Match 20795 Regina vs. Turok the Dinosaur Hunter

Inside a dimly lit pub, the red-haired Regina leaned back in her chair adorned in her blue and black tactical suit, swirling a glass of whiskey in her hand. She was surrounded by a few members of the Secret Operation Raid Team (SORT). Their laughter and conversation filled the room. They had just returned from another successful mission of taking down dinosaurs in an isolated jungle outpost. It was far from their first encounter with prehistoric beasts, and by now, they had grown somewhat accustomed to the chaos that came with the job.

"So there we were," Regina said with a smirk. “Stuck in a prehistoric swamp with nothing but a few rounds and a prayer. But we made it out.. again." 

One of her comrades chuckled. “I would say it was more than a prayer. I didn’t think I would ever see anyone turn taking down dinosaurs into an art form, like you have Regina.”

He raised a glass and offered a toast to surviving again against impossible odds. When Regina brought her glass to her lips, the door to the pub suddenly burst open. A wave of black robots with piercing red eyes and energy blades on their wrists swarmed the pub. 

“Regina, get down!” one of her teammates shouted.

From behind them a wall of flame erupted and just before Regina lost consciousness she swore she saw a man completely made of fire.

When she finally regained consciousness, Regina found herself in a cold, metallic room with no windows or doors in sight. Regina’s head throbbed as she tried to find her bearings.

An emotionless female voice echoed through the room. “Good to see you awake, Regina.”

Regina sat up. She scanned the room for the source of the voice. 

“Where am I?” she demanded.

“You are in an Ultratech research facility,” the voice replied. “I am ARIA, the most advanced artificial intelligence ever created. I trust you are feeling well?”

Regina ignored the question. “Were you the one responsible for the attack on me and my team?”

ARIA’s voice remained unchanged. “I apologize for the methods, but I have  no time for a proper recruitment of you or your team. I needed the best, and you, Regina, are the best when it comes to combating dinosaurs.”

Regina’s eyes narrowed. “Dinosaurs?”

“Yes,” ARIA responded. “A brief history may be in order for your understanding. My programming requires that I have a vested interest in the evolution of humanity. Over the years, I have developed various weapons and creatures to accelerate this process. This has included the creation of Riptor, a hybrid of human and raptor. However, Riptor has reached the end of her usefulness.: ARIA continued, “I have discovered another creature, a true monster that maximizes the threat that a dinosaur can possess, one that will push humanity to its limits. But before I unleash it upon the world, I need to test its capabilities against the best dinosaur hunter I can find.”

“And that’s why you kidnapped me?”

“Correct,” ARIA confirmed. “However, you are not the only one. I scoured dimensions to make sure there was not anything I was missing to make this monster as formidable as it can be and I found another one who has a history as steeped in the blood of dinosaurs as your own. A hunter named Turok. Every statistical analysis I put the two of you through proved to be inconclusive in delivering the intended results of who would serve as a better challenger for my new creation.”

“You want me to face this hunter?” Regina assumed.

“Yes, however it will not be direct combat unless one of you desires to make it so. The challenge is simple: eliminate as many dinosaurs as possible in a controlled environment. The winner will face my creation,” explained ARIA.

“What if I refuse to play your game?” Regina asked.

“You are free to do so,” ARIA replied. “But if you ever wish to see your comrades again, you will participate.”

A panel slid open near Regina, revealing her equipment and all her trusted weapons from previous missions. The Anti-Tank Rifle., the Shotgun, the Grenade Launcher, as well as her standard issue handgun and a combat knife were all there. Regina sighed, feeling as if she had no other choice. She grabbed her gear.

“Fine. Let’s get this over with.”

Several moments later, she was transported and dropped off in a vast, dense jungle. The air was thick with humidity and the distant roars of dinosaurs. Regina scanned her surroundings, wondering about this mysterious opponent named Turok. Elsewhere in the jungle, Turok was dropped silently into a clearing. He was tall and powerfully built with long dark hair. He wore a sleeveless vest and pants made from leather and the hide of a prehistoric creature. Strapped across his back was the Tek Bow and at his side was the Fusion Cannon and a knife. His expression was similar to Regina’s, frustrated at being put into this situation but determined to win. The game had officially begun.

Man everybody is using characters I've been trying to figure out how to use. That makes me happy. 

Regina is the one I want to use, but I think Turok will win this.

I had also been trying to think of a way to get her a match since the hype for a new Marvel vs. Capcom started.
