not sure where you came from. The civilization you describe has not been encountered by any of our SG teams.โ€

โ€œI hear another proposition in your voice, sir.โ€ Crosshairs eyed him.

โ€œAs a matter of fact there is another proposition.โ€ He opened the door and allowed a new individual to come in.

โ€œThis is a colleague of mine- Mr. Whitmore. Heโ€™s been having some trouble with a terrorist organization going by the name The Masters of Evil. He could use some good soldiers to help tackle these guys.โ€

A few glances and shrugs. โ€œWeโ€™ve got nothing better to do.โ€

Mr. Whitmore smiled. โ€œThank you for you service. โ€œThis is Baron Zemo. The leader of the Masters of Evil. Heโ€™s been on a heavy recruitment campaign and I want to head him off as much as I can. I know that one of his prospects is in Australia. Group of cyborgs called the Reavers. I donโ€™t want them joining him.โ€

As far as terrible negotiators go, Bryan Fury was the worst. But the Reavers had already made a positive response to his proposition on the dark web. The only think he needed the cyborg to do was tell them the requirements of being in the Masters of Evil and what he wanted them to do.

If he had known the nature of their interest, Zemo would have sent someone more qualified to negotiate with them.

โ€œI donโ€™t know.โ€ Macon leaned back in his chair. โ€œBaron Zemo means Avengers.โ€

โ€œAw, you scared of Captain America?โ€ Bryan Furyโ€™s fake sympathy made things even worse than they were.โ€

โ€œWhat I want to know is do you have a plan for the X-Men?โ€ Reese asked.

โ€œAll I know is weโ€™re gonna kick ass and take names!โ€ Bryan Fury said it so loud that it inspired repulsion rather than confidence.

โ€œWhat would he have us to do?โ€

โ€œOrders are forthcoming.โ€

ย

โ€œThis Fury guy is awful.โ€ Echo complained over their radio frequency.

โ€œBut the negotiations are moving forward.โ€ Tech pointed out.

โ€œThey are not saying anything informative.โ€ Crosshairs added. โ€œI have my first target in site.โ€

Hunter made the call. โ€œThis is what Mr. Whitmore is looking to stop. Letโ€™s take โ€˜em out.โ€

Oh I thought this was going to be against Firefly Reavers... Who are curiously not in the database.

The Batch might lose this one.

Yeah I noticed that. Funny all the stuff in here and then all the stuff not in here.

Lady Deathstrike could blitz half the clones by herself. The rest get moped up by the other Reavers.

There are a lot more groups in the database then I had realized, some interesting opportunities there.ย  For this fight, I am going with the superior firepower of the Reavers.
