As unrest grew around the Empire fueled by the rise of the Revolutionary Army and the power-hungry Prime Minister’s own savagery and contempt for the people, a new threat arrived on the outskirts. An interdimensional rift formed.  A pulsating void that defied the laws of time and space, it appeared with an ominous energy. Out stepped a malevolent presence adorned in blue armor and flanked by the Demons of the Rift. It was Exdeath, sent through the Rift after a confrontation with the Warriors of Light. Although he now found himself in an unfamiliar world, Exdeath’s  goal remained the same. Reduce everything to nothingness.

“Only the Void can rule this world!” He proclaimed.

Without hesitation, Exdeath led his army of demons to attack every settlement in sight.

In the grand throne room of the Empire, the young and naive Emperor Makoto sat uneasily on his throne. His face was pale with worry. Reports of widespread destruction had reached his ears. He called for his most trusted advisor.

"Prime Minister Honest, what is happening? Who is this mysterious figure that I am hearing about and why is he causing such devastation?" he asked

Honest stepped forward and bowed respectfully. "Your Majesty, the invader calls himself Exdeath. His allegiances are unclear. He has seemingly emerged from out of thin air.  Rest assured, we will take every measure to protect our people and our land."

The Emperor's eyes were filled with concern. "We must do everything we can to stop him. The people... they are suffering. We must save them and ensure the preservation of the Empire."

Honest placed a comforting hand on the Emperor's shoulder. "Of course, Your Majesty. Their safety is our top priority. I will see to it personally."

Honest’s words gave the Emperor a false sense of contentment. The Prime Minister then returned to his work trying to draw out the Revolutionary Army into a conflict to crush them with little regard to the threat of Exdeath.

Outside his private chamber, Honest was approached by the towering general of the Imperial Guard, Budo.

“I have received word that the small unit we sent out to deal with this new threat has been almost completely decimated. Many innocent lives are in danger,” Budo stated.

Honest responded with a look of annoyance on his face. “Do you believe this strange interloper poses a risk to the Capital itself?”

“If he is not stopped here and now,” responded Budo. “Then yes.”

Honest did not immediately reply.

“I wish to suggest to the Emperor that we send a much stronger contingent out there to deal with this threat once and for all. I know he will ask you for your advice on such a strategy.  When we do this, not only would it save lives, but it would also be a show of strength to all those who are thinking about attacking the Empire. The rebels would get a good understanding of what they are up against in defying the Emperor’s rule,” Budo reasoned.

Honest acquiesced. “Very well. I will send Esdeath and her Jaegers to snuff out this problem. It should satiate her bloodlust until the Revolutionary army resurfaces.”

“I shall remain vigilant in my protection of the castle should they fail,” replied Budo.

The Prime Minister summoned Esdeath to the throne room to give her this new direction. Esdeath soon arrived with anticipation in her eyes.

“Esdeath, you are to take your Jaegers and eliminate this new demonic threat to the Empire. Destroy all in your path and show no mercy.”

A cold smile spread across Esdeath’s face. “Consider it done.”

The formidable general and the Jaegers squad moved swiftly to the outskirts of the capital, where Exdeath and his Demons of the Rift were currently wreaking havoc. The scene was one of pure extreme brutality, with imperial forces being obliterated by the otherworldly creatures.

Esdeath and her team immediately sprang into action. Wave, with his Grand Chariot, lunged at a towering demon, Wendigo, slashing through its hide with a mighty blow. Kurome, wielding her Yatsufusa, summoned her undead puppets to engage the demon, Necrophobe and his four barrier protected monsters. Bols unleashed his flamethrower, engulfing demons in torrents of fire that was stopped when the demon, Calofisteri, used her Drain ability to suck a significant chunk of life force out Bols. Seryu's large dog Teigu, Koro, tore through the ranks with savage efficiency until it reached the large black brain looking cycloptic demon, Catastrophe, who knocked back Koro and Seryu with his tectonic powered Earth Shaker attack and then attempted to petrify Koro with the Evil Eye.

Esdeath moved quickly through the chaotic battle with her eyes locked onto her main target, the warlock created from a large conglomeration of evil spirits sealed into an ancient tree, Exdeath. She walked with a supernatural grace upon a path of ice she had created underneath her feet. Exdeath took note of her as she came near.

“Show bravado while you still can,” he taunted.

“I’m just hoping for a worthy battle,” Esdeath replied. “I want an exciting challenge before you wind up under my boot, outsider.”

“Your hopes and wants are destined to be swallowed up by the Void.” A dark portal appeared next to Exdeath and he reached through it to pull out his sword. “Witness it’s all encompassing power and know true fear.”

Esdeath was unmoved by this threat as she readied her rapier. “Giving yourself to fear guarantees an early grave. The weak will always perish while the strong survive there is no point in fretting over that truth.”

The two powerhouses charged at one another.

I unfortunately know nothing about either character. I read up about both of them as much as I could but I'm going to refrain from voting as it would just be guessing. Esdeath sounds pretty badass though. I will rate your set up though as I took the time to read it and appreciate the set up.

Nice to see Esdeath in an official match. I have no idea who Exdeath is. But I'm sure Esdeath will here win. Alos, giving the match a 5.0.

Voting Esdeath even though I know next to nothing about any Final Fantasy game that isn’t 7 or 10.

I wanted to put up some helpful videos, Pizza Guy style, but unfortunately, I couldn't find good videos to contrast from. The Death Battle video that Esdeath is in I think does a good job of breaking down her character, but there is nothing like that I could find for Exdeath. All I could find was a charming recap of Final Fantasy V and his preview trailer for the Dissidia fighting game, neither of which do a great job explaining how powerful the interdimensional warlock is. I also thought of listing out all his magical attacks from the VSwiki, but I don't know if that would be much help either. Anyways, always appreciate the comments.

Hmm... it looks like Exdeath could do it. He could hold her down with a black hole then blast her with AOE spells until she's down. It would come down to how fast she can unleash her ice attacks. The thing is that Esdeath can do that over a vast area.
