Match 21159 Kir Kanos vs. Bolin

Previously: Under orders from his masters, Kir Kanos one-by-one kills the members of his former team when they start to uncover a secret invasion by an alien galactic power. His team, Leroy Greene, Nick Gant, Bolin and Mako fought and them teamed up with Frozone, Battlestar and Black Goliath. Frozone indicated that the New Warriors were on the other side of the country investigating this same secret invasion.

Kir Kanos has already disposed of Nick Gant and Leroy Greene.

 

 

“I wonder how long Nick’s gonna be?” Bolin wondered out loud.

“He’ll get back when he gets back.” Mako scolded him. “Pay attention.”

Bolin sulked and hunkered down for more boredom.

Frozone continued with his briefing.

“There’s been word on the heroes net that Baron Zemo created a new Masters of Evil. Some of the others thinks that’s what we ran into here. But that’s not our concern. I’m just gonna pass on this encounter and let somebody else work on this. I’m on this cult thing.”

“I need to call my boss,” Mako began, “But I think we should stay on this cult thing too.”

“Like I said before,” Frozone replied. “I got some pals looking into something on the west coast. I’m waiting to hear back from them.”

“We should get Leroy down here.” Bolin thought. “He’s working this case for somebody else.”

“I think he’s meditating.” Mako said. “We can bring him up to speed when he finishes.”

“What about your other guy?” Asked Frozone. “The telekinetic.”

“Nick?” Mako said his name. “He’s just kind of rolls with us. Never really said how he got into this.”

“But Kir isn’t here either.” Bolin reminded his brother. “He’s kind of the leader.”

At that moment, Frozone got a call. He checked it, held up a church finger combined with a serious look and answered the call.

It was obvious bad news and the veteran superhero cursed up a storm.

When it was over, he regarded the group.

“The New Warriors got slaughtered.”

Fighting Leroy Green took a lot out of him. At first Kir Kanos had decided to to hold off on taking out Bolin and Mako. The time would give him a chance to prepare.

Whereas Leroy was a fighting challenge, the element bending brothers were the real threat. Bolin would be his first target. An earth bender, Bolin tended to hold back. He was kind of emotionally vulnerable. Learning about the death of his allies would deflate him and Kir debated making that information known to him. It could backfire and the young man goes ballistic.

As he ran over options, he received a call from his masters.

“Three lords encountered an Earth meta team. The Earthers were eliminated but it I understand you have a security breach too.”

“That is affirmative.” Kanos admitted professionally.

“How close are you to containing this breach?”

“Two more targets.”

“We are sending you backup. End them quickly before they warn even more opponents.”

“Night Thrasher had a head camera that got some images of their killers.”

The group looked at it.

“Everybody is masked.” Mako said with disappointment.

“Those laser swords look deadly.” Battlestar commented. “Cutting through everything.”

“Not my area but maybe I can conjure up some kind of armor that can withstand those things.” Bill Foster- Black Goliath volunteered.

“It will have to wait for next time.” Frozone told him. “Right now we’re going to check out this meeting place.”

The Empire had smuggled in some Commando Droids. Five of them were at his disposal.

Kir Kanos directed them to kill everyone they encountered. He would focus on Bolin.

When he was ready to attack, his former team and their new allies were getting ready to head out somewhere. Kir Kanos ordered the attack quicker than he wanted so that none of them got away.

The Commando Droids covered the others while Kir Kanos cornered Bolin.

“Kir!” Bolin exclaimed. “What is this? What are you doing?”

“You and your brother are the last two.”

“What are you saying. What happened to Nick and Leroy?”

Kir’s cold hard stare answered him.

A hurt flared burned in Bolin’s eyes and the earth around him diligently obeyed his commands.

 

Fight Parameters:

 

Kir Kanos seeks to kill Bolin in a duel.

 

Bolin is emotional at learning the death of Nick Gant and Leroy Greene.

 

The area is relatively abandon, besides the other combatants.

Oh damn, Leroy is dead! Damn, I remember him from the start of this Megastory. Totally in Kir's character to do this though, so good characterization.

I'll give this one to Bolin. He is tougher than people get him credit. And he is pissed? Sorry Kir.
