Chapter 40: Phase One: Age of the Titans Prt. I

Panic and terror filled the senate building as the battle between the Jedi and the witch concluded. Mara Jade was able to slice through the arm of Bellatrix Lestrange. Before the mad witch could process the pain of Mara Jade's attack, the Jedi quickly sliced off her head with ease. The former Emperor's Hand took a steady breath before taking a step back. She looked over the body the witch and then looked over the destruction that she had caused. Even though the battle with the witch was short, Mara Jade could feel the toll of what had just transpired. After putting away her lightsaber, Mara Jade left to find her sister-in-law. It was not long until she caught a glimpse of the battle-hardened senator while she was assisting with the rescue operations. Despite the terrifying attack on the New Republic, Leia's composure was as strong as ever.

The Jedi could not comprehend how Leia was able to keep up the appearance of strength and courage despite the horrors that she had been through. Mara Jade watched from a distance while Leia was able to provide orders to a combination of New Republic troops and emergency droids. Once the troops had received their orders and dispersed, Mara Jade sauntered toward her sister-in-law. The closer she got to her; she started to sense the pain that she carried in her heart. Mara then saw something deep in Leia dark brown eyes. There was an anger burning deep in her soul. It was a mixture that was all too perfect for the Dark side. Before Mara could say anything to the senator, Leia heard the shiny gold protocol droid asking about her wellbeing. Leia brushed off 3PO's concern and ordered him to check on other wounded individuals. She then turned her attention to the red-headed Jedi.

"Thank you, Mara! You did well!" Leia said while trying to muster up a smile.

"You do not have to put up an appearance for me, Leia." Mara Jade said softly.

"This is the second attack on the Senate. The leader of Mandalore was killed and their people are going to want answers. I am afraid that whatever is lurking in the shadows is making itself known. Some other galactic leaders and I going to head to this other galaxy far, far away to meet with their leaders." Leia said while trying to keep her composure.

"I do not think that is the best idea. There are too many unknown about these other galaxies. The dangers..." Mara said while shaking her head. "The dangers could be too much."

"We have to do something. We must act before it is too late. These other galaxies may have answers or at the very least, provide some kind of support against whatever threat is rising." Leia replied.

"I can go with you." Mara said with a sigh.

"That is not necessary. Luke needs you here." Leia replied.

While Leia and several other senators and leaders of the New Republic were loading into their star cruiser. 3PO powered down while Leia made herself comfortable in her quarters. She was told that while the journey would be longer to get to this far away galaxy, the galaxy's top leaders would be well provided for during the journey. Leia did not care about the journey or the provisions that she would have. Her thoughts circled around the events that had transpired. There was a sinking feeling in the pit of her chest that the remnants of the Empire were planning something big, but she could not explain the other events that were taking place. There were enemies from other galaxies that were causing trouble for her home. The former general for the Rebellion knew that she had to get to the bottom of what was taking place, but she also had to determine if this planet Earth would provide allies in their endeavor against this new unknown enemy.

Closing her eyes, she started planning out what she would say to this new group of people. There were fears mounting in her heart that with Bo-Katan's death, Mandalore would be in a state of retaliation against either the New Republic or this other galaxy. Knowing if Mandalore declared war on Earth or the galaxy that it called home, that would potentially mean that any hope for an alliance would crumble. Leia knew that there was a conspiracy lurking in the shadows and that she would have to get to the bottom of it before it was too late. With a warm beverage close by, the former Princess of Alderaan reached over to grab the cup. She took a slow and steady sip while turning to look out the window of the star cruiser. Leia longed for the days that there would be peace in the galaxy for home and her family.

Meanwhile,

It had been a while since the Council had met. Since the fall of Cobra, a great deal of work had been done. The Grand Admiral's red eyes scoped out the room at the other Council members. It did not take much deduction on his part to realize that there were some in there that had taken issue with the Chiss Imperial.

“Your actions have led to the possibility of us being exposed, Grand Admiral. It was decided upon that our times has not yet come. What do you have to say for yourself?” Doctor Octopus asked while shooting a sharp glare at the Chiss.

“Our enemies were always going to catch onto our actions. It would be foolish to underestimate the New Republic or the forces of Earth.” Thrawn replied in an emotionless tone.

“You sent one of my most loyal Death Eaters to die.” Voldemort hissed while leaning back in his seat. “That does not sit well with me.”

“And because of that, the New Republic is on its way to meet with the leaders of Earth. How can you sit there and think that would not go unnoticed?” Davy Jones asked while slamming fist down against a table.

“Our actions were always going to be noticed by someone. I believe that is better to control the narrative rather than being unprepared.” Thrawn replied.

“So, tell me Grand Admiral, what control do you have with this situation?” Millon Knives asked with a grin.

“Every loss and every victory have led to the meeting between the New Republic and the leaders of Earth’s galaxy. They still do not have all the answers surrounding our alliances, but they are aware of the rising threat that we have in store.” Thrawn said while shifting his gaze toward Lex Luthor.

Luthor smiled while leaning over the table. The LexCorps CEO was confident in Thrawn’s strategic abilities. “Please, Thrawn, share with the rest of the class on what you have planned for these leaders?”

“In our pursuit of gaining control over the Golden Army, I was made aware of creatures known as titans or kaiju. Even looking back at the devastation that was caused in the battle between the Zillo beast and the Fallen, I became impressed by the destruction caused by these massive beings. That has also led me to my next point. While I understand that the armies and weapons that we are building in the background are still not yet complete; I have made it a point to begin a series of phases against our enemies. I have overseen the development of a teleportation device that will factor into the first phase. The completion of this device took some time, but it was perfected by Buddy Pine.” Thrawn replied.

“What are you saying exactly, Grand Admiral?” the Snow Queen asked with a chilling voice.

“Our enemies will be meeting in a city on planet Earth. The resources of Lex Luthor have determined where the meeting will take place. Phase one of my plan would be to send kaiju into the city.” Thrawn replied.

“That is insane!” Doctor Octopus snapped. “There is no way that these beasts would even be able to cause the impact that you are hoping for let alone be controlled.”

“You foolish, blue-skinned muggle.” Voldemort growled. “We cannot control the giants. They are mindless beasts.”

“I am not proposing on controlling the titans. I am merely proposing that we unleash them. The devastation and chaos will certainly be a heavy blow toward our enemies. One that they cannot simply walk away from unscathed. That will be phase one of my plan.” Thrawn replied.

“What do you mean by phase one?” Doctor Octopus asked while gritting his teeth.

“All in due time, Doctor.” Thrawn replied with a cold smile.

“Hmm… I, for one, find your plan quite interesting.” Millon Knives replied.

“How will you find the giants?” Sauron asked.

“During the creation of the teleportation device, I have searched for titans and kaiju of many kinds. There are many spread throughout the universe and some even in the deepest pits of planet Earth.” Thrawn replied.

“They will tear each other apart!” Shredder snapped.

“Possibly.” Thrawn replied with an emotionless voice. “Even if they kill each other, I calculate that many will be caught in the crossfire.”

“Haha… It really is not about controlling them but setting them loose.” Maleficent chuckled.

“Precisely.” Thrawn replied. “To start this age of kaiju, I have found two titans to send to the city. While my suspicion is that they will ultimately face off against one another, I believe that their battle will cause enough collateral damage that it will send shock waves to our enemies' leaders.”

"And what are the names of these titans?" Doctor Octopus asked.

"Skar King and Gigan." Thrawn replied.

Earth
London

After a long and drawn-out journey across the stars, the New Republic found itself in the Milky Way Galaxy. After contacting the leaders of Earth, they were set to meet in a location known as London. Despite her worries about meeting with these leaders, there was a bit of fascination with Leia in seeing this world. From the technology to the way people dressed, it was something that caught the senator's attention. Even 3PO took notice of the differences that he saw, especially with the lack of droids roaming around. The protocol droid could not help but comment on the fact that several individuals were giving him a weird look. Leia simply laughed it off while walking alongside the shining gold droid. She followed the other New Republic leaders toward the building that the meeting was to take place. She could see signs lined through the streets that welcomed the leaders of the far away galaxy and heard music playing in the distance.

Before entering the building, the senator was greeted by different security personnel. Trying to be warm and gracious, the senator greeted everyone should with the upmost respect. While entering the building, she saw a man with brown and gray hair approaching them. He had an eye patch that went across his face, and he was dressed differently than the other leaders in the headquarters. She heard him announce himself as Nick Fury, the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Before Leia could introduce herself to this man, she felt a disturbance in her chest. Looking around the area, the former Prince of Alderaan tried to see if she could find what was troubling her. 3PO quickly took notice and asked her what was wrong. Before Leia could answer, the ground beneath them started to shake which was followed by a gut-wrenching sound. Leia noticed Fury screaming order over a communication device as he wandered off to find out the cause of the shaking.

Turning her attention toward the glass, she could see people running in the streets. The grounds shook against as a powerful roar echoed all throughout. Through the glass, the former Princess of Alderaan saw the glimpse of a colossal beast. Soldiers and security scrambled as they led the New Republic leaders through the United Nations' Headquarters. Several more screams could be heard from outside as the building continued to shake. Realizing that trouble has followed them to this meeting place, Leia jumped into action to see how she could help her fellow leaders and the leaders of Earth.

Outside,

The last thing he remembered; he was sitting on his throne in Hollow Earth. There was a bright flash that passed through his throne room. Next thing he knew, Skar King found himself on the Earth's surface. After what seemed to be an eternity exiled down in the Hollow Earth, the titan looked down upon the world that had forgotten all about the massive tyrant. Quickly growing disgusted by the pathetic humans that he towered over, the titan started a rampage through the city. Sirens blared while the humans scrambled in fear. Skar King unleashed an unsettling roar as he slammed his fist against one the towers that the humans had built. Hoping to take control of this city, the titan saw that same flashing light that he had experienced before being brought to Earth's surface.
Sensing a threat to his rule, Skar King turned his attention toward a cybernetic monster. Armed with bladed hooks on his hands and a massive circular saw that went down his abdomen, the terrifying beast known as Gigan tore through a skyscraper with relative ease. Skar King looked over the massive cybernetic beast and growled. Reaching for his whip, the red-haired conqueror let out a challenging scream while facing off against the cybernetic giant. After all those years of being trapped within the Hollow Earth, the giant red-haired ape would make sure that no beast would threaten his claim for ruler of this planet. Gigan stared at the giant ape and let out a defiant roar. With all his might, Gigan charged at the giant ape for a battle of destruction.

********************************************

Grand Admiral Thrawn has enacted the first phase of one of his plans to defeat his enemies. With the teleportation device created by Yokai and perfected by Syndrome, he has Skar King and Gigan teleported to New York. Thrawn hopes that the leaders of Earth and the leaders of the New Republic will be caught up in the collateral damage in the battle between the two kaiju. Skar King hopes to rule Earth but senses that Gigan could pose a threat. Gigan just sees Skar King as a target.

Skar King is armed with his whip.

Gigan is in his original form.

I’ll pull for Skar King. Admittedly I’m not familiar with Showa era Godzilla films, but from the clips I saw from YouTube, Gigan looked to be more Ghidorah’s sidekick and didn’t last long once big G got him in close quarters.

Skar King is a much better ground and pound fighter, who gave Kong a damn run for his money. Once Skar King brings Gigan to the ground with his whip then it’s all over.
