Match 21320 Lu Yan vs. Zhao

Megastory 31.1

 

Previously: Under the rulership of the Dragon Emperor, The Fire Nation sent an expedition force to Middle Earth to beat back the Orcs.

 

 

The Orcs were sufficiently defeated but the Fire Nation expedition encountered a new threat.

It was obvious that the Orcs were being supported by someone else.

The few surviving Orcs reported back the activities of the invaders.

“They are clearly intending to stay.” concluded one.

Their benefactor understood. He needed to consult his allies.

“Middle Earth is a direct link to Earth. No stargates of any kind sully the ground.” Said Seth.

“Even Krang found it overwhelming to set up a transmat here. He abandon the project, simply allowing it to be accessed through magic exclusively.”

“This is why we left it to you Sauron.” Seth added scoldingly.

“This invasion was unforeseen.” The Dark Lord explained. “Especially from Earth.”

Lord Zedd expounded on the excuse. “Middle Earth is one of our unadvertised staging grounds. It was never meant to be attacked.”

The representative of the Dominators posed a question. “Now that it is, how should we respond?”

The Kryptonian- Zod presented an idea. “This incursion may be a benefit to us. What if their leader could be turned to join us? We would have greater access to Earth.”

Sauron spoke again. “I have a way to do this.”

Zhao was proud of his accomplishment. He made note to report to the Emperor that the Fang warriors did their part effectively. Whatever Orcs they hadn’t exterminated, had been pushed beyond the Fire Nation’s reach. As far as the spies could tell, the Orcs were not regrouping for a counter-attack.

So they settled in.

Some explorers brought him back a ring, hoping to gain favor.

Zhao took it and wore it at as trophy of his victory here. And the corruption began.

By the time replacement troops came, Zhao had become someone else. He wasn’t even trying to hide his disloyalty. It got so bad that warning of it came to the Emperor.

Han was not concerned with Zhao’s lack of loyalty. That is why he sent him on this expedition. To keep him away from central authority. The Dragon Emperor was also not interested in off-world matters. He had hardly scratched the surface of Earth conquest. These moderners knew nothing of the dangers of other realms.

Already and without notice, the Fire Nation expedition force had been infiltrated. The Jade Emperor was aware of the return of the Dragon Emperor. For now, Earthrealm seemed to contain him just fine. This annexation was an acceptable fluke, as the Earthers were a more palpable force in Middle Earth than the Orcs.

The concern came when the Alliance of Evil made a play to convert him. The use of the One True Ring meant that Sauron was serious about this endeavor. Since Han was not easily accessible poisoning one of his generals with the ring was a predicable strategy.

` Under the influence of the councel, Lu Yan slipped his way into the Fire Nation military. It was a tormentful mission as the Fire Nation did not bring much wine with them. Lu Yan had worked his into close proximity to Zhao.

It would have be much easier to steal the ring but Zhao never took it off. The only way to get the One True Ring was to take it from him. Than meant a confrontation.

So then Lu Yan devised a way to get into trouble. The sort that Zhao himself would have to address. When he was caught hoarding information about the terrain beyond the settlement, Zhao was interested to get it out of him.

Only two guards watched him as Zhao came and extract what the prisoner knew. They were fire benders but not of the high potentcy sort. Disposing of them was childsplay.

“Give me the ring.” Lu Yan tried a hand at deplomacy.

“So that’s what this is really about.” said Zhao unashamedly cover his ring finger. “You want the ring.”

“It is dangerous.” Lu Yan stated.

“I know it is.” said Zhao. “With this, I can expand as far as I want. The emperor will be overjoyed. I may even become the new emperor.”

Lu Yan’s resolve deepened. “That is exactly what the ring makes you think.”

 

Fight Parameters:

 

Zhao vs. Lu Yan in a duel to the death.

 

Lu Yan wants to get the ring off of Zhao any way he can.

Pretty good addition to your Megastory, leroy (if a little short), and good CBUB Match debut for both Lu Yan and Zhao. 

Since I haven't seen the Peter Jackson LotR movies and it's been a long time since I've watched the Rankin/Bass LotR film, I actually had to look up some of what the One Ring does to its wearers. Given that, it just might make the already-cocky Zhao even more careless than usual. Zhao has already shown to have trouble against nimble fighters, and since Lu Yan is pretty damn quick in his own right, that and the increased recklessness that Zhao would very likely have would probably give Lu Yan the win here.
