Tournament - Son Goku vs. Superman

The sky is a beautiful combination of red, orange, purple, and black. Clouds are swirling and the roar of thunder is deafening. Lightning illuminates the vast, mountain terrain. The wind was ripping trees from it’s roots. The probability of apocalypse soon cannot be realistically estimated, but it is surely too high for any sane person to contemplate with equanimity. The only bright side to this apocalyptic event is that there are only two beings inhabiting this planet. The down side is that these two beings are causing this destruction.

 

The two warriors were breathing heavily, outfits torn, and both were covered in blood and bruises. They are both unfazed by the tragedy surrounding them. The man with black hair and blue eyes turns to spit out a mouthful of blood. His eyes never leave his opponent. The man that is floating parallel to him has blue hair and blue eyes. His gi is all but gone with just the pants littered with holes. He pops his right shoulder back into place without a hint of the agonizing pain that he is experiencing.

 

“What are you trying to prove?” The man of steel asks

 

“We’ve fought more times than I can count. There’s never going to be a clear cut winner, and I can’t like with that.” The Saiyan replies

 

“Let us stop this madness! We are equals and I find that rather endearing.” Superman says

 

“That may be ok with you, but I know I can beat you. I’m going all out and giving you every last thing that I have. I expect you to return the favor and don’t hold back.” Goku smirks

 

“I’m going to end this once and for all.” Supes says intensely

 

Goku starts screaming and begins to power up.

 

“KAIOKEN TIMES 20!” Kakarot screams as his blue aura is now topped with an overwhelming red aura and he charges at Superman

Superman is caught off guard by the speed and get cracked in the jaw and sent flying through three hillsides. Goku instant transmissions behind him and kicks him straight into the air. Superman is sent flying high into the sky where he is greeted by Goku who double hammer fists him back down. As supes is rapidly approaching the ground, Goku begins to charge.

“KA-ME!” Goku screams as his energy is building in his hands

“HA-ME!” Goku begins to move his arms into position for the final blow

“HAAAA!!!” Goku screams as he sends is final blast hurling towards the ground and man of steel below

The Man of Steel gets up, eyes glowing red, and flies straight through Goku’s blast. Screaming as he navigates through the energy surrounding him, peeling some flesh back. Goku screams as he pushes more energy at the man flying towards him. His face is greeted with Superman’s fist. Goku’s hair turns black and his eyes are lifeless. Superman’s once glowing eyes, are now rolled into the back of his head. The two falls towards the ground and land at the same time. The unconscious warriors laid side by side with barely any sign of life.

 

They  both wake up several hours later.

 

Goku starts rubbing his head and his one eye is swelled shut.

 

“I honestly thought I had you this time.” Goku laughs

 

“You almost did for a second there.” Superman replies while holding his arm

 

“I don’t know what else to do. We’ve done everything. There is nothing else we can do to see if the one is a better fighter than the other.”  Goku says

 

“Can we finally put this debate to rest?” Superman inquires

 

“Yes!” Goku exclaims

 

“Really? I can’t believe you agree.” Superman chuckles

 

“I have no idea what you said. I wasn’t listening. I did think of a fair way to find out who’s the better fighter!” Goku says with a smile

 

“Thanks. Honestly, I don’t even want to know.” Superman replies

 

“We can get the Dragon Balls and ask Shenron to make us human! With no previous knowledge of any training or anything like that. We can each train for a year and fight again! After the fight, we can use the Dragon Balls to turn us back to normal!” Goku exclaims

 

“I will only agree to this if you promise this will be the last time we ever have to fight each other! I’m serious. No more fights, no more rap battles, no more bake offs, push ups, or anything ever again. Do I make myself clear?” Superman replies sternly

 

“I promise! Hehe” Goku laughs

 

Goku uses instant transmission to take them from the world they were fighting on to the Lookout. He asks for some senzu beans and immediately transports to Bulma for the Dragon radar. Goku and Superman gather the Dragon Balls and summon Shenron. The wish has been granted and both god like beings are now normal humans!’

 

The fight will take place in one year and will be held just like a fight at the World’s Martial Arts Tournament. Goku decides to train with Master Roshii at first but will also be training with Piccolo and some other Z-fighters. Superman starts his training with Batman and will have any member of the Justice League able to train him. There will be no unnatural power ups allowed. No hyperbolic time chamber is allowed.  Which mighty warrior will be able to gain the upper hand?

 

I hope yinz enjoy this ridiculously overdone matchup. There was a time where doing this match got you in trouble. I’ve done numerous ones before and thoroughly enjoy of thinking of new ways for these two badass’ to battle. It was a blast to be a part of this tournament and good luck to the other entries as they are phenomenal.

 

While I still have your attention, If you think it would benefit Superman to stay in the DragonBallverse to train, he can. Whatever training you think would benefit him and vice versa.

Sorry about missing out on this entry, PhenomalOne. It was another good twist on this matchup. 

I honestly think Goku would've won this fight. While Superrman would become more skilled through his training with his various colleagues, training with DB/DBZ/etc. characters actually allows you increase your chi, which would give you superhuman strength and speed, flight, etc. Goku definitely wouldn't have reached anywhere near his previous power levels, but he'd likely gained enough power to overwhelm Supes's superior skills.

Agree, this is a good twist on the norm and I would also give this to Goku. Even if he has no prior knowledge of martial arts, he should still have better knowledge of how to train. This is his whole thing, he trains and trains and get better and I don't think Superman has managed to achieve that to Gokus level.
