Previously: Snakemen were terrorizing the galaxy via stargates. Ronan Dex, a runner from the Wraith, came across one of their raids. He was captured and then Qrow Branwen interveined attempting to complete the rescue that Ronan was caught in.

Qrow was relieved that he was able to at least uncage all of the prisoners. A few of them suffered from some kind of poison that had them almost immobile, but the others took up the burden and carried them along.

A couple of the snakemen came and he fought them off. Sadly when it came time for him to get away, he couldn’t go the same way as the prisoners or else he would lead the snakemen right to them. Alone and god knew how many enemies in pursuit, Qrow knew that he would soon be overrun.

Strangely, he seemed to be getting further ahead. The number of chasers was thinning.

He caught the glimps of one snakeman that was on him pretty good. Then that snakeman fell away.

Qrow decided to stop and make a stand. Something was happening that he needed to get some understanding on.

Two more snakemen charged him. This time he saw them flail at some kind of projectile. An arrow. Confirmation came in the form of three more snakemen coming into sight and being put down.

Just because they didn’t hit him yet didn’t mean that Qrow was safe. The snakemen were obviously higher priority targets. He crouched a bit, peering around.

“Identify yourself!” a voice commanded.

No point in making this anymore difficult- “I’m Qrow Branwin. A Huntsman!”

“What’s your mission Huntsman?” the caller wasn’t satisfied.

“I was investigating the attacks on villages. These snakemen are planning something big. I just rescued a group of captive that they were going to feed on. I was covering their escape.”

“The captives are secured. They’re grateful.”

“Who are you?” Qrow risked asking.

Several bodies dropped down from the trees.

Qrow wrinkled his nose upon recognizing them. Elves.

“I’m Legolas.” the lead man said. “We should evacuate while we have the chance. We’ll talk once we’re out of danger.”

Qrow agreed and followed the elves to their camp. It was an obvious temp set up but it was so secure that the former hostages had relaxed while being fed and treated for any injuries.

“What’s a group of elves doing here?” asked Qrow.

“We are gathering intelligence on the Snake Men. They make good use of the stargates, raiding settlements killing some and taking some.

“The ones they were taking were being held for a large feast.”

Legolas nodded understandably. “We’ve heard something about a feast. Do you know more?”

“Hey!” one of the rougher looking former hostages approached. “I can’t stay here!”

“It’s not safe to go back to your home.” Legolas stood along with Qrow to address him. “The Snake Men are still very present.”

“You don’t understand. The Snake Men aren’t the problem. I’m a runner.”

Legolas looked at him inquisitively. “What’s that?”

“You’ve never heard of the Wraith?”

“I haven’t.” admitted Legolas.

“Neither have I.” said Qrow.

“We’ll they’re hunting me. For fun. Wherever I go they find me. Whoever I’m with when they do, it’s not a good day for them.”

“So you’re saying there’s another enemy out there besides the Snake Men?” asked Qrow.

“Yeah, and the longer I stay here the more likely you’re gonna learn just who the Wraith are.”

Legolas tried to use the man’s statements to his advantage. “You’ll excuse me for being presumptuous but it sounds like you could use some friends.”

“I don’t need friends. I need to get away from here.”

“You got a name pal?” Qrow tried to distract him from his course of action.

“Ronon Dex.”

“You seem eager to move, Ronan.” Legolas said. “We will not be staying long ourselves. Although our mission is the Snakemen it would be disgraceful not to help a man in need.”

Qrow added, “Not to mention some of the other prisoners said you fought those snakemen off until one got the better of you. I bet if we work together you can get a little payback.”

The glimmer in his eyes told Qrow that Ronon was buying it.

The elves had an 8 man unit. Qrow and Ronon bumped it up to ten.

Legolas’ plan was to strike at some leaders. The gathering that the Snakemen had assembled was ruined. As a result the snakmen dispersed and went about various activities.

The squad had to take a stargate to find a target. A group had committed another raid, but this time, they weren’t abducting victims. They were looking for something.

There seemed to be a snakeman whom the others listened to. One of the elves overheard them refer to him as ‘general’.

There were six snakemen in this group so they had them outnumbered. It was a good strike.

But this new search activity that the snakemen were on needed to be understood better. A captive was needed. The ‘general’ was their pick.

As the elves started to hit them, naturally, everything didn’t turn out the way it was planned and Legolas found himself head to head with the general. The others had their own hard targets to kill but Legolas’ job was even harder because he needed his foe alive.

Fight Parameters:
