Previously:

Having fallen into demon worship, Dukat was instructed by the dark spirits to revive the demon priest Mum-Ra. They succeeded and retreated to the world of Draka where Jaffa warriors had once served Mum-Ra. But there were rebels who attack at the converted Cardassians attepted to fight them off.

 

 

The Jaffa rebels were a determined bunch. The superior weapons of the Cardassians did not allow them the victory which they assumed. Several of them fell but enough got through the blockade that they were able to send one champion to do the job.

Mum-Ra had to be destroyed. As long as he stayed in his sarcophagus he was vulnerable. He could be killed.

Teal’c was voluntold to go ahead.

 

 

Dukat was irritated when the soldiers reported that the enemy had broken through. Failing the dark spirits was not in his plans. Mum-Ra had recently gone to his sarcophagus so he would not be emerging before this assault was settled. He decided that he had better see to repelling the enemy personally.

 

 

The dirctions that they have gotten in mission briefing were helpful but Teal’c still felt like he was doing something wrong. The legends of Mum-Ra made this seems like he needed a special weapon for this assassination. He wasn’t sure if he should open the coffin and stab him or blast him or blast the coffin itself. Clearly he would have to figure that out when he got there.

 

He hadn’t gotten a report in over two minutes. There was no sounds of battle anywhere in the halls. Dukat started to wonder if they had already won and were mopping up.

Mum-Ra hadn’t offered up his full plans yet, but he had hinted that they would be leaving Draka soon. So far he had seen nothing of Mum-Ra that impressed him. A withered old man, who could barely walk. Had never heard of this ‘legendary’ demon priest before the dark spirits had instructed him to revive the man.

If his rewards didn’t start taking effect, Dukat would have to renegotiate the order of hierarchy. Haven converted hundreds of Cardassians to the religion and his military training and assets, he was clearly the most capable servant of the dark in the galaxy.

Still, they had given him power. Rounding a corner, Dukat came face to face with one of the Jaffa attackers. This was a moment to revel in this power. It was a chance to show just what a wonderful choice the dark spirits could make in raising him up as their new high priest.

Another decent chapter, leroy, but it's pretty short. 

Sorry to say, I don't know enough about Dukat or Teal'c to try to judge who would win. From looking them both up, Dukat seems to be a great strategist, but Teal'c may be more powerful.
