Chapter 49: Age of the Titans Prt. 6 - The Final Stand

Even though Kong was growing tired against the gliding beast known as Varan, the King of the Hollow Earth was not letting down his guard against his reptilian foe. The Mighty Ape countered every attack that the Varan threw at him. Varan gritted its massive teeth as it buried its claws into the Earth. Its eyes stared down his opponent while trying to find an opening for its next attack. As the giant reptilian and the massive ape continued their destructive battle, the Varan caught a glimpse of the King of the Monsters facing off against the giant monstrosity known as the Mega-Kaiju. The Varan's eyes shifted back to the Mighty Ape as its lips began to quiver. With a surge of strength, the Varan leapt high up into the sky and started gliding towards Kong with an animalistic rage. Kong roared as he started charging toward the giant reptile. The King of the Hollow Earth threw down his axe before catching the Varan as it was descending toward him. 

The massive reptilian tried to bite through the flesh of the Mighty Ape, but Kong had evaded each attack with relative ease. Kong slammed the Varan down against the ground. The world around shook as the Varan was slammed down against the Earth. Reaching back for his axe, Kong did not take his eyes off his enemy for even a moment. While his hand was reaching back, the Mighty King felt a sharp pain grab hold of his wrist. Kong cried out in pain as his large dark eyes glared back at what was happening. The Mega-Kaiju had found an opportunity to attack the distracted Ape. Kong was able to wrestle his arm loose from the powerful grip of the monstrosity that was the Mega-Kaiju. Before he could unleash his fury on his attacker, Kong watched as the Mega-Kaiju was dragged away from him by Godzilla himself. For a split second, the King of the Monsters and the King of the Hollow Earth made eyes contact with each other. In a sign of mutual respect, Kong nodded at Godzilla before the powerful titan continued his battle against the Mega-Kaiju.

As for King Kong, his wrist started throb with a fiery pain. He heard the Varan rumbling around behind him. Kong growled before scooping up his battle-axe with his other hand. The Mighty Titan spun around and slammed the tip of the axe through the side of the reptilian's snout. Varan stumbled and staggered while letting around a pain-filled whimper. The massive reptilian found its strength and turned its attention back toward the King of the Hollow Earth. Despite the Mighty Ape being tired and wounded, Varan the Unbelievable was no match for King Kong. Varan unleashed an unsettling roar as it started charging toward the Mighty King. Kong dropped his elbow on top of the Varan's head and smashed the reptilian's head into the pavement. 

In a daze, the Varan tried to get to its feet. Before the Unbelievable beast could find the strength to get back to its feet, the Mighty Ape jumped on top of the gliding titan. With animalistic rage and brute strength, the King of the Hollow Earth unleashed a series of devastating blows against his foe. With his axe tearing through the strong and thick flesh of the Varan, Kong tore in his enemy with a blind-filled rage. Soon, the Varan's cries of pain died out as the life faded from its eyes. Kong stood over the gliding titan and unleashed a victorious roar. 

Dropping his axe down beside the lifeless body of the Varan, Kong started to stagger around the devastation that surrounded him. The sharp pain in his wrist ate away at him while his eyes grew ever so heavy. The massive titan grew dizzy as his head became as light as the clouds that circled above him. He glanced over at the battle between Godzilla and the Mega-Kaiju. The King of the Hollow Earth wanted to desperately help his former enemy against that dishonorable beast that hurt his wrist while he was distracted with the Varan. Despite his desire to watched the Mega-Kaiju meet its eventual end, Kong was overcome by exhaustion. He stumbled around until he fell to his knees. The Mighty King slowly rested his head against the pavement. 

"He's down! He's wounded!" Ilene shouted while they hovered over Kong. 

"Yeah, I can see that! I think he jus' need a bit of tlc." Trapper replied with a grin.

Ilene sighed and shrugged. "You really want to do this?" She asked while looking back at Trapper.

"Ah, the big boy needs a bit of that Project Powerhouse pick me up, and then he will be right rain. We got that B.E.A.S.T. ready to go." Trapper replied.

"We would not be able to get approval." Ilene responded as she started having second thoughts. 

"Better to ask for forgiveness than for permission." Trapper said while starting to giggle.

"Okay..." Ilene said while looking down at the wounded titan. "Do it!"

After getting the powerful glove prepared, Trapper turned on the blaring hard rock music as he hovered above the Mighty King. The B.E.A.S.T. glove wrapped around Kong's wounded hand. His eyes shot open as a strange feeling came upon him. Massive canisters that were attached to the glove were injected into the Mighty Ape. He felt a slight tingle as his wrist quickly began to heal. Kong not only felt his strength returning, he felt something surging through his veins. He felt a surge of pure and immense power radiating from that metallic glove. Kong rose to his feet and lifted his hand high into the air. The Mighty King unleashed a powerful roar that echoed all through London. Kong turned his eyes toward Godzilla to see the final moments of his battle against the dishonorable Mega-Kaiju...

Moments before,

After knocking down the King of the Monsters, the Mage-Kaiju saw an opportunity to attack the massive ape. With great speed, he charged toward the King of the Hollow Earth. Chomping down on his wrist, the abomination that was the Mega-Kaiju felt a small crack in the wrist of the ape. Before he could unleash another attack, small grabbed onto its lower half. The jaw of the Mega-Kaiju loosened before he spun his head around to see the King of Destruction dragging him across the ground. Godzilla was not going down without a fight. Mega-Kaiju flipped him upward to his, and leapt toward the King of the Monsters. 

For Godzilla, he almost grinned after seeing this massive beast attack his former enemy. Despite his grudge and animosity toward Kong, he was not going to allow this dishonorable beast to unleash another cheap shot against the ape. Godzilla dragged the Mega-Kaiju away from Kong while the King of the Hollow Earth battled the gliding titan. Mega-Kaiju turned himself to face the Monster Who Ate a Star. Before the Mega-Kaiju could attack Godzilla, the Alpha Titan charged forward and grabbed the abomination in the air. Godzilla slammed the kaiju in the water behind them. Water splashed high up into the air and crashed over the two massive titans. 

The Mega-Kaiju broke free from Godzilla's grasp and tried crying away from the massive titan. Godzilla swung his destructive tail toward the abomination. The powerful tail of the Alpha Titan smashed against the body of the Mega-Kaiju. The abomination was knocked further into the ocean. With all of its strength, it continued its efforts against the Alpha Titan. Unleashing a bone chilling scream, the Mega-Kaiju charged at Godzilla once again. Even though he charged at the powerful with a multitude of attacks, Godzilla evaded and dodged each attack from the Mega-Kaiju. As the battle continued, they both heard the victorious roar that came from the King of the Hollow Earth. 

With the built-up kinetic energy that he had absorbed, the Mega-Kaiju unleashed another attack against Godzilla. It was enough to cause the King of Destruction to stumbled back. The Mega-Kaiju jumped forward and knocked Godzilla back onto the ground. Another roar from the massive ape caught the attention of the dishonorable titan. The Mega-Kaiju glanced up and saw Kong tall with a mechanical glove wrapped around his fist. Gritting its teeth a letting out a sinister growl, the massive beast started plotting another attack against the King of the Hollow Earth. Before he could lunge forward, Godzilla grabbed the Mega-Kaiju and slammed his body against the ground. The force of the impact caused a crater to form underneath the Mega-Kaiju. As the massive titan tried break loose from Godzilla's grasp, the King of the Monsters unleashed a final blow into the mouth of the Mega-Kaiju. A blinding, pink light of pure atomic power rain down inside of the Mega-Kaiju. Godzilla pushed over the lifeless remains of the abomination before letting out a victorious roar.

Even though his battle with the Mega-Kaiju was done, Godzilla sensed that there was something else coming. Something far worse than that abomination that he had destroyed. The disturbance that threatened the natural order and balance of this world was about to come. Godzilla turned his eyes toward the giant ape. Knowing that Kong was not his enemy in this battle, the King of the Titans realized that his former enemy may have to be an ally in a battle that was fast approaching. Godzilla soon sensed another presence coming to aide in the battle that was soon to come. The Alpha Titan turned his eyes toward the skies above and waited...

On Monster Island,

Unsure of how she was brought to this mysterious place, Jia felt a peace within the mystical energy before her. She reached out to place her hand against the energy field. Soon light radiated from this massive, bright cocoon. Jia felt back and watched as a majestic titan emerged from the cocoon. Almost blinded by the light, Jia blocked the bright beams with her hand. As her eyes adjusted to the might, she soon saw the massive outline of the majestic Queen of the Monsters. Knowing that this titan was here to help humanity against the forces of darkness, Jia smiled as the Bringer of Light flew higher into the sky. A beautiful song spread throughout the island and soon the Winged One was joined by another.

Joining the benevolent Queen of the Monsters was the King of the Skies himself. The One Born of Fire heard the song of the Winged One. Once enemies and now allies, the Fire Demon joined the Queen of the Monsters in the skies above Monster Island. Mothra and Rodan gazed upon each other before the King of the Skies gave Mothra a friendly nod. In a majestic and all-encompassing light, Mothra led Rodan off as there was a new threat to all of humanity. Even though the titans of Earth were coming together to face off against this powerful new enemy, Mothra was unsure if their efforts would be enough to stop this threat. 

Upon the Chimera,

"You did not see that coming..." Lex said with an expressionless face. "Did you, Grand Admiral?"

"As I said, it would be foolish to underestimate our enemies. It is a fine display of power from enemies known and unknown." Thrawn replied before walking over toward his protege. "It is time, Vanto. The age of the Titans had reached its course. The leaders of our enemies have been hurt. Whatever survivors there are from their weakened leadership are spread throughout the destruction of London. It is time to send in the final titan."

Vanto went cold as he paused for a moment. His eyes turned from his screen toward his mentor. "Ar... Are you sure, Grand Admiral?"

"I am." Thrawn said confidently. "Send in the Destroyer."

Lex's eyes widened as heard those words. He had trouble finding his breath before turning toward the Heir to the Empire. "Are you insane?!" Lex asked while gritting his teeth. "That thing will not only decimate what is left of London, it will destroy Europe. It will bring unspeakable damage to the globe!"

"Please, Mr. Luthor, do not doubt me now." Thrawn replied as his chilling red eyes turned toward Lex. "We have to show not only your world that our enemies and their leaders are weak. We have to show entire galaxies. In order for us to save your world and many others, we have to cleanse it from that weakness. We are going save your world, Mr. Luthor. After we send in the Destroyer, we will send it back. Phase Two will immediately begin and the rest of the leadership will fall. From the ashes, you will appoint your own leadership. From the ashes, we will make ourselves known to every galaxy and every planet. From the ashes, we will win this ward before our enemies even have a chance to know that war is upon them."

In London,

Kong and Godzilla walked closed toward one another. The King of the Monsters gritted his monstrous teeth while Kong glared at his former enemy. As they stood before one another, a bright light shined down from the smoke-filled clouds above. Both Godzilla and Kong looked up at the skies to see the Queen of the Monsters descending down. Joining the benevolent Queen was also the King of the Skies. As the titans of Earth came together, Godzilla's senses started running wild. He chomped his mouth and growl while a disturbing feeling burned deep down in the pit of his chest.

"What the hell is that?" Trapper said out loud while his eyes fell upon a towering monstrosity. From his time in the Hollow Earth, he had seen monsters and titans of many kinds. This was something else entirely. It was the living embodiment of a nightmare. This was a Destroyer of worlds. 

"That is the end...." Ilene said before going silent. 

For Godzilla, he not only felt that this destructive force threatened his rule over the monsters but threatened the balance of everything. Kong sensed that this beast threaded all that he held dear and it threatened everyone he loved. Mother felt that it threatened not only the surface world, but Hollow Earth and the Iwas that resided there. Rodan felt that this terrifying creature threatened him and his allies. The four titans banded together to face off against a nee adversary in the form of Destoroyah.

Jia was teleported to Monster Island by the mystical essence of Mothra. She was able to awake the Queen of the Monsters to help against the threat of the recent emerging titans. Mothra called upon Rodan to help with the efforts against the forces of darkness. While Kong was fighting the Varan, the Mega-Kaiju bit his arm and fractured his wrist. Kong was still able to kill Varan, but he was exhausted from his efforts. Trapper and Ilene were able to give Kong the B.E.A.S.T Glove which healed his wrist and gave him upgraded strength. Godzilla was able to kill the Mega-Kaiju. After killing the Mega-Kaiju, Godzilla sensed a new threat approaching. He was joined by not only Kong but Mothra and Rodan also arrived on the scene. As the four titans stood alongside each other, they find out that Destoroyah is the major threat.

Godzilla - he is in evolved form from the Monsterverse. He just defeated Mega-Kaiju.

Kong - has just been rejuvenated with the B.E.A.S.T. glove. He is also armed with his battle axe.

Mothra- has just been awakened to help against the threat of the recent kaiju attacks.

Rodan - has been on Monster Island and was called upon by Mothra to help with the recent attacks.

Destoroyah is the final form.

Will the titans from the Monsterverse have what it takes to defeat the Destoroyah

I'm pretty sure referring to Mothra as Mother toward the end wasn't intentional, but it got a chuckle out of me, nonetheless. A great addition to the story. I would have totally gone for Destroyah after what Kong and Godzilla had previously been through in your arc but the addition of Mothra and Rodan and Kong being given weapons should be enough to see them through to a hard fought victory.

Nice to see a match where the Titans are working together. There isn’t really anything Rodan and Mothra can do, other than give Godzilla and Kong cover fire, and distract Destoroyah. The Titans would need to watch out for Destoroyah’s laser horn. Also, if Destoroyah breaks down into smaller Destoroyahs, the Titans will get overran. But with the likes of Godzilla and Kong, I can see the Titans coming out on top.

Maybe someday, we will see Destoroyah in the MonsterVerse.

Yep, I think I overlooked it and then it autocorrected itself. Oh well, I would make for an interesting nickname for Mothra in a future movie

That is something that I definitely want to see. I really love the design so it would be interesting to see what the Monsterverse could do with him.  Either him or a version of Space Godzilla would be epic
