Megastory 12.11

 

Previously: In response the Cabal’s endeavor to resurrect the Dragon Emperor, a team consisting of Rambo, Prince Phillip, Rick O'Connell, Pai Chan, Madmartagin, Mulan and the hoarse- Maximus- was sent to thwart the plan. They failed and Han has been an increasing threat ever since.

 

 

 

“Our mission continues.” Rambo declared in his report. “Monitoring the rise of the Dragon Emperor is frustrating. We couldn’t stop him from being resurrected. Every power play he’s made has happened outside of our ability to sabotage.

“The team has taken up a new objective. Pai Chan joined us as an advisor because her father had been taken. Lau Chan is the King of Chefs. He placed under a spell and then lead some people to the site of the Dragon Emperor’s burial ground. The brass thought Pai might be of help snapping him out of it. We never really got the chance to try before the Dragon Emperor was revived.

“After that failure, Pai has stayed on with the intent of bringing her father out of Han’s service. She’s a great addition to the team.

“Or new objective is do right by Pai and go after her father. It still benefits the mission because Lau Chan is still doing the Emperors bidding. Pulling him out will definitely reveal some of the Dragon Emperor’s goals and maybe even stall some of them.

“The plan is to use Pai Chan’s star power to get around China. The rest of the team play different roles as her entourage. I’m her body guard. O’Connell is a fellow actor. Mulan acts as our Chinese liaison, fulfilling her original role that brought her to us.

Since Phillip is a European prince, he’s posing as Pai Chan’s date. Poor Maximus is a glorified stage prop. He’s a horse so we came up with the excuse that Pai Chan needed regular access to him to work with for a future movie. He’s in a stall but we can get him when we need to. Madmartagin kind of went deep. Somehow he got us some intel that give us our current op.

“Pai’s father had been given a facility to train a cadre of kung fu chefs. It sounded amusing unless one understood the martial skills of Lau Chan.

“We’re going in, break Lau Chan out of this spell and shut down this Kung Fu school.”

 

 

 

 

The King of Chefs turned out to be one of the most trusted of the Emperor’s council. Lau Chan’s school was progressing admirably. The Emperor hadn’t checked in on it yet but he would be pleased to see the caliber of kung fu chefs ready to serve him.

To assist, Captain Li Shang was appointed drill master. He put the students through the regular paces which freed Lau Chan to top them off with culinary mastery.

Pai Chan and Prince Phillip went to the restaurant aspect of the school, embarrassed at how much they enjoyed the delicious meal.

“My God, can you cook like this Pai?”

“Not this good.” Pai admitted. “My cooking started to take a back seat to my acting. Dad was disappointed but he didn’t try to stop me.”

O’Connell came in and that signified that he was ready to play his role.

Acting like a disturbed fan, Madmartagin walked up to O’Connell and started a fight.

In the tradition of a kung fu movie, the patrons evacuated and the team had the place pretty much to themselves.

They then proceeded deeper into the back offices. Unless he had been called away, Lau Chan lived in the building and should be present somewhere.

They came into the training area. It was vacant. Or so they thought.

A conversation was in progress.

“The process is ready. The Stone Generals will be resurrected within the hour.”

Mulan was about to blurt out ‘that’s Shang!’. Her bug-eyed expression told them she knew who it was.

Shang continued talking.

“The King of Chefs wants the bodies delivered to Shanghai for the procedure. The Emperor is the only one they respect so he will be present.”

Mulan exchanged concerned looks with Rambo and Madmartagin. The Dragon Emperor was bringing back his stone generals. Not much was known about them but nearly forgotten Chinese legends warned of stone warriors who had been exterminated centuries before China was united. Only a few survived and they ended up submitting to Emperor Han.

Prior to Han’s demise, his stone generals suffered a loss being turned completely immobile by a group of sorcerers. These same sorcerers participated in the defeat of Han himself.

To allow the Dragon Emperor the support of the stone generals was something that needed to be opposed.

But they were already on an objective. They had to get Lau Chan.

Rambo made a decision. Pointing out Rick O’connell, Madmartagin and Mulan “You guys go and start working on stopping the stone generals from coming back. Make sure you grab Maximus on the way. Me, Phillip and Pai Chan will deal with Lau Chan.”

The B team moved out right away, O’connnell leading the op. Rambo’s team proceeded with their objective.

As they got to know each other, Pai Chan told the team that her father was actually very sick. He was up in age and his clean living up till now is what has preserved him.

Knowing that, it was no surprise to see doctors.

“He looks like he can’t put up a fight.” Phillip commented. “Might be best to nab him and go.”

“Still a matter of getting out.” Rambo countered.

Sure they could nab him but a facility full of kung fu cooks weren’t going to let some strangers walk out with their master.

As they pondered how to go about this, their intentions were made moot by Li Shang’s appearance. He was backed by several of the students.

“You don’t belong here.” he said with narrow eyes.

“Let me handle this guy.” Rambo volunteered. “Get to Lau Chan and get him out. I’ll catch up.”
