Previously: Learning that Gul Dukat had abandon his post to worship demons, the Cardassian Union requested the Pillar of Autum to destroy the long ship that Dukat was using.

Dukat himself had revived the demon priest Mumm-Ra and first gone to recruite the Jaffa Warriors that once served him and then they took a Stargate to Galra space where Mumm-Ra intended to bring more back into his empire.

“Target destroyed, sir. No prisoners.” Captain Keys reported. It was already in his official mission update but the brass liked the formality of stating the obvious.

“Good work Captain.” said one of the brass. “The Cardassian Union owes us a favor.”

“Do we have a mission objective for the planet? I have a contingent of Spartan solders that would be eager to see what these Jaffa warriors are made of. They’re even willing to go down without the Mojulner armor. To make it fair.”

The Admiral chuckled. “They’ll be disappointed to know we’re not making planetfall.

While suspicion endured, the Galra were intrigued enough to bring Mumm-Ra to their leaders.

King Zarkon glared at the mummified man with revulsion.

“You claim to have history with us. But there is no record of this.”

Mumm-Ra explained. “When I knew your people, you were stalemated with another galactic power. They had a mighty champion, Voltron.”

Unintentionally Zarkon’s eyes flared. He settled back down. “Tell me more.”

“Voltron was unbeatable. Your witch-sorceress came to me asking for a spell that could dispose of him.”

Beside the king, Haggar started. “This tale is accurate. The spell that defeated Voltron ages ago is not in the witch’s spell book. It was suspected that it came from an outside source.”

“Not surprising. It was I who gave her the spell to defeat Voltron. It is perfectly reasonable that they would expunge me from their history after I was vanquished.

“Let me tell you what you may have been wondering. The spell that I gave your witch-sorceress long ago was sabotaged to only work under certain conditions and only once. Never again.

“In exchange for my services your ancestors facilitated me a temple to progress my work.”

King Zarkon spoke up. “So let me guess. You want to resurrect that arrangement?”

“It would benefit the both of us.”

“That remains to be seen. We have done well without you. I don’t see how a withered old man can be of further use to the Galra. Our priestess is quite sufficient.”

“You’re priestess’ magic is frail. Second hand.”

Offended Haggar spoke up. “My magic has strengthened The Galra to levels never dream of. “

Snorting Mum-Ra replied. “A hag of a witch cannot even access the power of the Spirits of Evil.”

“That is where you faulter you walking corpse!” Spat Haggar. “My magic is purely mine. You must tap into others. The Galara don’t need a leech!”

“A leech you say?” Mumm-Ra grinned. “Allow me to demonstrate what you missing. Spirits of Evil! Transform this decayed form into… Mumm-Ra The Ever-Living!”

A flash of evil light and the mummfied man was gone. In his place stood a hulking juggernaut, powered by evil unhinged.

Impressed, Zarkon regarded his dark witch. “Go on Haggar. See what his spirits of evil have to offer.”

“Of course my king.” Haggar said as she prepared her first spell.

Fight Parameters:

Magic duel to test their might. Killing isn’t the goal but neither Haggar nor Mumm-Ra will restrain themselves if their opponent can’t take the heat.
