JohnnyChany Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The evil wizard, Hoi, stood on the edge of a crumbling overpass. His wild eyes surveyed Tokyo-3 with contempt. The wizard's lips curled into a sneer as he raised his arms to the darkened sky. "At last," he exclaimed. "I, Hoi, the last of the Kashvar, will prove the supremacy of my race! Hirudegarn, born of hatred and destruction, shall obliterate all who stand before me. They mocked the Kashvar, reduced us to a whisper in the cosmos, but now... now they will tremble!" Hoi's monologue was interrupted by a thunderous roar. From the blackened clouds emerged the towering monstrosity known as Hirudegarn. The kaiju-like phantom radiated malevolence, and its glowing eyes burned with rage. The creature unleashed a harrowing howl, sending shockwaves that shattered nearby buildings. As Hirudegarn began to rampage through Tokyo-3, its overwhelming power became horrifyingly apparent. Tendrils of dark energy snaked from its body, and latched onto fleeing civilians. Their life force was siphoned away and left them as withered husks. With every soul consumed, the monster grew stronger. Amid the chaos, a burst of light erupted on a nearby rooftop. From it emerged Tapion from the plant, Konats, the lone remaining guardian of Hirudegarn’s seal. His scarf whipped in the wind as he drew his enchanted sword and stared down the beast with determination. "Hoi!" Tapion shouted. "Your madness ends here! Hirudegarn destroyed my home planet, but I will not let you condemn another to the same fate!" Hoi turned to him. "Tapion, the so-called hero. Your defiance is futile. Even with your precious mystical weapons, you can no longer control Hirudegarn’s might. What hope do you have now?" Tapion ignored this taunt and pulled his enchanted ocarina from his belt and began to play. A haunting yet strangely beautiful melody echoed through the air. It drew Hirudegarn’s attention. The monster writhed and howled as streams of energy were drawn from its body and into the ocarina. Slowly, Hirudegarn’s form began to fade. Hoi clenched his fists in frustration. "No! I will not allow this!" Yet, before he could intervene, Hirudegarn’s full essence was absorbed into Tapion’s body. Tapion fell to one knee, panting. "It’s over," he gasped. "I... I’ve sealed the monster once again." Hoi’s laughter shattered Tapion’s brief moment of triumph. "Over? You fool! You could barely contain half of Hirudegarn before. Now, with his full strength, your body will break." Tapion struggled as cracks of dark energy spread across his armor. Hoi was right and he knew it. The strain was unbearable. Understanding what needed to be done, Tapion raised his sword, and aimed it at his own chest. "I won’t let him escape again..." Before Tapion could act, he collapsed, the strain was too great. Hirudegarn erupted from him in a cataclysmic explosion. The force shattered the mystical ocarina into dust. Fully restored, the monster roared with renewed fury. "Destroy everything!" Hoi commanded with glee. The Kashvar’s moment of triumph was short-lived. Hirudegarn’s massive foot crushed him without hesitation. Meanwhile, in Nerv HQ, Misato Katsuragi sat back with a rare smile on her face. She looked over the pilots she supervised as field commander. "You know, this is nice," she noted as she sipped on a beer. "No Angels, no alarms... just peace." Shinji Ikari leaned against the railing and gazed out at the city. "It’s strange. I feel like I should be doing something, but... this is kind of nice." Rei Ayanami, ever stoic, sat silently, with her hands rested neatly in her lap. "Peace is necessary to understand the value of conflict," she stated quietly. Asuka Langley Soryu grounded. "Ugh, you two are so dull." She sat back and lounged in her chair. "However, I will enjoy one thing while it lasts. I’m definitely going to savor every moment of not babysitting you, Shinji." Misato chuckled. "No one should get too comfortable. Peace never lasts around here." As if on cue, an alarm blared through the air. "Unidentified lifeform detected!" Maya’s voice shouted over the intercom. "Massive energy signature... and it’s destroying everything in its path! It’s not an Angel, but poses a major threat." The main screen displayed Hirudegarn wreaking havoc through the streets of Tokyo-3. Flame spewed from its mouth and the monster left entire blocks in ruins. Civilians fled in terror, although their screams were drowned out by the creature's roars. "Deploy the military units," Gendo Ikari’s voice commanded over the comms. "And prepare the Evas." On the screen, Tokyo-3’s heavily armed defense units opened fire. Missiles soared through the air and targeted Hirudegarn. The monster's form shifted to a smoky, intangible state, rendering the attacks useless. It rematerialized moments later, and swung its massive tail through the military’s ranks. Tanks and soldiers were reduced to rubble. "We’ve got no choice," Misato declared. "Asuka, Unit-02 is up. Get out there and take that thing down." Asuka leapt to her feet, her usual cocky grin masked her nerves. "Finally some action! Time to show that overgrown cockroach who’s boss." "You’re the best suited for this," Misato said. She placed a hand on Asuka’s shoulder. "Stay sharp. This isn’t like any Angel you have come across." "Don’t worry," Asuka replied. "I’ll squash it in no time." Asuka climbed into the entry plug, and activated her synchronization sequence. Unit-02 emerged from its launch platform. It stood tall against the monstrous backdrop of Hirudegarn’s destruction. The two titans faced one another. Hirudegarn roared with aggressive rage as Unit-02 raised its Progressive Knife. Asuka gripped the controls. "Alright, big guy, let’s dance."
